A To lock Keypad, follow the below steps:

1. Select START - SETTINGS - PERSONAL (located on lower part of the display)

2. Select BUTTONS - LOCK (located on lower part of display)

3. Select LOCK ALL BUTTONS EXCEPT POWER BUTTON - OK (top right corner of display)

4. Now turn off the PDA.

Q5. Dose keypad lock function disables all functions of PDA? (Back)

A Keypad lock feature does not disable the phone function of the PDA, with the ‘Button Lock ON’ you can still use the buttons on the device to receive or reject incoming calls.

Q6. How can I reactivate Keypad lock when I have completed my call? (Back)

A Once you are through with the incoming call, you need to power off the PDA to reactivate the Keypad (Button Lock).

Q7. How can I deactivate the Key Pad Lock? (Back)

A To deactivate Keypad lock follow the below steps:

1. Press any key from the PDA.

2. Type your relevant password.

Q8. How to add Phone Number and other information to contacts? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - CONTACTS.

2. Select NEW (bottom left of the display screen).

3. Enter the First Name and Last Name by using the pop-up keyboard on the display.

(Note: View contents will be Last Name, First Name).

4. Enter phone number (Fax, Mobile, Home telephone number and other phone number.).

5. Select Field to enter area code. (If you need a digit ‘1’ before the area code then Press Field - Symbol then type ‘1’).

6. Select OK (top right corner of display).

Q9. How to add Photo or Ringer ID to a Contact? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select PICTURE or RINGER.

2. Select the Photo or Ring tone you want to use for a contact.

3. Select OK (top right corner of display).

Q10. How to use Pauses while dialling number? (Back)

A Hard Pause: Number dialled prefixing “w” will gets dialled only when the user Press ‘Send’ button.

Time Pause: Number dialled prefixing "p" will gets dialled after the pause of approximately 2 seconds.

Q11. How to add phone number in Contacts for Speed Dial? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - CONTACTS

2. Select the desired name from the contact list.

3. From the pop up screen Press ADD TO SPEED DIAL.

4. Select the number you want to place in a Speed Dial Location from the NUMBER Field.

5. Select the Speed Dial Location from the LOCATION Field.

6. Select OK.

7. To return to the main screen now Select ‘X’ icon (top right corner of display).

Q12. How to save the number to contacts from call history? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select Start - Setting - PHONE - CALL HISTORY.

2. Select the Phone Number you want to add to CONTACTS.

4. From the Pop up menu list select SAVE TO CONTACTS (Contacts screen will appear to fill up the information).

5. Enter the First Name and Last Name by using the pop-up keyboard on the display.

(Note: View contents will be Last Name, First Name).

6. Enter phone number (Fax, Mobile, Home telephone number and other phone number.).

Q13. How to import / beam contacts from one phone to other? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Align the IR ports between the two devices that they are unobstructed and within close range.

2. Open the Contacts list and select the name that you want beamed.

3. From the pop-up menu select BEAM Contact.

4. Sending device of will get the message ‘Searching’. Once the search completes the Press Send button.

5. Receiving device will get the message Do you want to save received data.

6. Now follow the instruction on displays of both devices.

Q14. How to set incoming calls in ‘Auto answer mode’ while using headset? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - Settings - Phone.

2.Select MORE (bottom row of display).

3.Check off the box next to Headset.

4.Select the number of rings (1 to 6 rings) to turn on the ‘Auto answer mode’.

1. Select Start - Setting - Phone - CALL HISTORY.

Reading & resetting call timers follow the below steps:

Select MENU (bottom left of the display) - Call Timers – Reset. (NOTE: All calls will not get Reset, only recent calls gets Reset)

Deleting all calls:

Select MENU (bottom left of the display) - Delete All Calls - Yes

A Follow the below steps

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - Settings - Phone.

2. Select the desired RING TONE from the list.

NOTE: You can use custom .wav or .wma files as ring tones.

Q1. How to change device name? (Back)

A Device name is used to identify the unit, if you synchronize more than one device with a computer, or connecting to a network, or restoring information from a backup. Follow the below steps:

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - Settings

2. Select System (located on the lower part of the display) - About

3. Select DEVICE ID (located on the lower part of the display).

4. In the DEVICE NAME field, enter a new device name (NOTE: cannot contain spaces, use _ under scores to separate words).

5. Select OK.

Q2. How to take file Backup? (Back)

A Taking a File Backup on a Storage card, follow the below steps:

1. Insert your storage card into the card slot located on the top of the device and push it down until it clicks. (NOTE: the metal contacts of the card face toward the

back).

2. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - Programming.

