Simply create shortcuts of My computer and Internet Explorere anywhere (like on desktop or in ne folder) and then assign shortcut keys to them, Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties, then goto Shortcut tab and assign the key in Shortcut key textbox...

desktop is OK - may be that key combination is already assigned(by U/windows) for something else.. Also use triple key combinations(e.g: Ctrl +Alt +G) etc.

Keep it anywhere in or under C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu to make it work properly.

and can we make shortcyts for say folders which are not in the system drive?

I mean say I have a folder in D drive that I use often, can I create a keyboard shortcut?

It seems to work only is the shortcut made is kept on the desktop.

Is that the only way it will work?

I can suggest one thing in this case!

First create shortcuts of the folders, to which u want to assign shortcut keys.

Then create a folder with any name (like shortcuts or nething else) and put all shortcuts in that folder. Now u can assign shortcut keys to each folder/file by right-clicking on it and select Properties and then goto Shortcut tab and assign the key in Shortcut key textbox...

Now whenever u'll press that key/key combination, corresponding folder will be opened!
