^^^ Just realized it is sugarsync that I use and not dropbbox. It is a similar service. Works pretty well, both on the Android and PC.

Is there a way to prevent the "Gallery" from indexing all locations on SD card. Some folders you might just not want to see there for obvious reasons... dirty minds... well that too. But then there are these game folders etc that have jpgs/pngs that you don't want to see in the gallery.

He's said in one of the posts on xda that he is member here, but not that active.

Well, if you all are afraid of Google so much, what about facebook. It is the next big challenger to google for your private data. I don't think google ever saw it coming as to what was coming their way. Most of the search and internet traffic is now going the FB route, which is all in the private WWW domain of FB, which no one else will have control over. FB surely has accumulated more personal data about you in a couple of years than google must have in 10 years.

Can someone upload the apk some place else than zhare. Not getting a stable connection, only DLing a partial file every time. Tried several times.

Any app that can read SMS's aloud (through speakerphone) while driving. Have tried drivesafe.ly and vlingo neither worked for me.

I think 2.2 allows that. So you will have to wait for Froyo or root your phone. Those are the only 2 ways to place apps on SD.

Is anyone using a startup manager/controller for Android/Epic like the one's we have for Windows. Too many apps start when the phone is restarted, especially the Sprint apps. Would be nice to control that. God only knows why a game like Sudoku needs to run in the background when the phone is rebooted, I have uninstalled it since. But would have been better to control what starts.

Is anyone using a cover/pouch or something for the Epic? Is it available online? Went to Alfa today checked all shops no luck.

Avast Free edition since years now on all my lappies and PCs. Never a virus attack or problem. It just needs to be coupled with an on demand anti-malware/spyware though. Also have recommended to tons of people.

All About Treo 755p - Lets Discuss The Good And The Bad
Harshal replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
Phew! Found a solution. I installed a trial version of TealContacts, please seacrh on PalmGear.com. It has an option to send entire address book as a .vcf file. Then uploaded the .vcf to a spare google account. Now all contacts are transfered. -
All About Treo 755p - Lets Discuss The Good And The Bad
Harshal replied to dkaile's topic in Other handsets
I am trying to export contacts from my Treo. Hotsync is not an option, since it is not working for me. Somehow the address book and date book do not sync up. Is there any alternative? Is there a way to read the contacts .pdb file? -

Quite complicated But looks good on the face of it. -
I have recently started using the DropBox service to sync up some of my folders across computers. I used to use Live Mesh beta, earlier, however with the recent update Live Mesh no longer supports Win XP. So I have installed Drop Box on XP PCs and on 1 of the Win 7 PC.

Win 7, just because both my laptops came preloaded with licensed versions. I am still to explore the Ubuntu fully. Had breifely installed it for a while on an XP PC. But there were obvious issues with certain software such as the accounting software that would not work with it. So had to revert back to XP. But have since moved on to GnuCash. For personal use point of view I don't think there is any other software that is a showstopper to prevent me going to Ubuntu. Come to think of it, Windows Live Mesh may be one of it. I am quite used to it now. But I guess there are Ubuntu alternatives as well. Just need to figure out if cross syncing of data is possible - between Ubuntu and Windows PC - with use of a online storage. If so, I'll try out Ubuntu on a spare laptop.

Expectedly Big 3 of GSM opt for 3G strategic intra-circle roaming alliance
Harshal replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Tata is going to tie up with BSNL/MTNL for circles not won by them. 13 + 11 + 9 is still 22 only. How can it be 33? There are only 22 circles aint't it. -
With IE9, MS has taken away the only reason it was a default choice for several websites, Compatibility. Several websites now need to be viewed in compatibility mode else appear quite bad in IE9, or worse don't function as it should. I have come across so many sites that I had to press the compatibility button for a better performance, that there is no use of keeping a count also.