3. Select 'FILE EXPLORER' icon. now locate the desire folder.

4. Select the desire file for which you want to take the Backup. From the pop-up display Select COPY.

5. Select the Folder List (By default ‘My Documents’).

5. Select STORAGE CARD.

6. Select MENU (bottom right of display).

7. From the pop-up display select EDIT - PASTE.

NOTE: For more security when using the using Bluetooth with other devices, Select Start - Settings - SECURITY and check box AUTHENFICATION REQUIRED (enter the password key) and select Start.

Q5. How to Make Bluetooth Partnership? (Back)

A Follow the below steps

1. Select START (Windows Flag icon top left corner of display) - Settings - Connections.

2. Select BLUETOOTH icon - DEVICE (located on the lower part of the display).

3. Select NEW PARTNERSHIP, the device will now search for any Bluetooth device in the area (range).

4. Select the device that you want to make a partnership.

5. Select NEXT (lower right of the display) - Enter the Password (if asked, default is 0000).

6. Select NEXT. Once the partnership is made select FINISH.

7. Select OK to go to the main display.

Q6. What are storage options in PPC 6700? How can I save my data? (Back)

A Turn on Flight Mode:

Select SIGNAL ICON (top right side of the display) - TURN ON FLIGHT MODE.

Turn off Flight Mode:

Select the SIGNAL ICON (top right side of the display) - TURN OFF FLIGHT MODE.

Q8. Can I make Calls /How to make Calls through the Pocket PC? (Back)

A Sir/ Madam, like a standard mobile phone you can use your Pocket PC (PDA) to make & receive calls, keep a track of calls & sent messages.

PDA also facilitates to take the notes while talking on the call. You can dial the number directly from Contacts.

From the Phone screen, you can access call history, speed dial, and phone settings.

To open the phone screen:

· Use the stylus and Tap on Start - Phone

· Tap TALK on the device

· Directly Dial the phone number by pressing numeric keys on the hardware keyboard.

Make a call from Phone screen

a. Tap on Start - Phone

b. Press the desired phone number and then Tap on TALK

Maker a call from Contacts

a. Tap on Start - Phone - Contacts (at the bottom of the display)

b. Select the desired name from the contact list and select TALK twice to initiate the call.

Make a call form Call History

a. Tap on Start – Phone - CALL HISTORY

b. Select the desired contact number from call history and then Tap on CALL.

Q9. How Do I Synchronize with ActiveSync? (Back)

A Using Microsoft ActiveSync, you can synchronize information on your device with the available information on your PC (such as Outlook Content).

Active synchronization is already installed on your device. You need to install it on your PC to synchronize information on your device.

Steps to install ActiveSync:

1. Insert the Getting standard CD into CD drive of your PC. Follow the instructions on installation Wizard screen to install ActiveSync. Once installation is completed,

connect the sync cable to the device Abe plug it into your PC's USB port.

2. To set up a partnership between the device and the PC, turn on your device. When the PC detects a USB connection, it starts the Active Synchronization setup

Wizard. Follow the instructions on the screen and select the Outlook items you want to synchronize

Q11. How do I set E-mail Account? (Back)

A Sir/madam you can send E-mail messages by Synchronizing or by connecting directly to an E-mail server through your Internet service provider or a corporate network.

Procedure to set an EPr-mail account

1. Select START - MESSAGING

2. Select MENU - TOOLS - NEW ACCOUNT

3. Enter your E-mail address and press NEXT, auto configuration will help you to download necessary E-mail server setting.

4. Once Auto configuration has Finished press NEXT Enter your name (the name you want displayed when you send E-mail) and your password.

Note: Select the SAVE PASSWORD check box if you want to save your password so that you so not need to enter it again

Q12. How do I send Message form my set? (Back)

A Sir/Madam, you can send and receive outlook E-mail, Internet e-mail through an Internet service provider (ISP) and text messages (SMS). You can also access E-mails formwork using a VPN connection. For more information about e-mail and text messages see help on the device.

Procedure to compose and send message

1. Select Start - Messaging

2. Select MENU - SWITCH ACCOUNTS

3. Select Account and the press New

4. Enter the E-mail address or text message address of one or more recipients, separating them with semicolon.

To access address and phone numbers from contacts press TO.

5. Enter your message or to add common message Select MENU - MY TEXT and type the desired message. To check the spelling Select MENU - SPELL CKECK

6. Press SEND

Q13. How do I browse Internet? (Back)

A Sir/Madam, your device features are having the powerful networking function that enables you to connect to the Internet.

You can set up connection to the Internet or to a corporate network to brows the Internet.

