Prathod, that was really interesting.

Now since this ancient thread has now been reactivated, let me indulge in my hobby of unravelling such mind games...

1. We are asked to think of any number between 1-10 and multiply it by 9.

So we know the result will be a multiple of 9, i.e. 9,18,27......90

2. Then we are asked to add up the 2 digits of our above result.

Now sum of the 2 digits of any multiple of 9 will always be 9 (when multiple is not beyond 90, as in above case)

So we know the result will always be the number 9.

3. We are then asked to subtract 5.

So the answer to this step will ALWAYS be 4. Since everyone arrives at the number 9 and 9-5=4.

4. Now we are asked to name a country starting with "D"

Denmark is the only well known country with D, the other 3 are very arcane & unknown ones like Djibouti, Dominica & Dominican Republic.

So we know that the ending alphabet will be "K".

5. Now, though there are some Animals starting with K, only Kangaroo is a possibility.

Others are either arcane, or 2 word names, or doubtful ones being birds/fishes/reptiles (like Kiwi or Komodo Dragon).

So answer will always be Kangaroo - specially in a hurry.

6. Kangaroo ends with "O" and the only fruit starting with "O" is Orange. (Olives would usually not be considered as a fruit)

So, end result is always: Orange.
