not even 24 hrs since i requested for EVDO, igot a call from Mumbai and the lady informed me that EVDO has been activated. She asked me to switch off my cell and start it again. Now who says Reliance is inefficient : used speedtest.net on my android and now it shows 1.24 Mbps download and 0.39Mbps as upload speed. earlier i was getting 0.04Mbps upload & 0.06 Mbps as download speed Something is better than nothing

expected, i went to reliance web world to get an OMH sim for my existing number and they offered me 2 new connections for Rs 50 odd. No wonder they amassed the numbers. -

spoke again to CC and this time the executive was well versed and helpful. She took my request for EVDO activation and also gave me the request number. She said it takes 5 days for EVDO to be activated but will try to get mine on priority. At least now I made some headway !!!

I called CC and they ask me to get help from the shop i bought this ? I said that this handset is on ur website and the dealer directs me to u , she said she still can help me and only the shop from where i bought the handset can help in activating it ? I really lost it them. I asked her to pass the line to her superior but that too was negative as she said all the superiors are not available now and to call after half and hr. I am just moving in circles here

It is not a 3g phone, only runs GSM 2G i.e edge for internet. Supposedly runs EVDO on cdma but i am yet to experience that. Only get 1X connection. I have a reliance postpaid DAPO connection and have run pillar to post to enable EVDO but no one in Reliance customer care or Web world or Airtyme know how to do that. Customer care says enable the plans from RWorld but this phone does not hv R world. I am just moving in circles as far as EVDO is concerned. Voice quality is awesome and the phone looks great. At 3.7", its a beast with good looks to carry. Music and all play very well. Sound clarity is amazing. Love the torch applications and other android market apps makes this phone a killer. GPS and all work very well. Camera @ 5mp is cool too. I am in touch with their official distributors (airtyme) and pestering them to help me run evdo on this handset. I dont hope much but there is no harm in dreaming signing off nitin

Beauty was that i recvd it by blue dart at abt 10am and then got a sms an hr later from letsbuy stating ur phone has been dispatched today.

i got one OMH cdma sim day before yesterday at Rs 25 from reliance web world.

motorola milestone xt 800/glam , its on reliance website and the packaging shows the name of the distributor air tyme. Same handset is avaliable at reliance web world for 21k to 24k and chrome at 19,990. for the default settings for reliance if i use username and pass as my phone number, i can connect to internet. But that wud be connecting to "netconnect" and charges are exorbitant. Am sure there is a way to install web world in this phone and on other androids. The phone has default settings for MTS and Tata inbuilt as well. So its a true OMH device. people r porting other cdma connections on andorid/motorola devices http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1593533-service-programming-on-the-moto-droid?pp=15 am sure some of you guys must have ported r world on ur androids. Thats what I wanna do on my official handset.

can someone tell me how to activate R world on android ? i asked in the other thread too but seems no one replied. diapn shared this Install Anycut and enter the following settings hostname: wapgw.ricinfo.com port: 8080 URL: http://wap.rworld.co.in i tried playing around and as a result lost the entire reliance connection in settings.. had to restore to factory default settings to get it back. can anyone explain as to how to do it ? ty in advance.

Install Anycut and enter the following settings hostname: wapgw.ricinfo.com port: 8080 URL: http://wap.rworld.co.in But for this the username password configured in your mobile needs to be RWorld not netconnect MDN/MDN. So be very careful else you will run up huge bills. how to ensure that we are using rworold only ? and wud the username and pass be the mobile number ?

doe it hav 1 year warranty ? yes 1 yr, it has same box packing which u get from buying @ reliance web world or ezone or any other authorized shop with bill. The box has the distributor's name ( airtyme's) printed on it. -

finally bot Motorola Milestone XT800 @ Rs 16,999 , cud not resist myself coz i always wanted a dual sim with cdma. 1 year warranty is an added advantage since its with bill. Am stuck with DAPO being a corporate connection and I also have a mtnl 3G sim. Now can use both together. goodbye to my touch diamond -

I called air tyme the official distributors of motorola xd 800 and asked him to tell me the shop from where to buy this phone in around karol bagh. He said he wud deliver the phone at my residence and the price wud be 24k. I told him to stop fooling me as the phone was available for 19k at letsbuy. he said he will call back after 5 minutes. he did call back and said t the phone will not have any bill and would be an imported handset without any support and blah blah. I said the site says one year warranty and with bill price. he said that these phone are imported ones with no support and the best he cud offer me was 20k. He insisted me to verify the products at letsbuy with my friends. lmao -