Procedure to use Internet Explorer in Mobile:

1. Select START - INTERNET EXPLORER.

2. In the address bar enter the URL address you want to connect to.

3. Select GO icon (curved arrow upwards) to go to the entered web address.

4. Select BACK to go back to the previous page on the Screen.

5. Select MENU - REFRESH to go back to the home page.

6. Select MENU - HOME to go backup the home page.

7. Press MENU - FAVOURITES, select the favourite website you want to visit.

8. To add a link to favourites select MENU - ADD TO FAVOURITES or press and hold on the current page to select ADD TO FAVORITES from the shortcut menu

Q14. What is a Comm. Manager? (Back)

A Comm. Manager acts like a central switcher that lets you enable or disable phone features as well as manage your data connections easily.

Q15. How do I use Comm. Manager? (Back)

A Select START - PROGRAMS - COMM MANAGER. Simply press the Corresponding button to enable or disable a feature.

1. Select button showing receiver sign to toggle between enabling and disabling (turn on FLIGHT MODE) the phone.

2. Select button showing rays emitting tower sign to toggle between turning on or off Wi-Fi.

3. Select SETTINGS - Wi-Fi SETTINGS to configure Wi-Fi on your device.

4. Select button showing sound emitting Speaker sign to toggle between turning on the phone’s ringer or setting the phone to vibration/mute mode.

5. Select button showing envelop with small arrow sign to toggle between automatically receiving (as Items arrive) and manually receiving Outlook E-mails.

6. Select button next/right to receiver sign to toggle between turning off and on blue tooth.

7. Select SETTINGS - BLUETOOTH SETTINGS to configure Blue tooth on your device.

8. Select button showing sign line mobile/PC screen to disconnect active data services. (Note: You cannot reconnect data services in Comm. Manager)

9. Select button showing Circle with 2 rotating arrows to synchronize the device and computer via ActiveSync.

Q16. How can I receive / reject incoming call? (Back)

A Like a standard mobile phone you can use your pocket PC (PDA) to make & receive call, keep track of calls and sent messages.

PDA also facilitates user to takes notes while on call.

When you receive a phone call, a message will appear, giving you an option to either answer or ignore the incoming call.

· To answer the call, tap Answer, or press TALK.

· To reject the call, tap Ignore, or press END.

· To end a call: Tap or press on END to hang up the call.

Q17. How do I get connected to Internet? (Back)

A The device has three Internet connection settings for Internet access:

1. Reliance Mobile World – used to connect to R World (via special proxy).

2. My ISP (Internet Service Provider) – used to connect to Internet.

3. My Work Network – used to connect to any private, corporate network.

To connect to the Internet via ISP

1. Obtain the following information from your ISP:

2. Tap Start - Settings - Connections tab Connections

3. Tap Add a new modem connection and enter a name for the connection.

4. Select a modem from the list and then tap Next.

5. Complete the connection wizard by entering the required information and tap on Finish.

To get connect to a Private Network

1. Obtain the following information from your network administrator:

Server Phone number

User Name

Password

Domain (If provided by an ISP or a network administrator)

2. Tap Start - Settings - Connections tap Connections.

3. In My Work Network, follow the instructions for each type of connection.

4. Complete the connection wizard, and then tap Finish.

Q18. How to establish connection using Wireless Modem? (Back)

A Wireless Modem activates your device as wireless modem and allows you to connect your PC to a wireless network.

Before you create and configure a new modem using a connection, you must install the drivers on your PC.

To establish a connection using Wireless Modem:

1. On your device, tap Start -Programs - Wireless Modem.

2. In the Connection Type list, select USB.

3. Tap Start.

Set up your PC

Sir/ Madam, Before you start using Wireless Modem with an USB connection, you must configure a new modem on your PC and obtain the Username and Password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

To Configure Modem on your PC

1. On your PC, select Start - Settings - Control Panel.

2. Double-Click Phone and Modem Options.

3. On the Modems tab, click Add.

4. Select the Don’t detect my Modem; I will select it from a list check box.

5. In the Manufacturers list, select Standard Modem Types.

6. Select Standard 33600 bps Modems and click Next.

7. Select the modem port on which you want to install the drivers.

8. Click Next.

9. Click Finish. Now, when you check the Modems tab in the Phone and Modem Options dialog box, a Standard 33600 bps Modem appears in the modem list.

10. Select Standards 33600 bps Modem.

11. Click Properties.

12. Click Change Default Preferences on the Advanced tab.

13. On the General tab, select Flow control to None.

14. Click OK until the modem installation wizard exists.

Q19. What is Pocket MSN Messenger? (Back)

A MSN Messenger delivers the features of MSN Messenger to the mobile device.

1. With Pocket MSN Messenger you can do the following:

2. Send and Receive instant messages.

3. See which contacts are online or offline.
