If only Nokia had adopted Android early, it might still be retaining its no. 1 position in the world... RIP my Nokia 6265
  9. ^ Also throw in Nikon D5200 in the battle. I have recently got it and its a fine camera with features ahead of the 600D. Its a fantastic entry/advanced amateur camera with a light body and high mega pixel counts and high autofocus points, stereo video recording. It is the winner in entry level cameras in most reviews worldwide. My details are here - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/26307-your-latest-hardware-purchase/?p=295224 Also consider Nikon D7000 which is now with much reduced prices due to launch of D7100 and slightly more professional grade body but heavier. Remember whichever camera you choose Nikon or Canon, you will be stuck with them for sometime because then you tend to build a full collection of lens around the body and lenses are even costlier than the body in some case.
  10. The Off Topic Thread

^ Very well said kshah and silent_god. That was my point exactly rather than a debate who or who does not pay tax or who pays more tax. The motivation for paying taxes and enthusiasm of an Independent India vanishes after seeing these idiots destroy our hard earned money on stupid schemes and vanities and gross mismanagement of our funds by the central and state govts. That a entrepreneur earns by his intellect and hard work is overlooked, a aspiring and brilliant child's seats in medical/etc. colleges reserved for far less deserving candidates, sycophancy and corruption leading people to the top are just few of the things which don't inspire me to feel enthused that our country is free and that India is on the right path....
  11. The Off Topic Thread

That's quite a sweeping statement. Do you have any facts to prove your point. There are many honest business tax payers who pay hundreds of times more tax than a salaried person and get the same facilities. Salaried Tax payers account for a minuscule part of the total taxes collected by the govt. and is far far less than paid by a business which pays excise, sales tax, income tax, service tax etc.
  12. Yes, battery life is NOT very good. It also takes 4-5 hours to charge fully.

Somebody asked me today, why are you not inspired to be Indian and what have you done for the country to ask such a question? I replied that what I and many other educated Indians like me have done for the country is that we have paid taxes highly unproportional to the facilities that we get in return. We have provided employment and then be exploited and harassed by 100s of govt. departments on a daily basis. We have provided voices of reason only to be ridiculed by the ones in power. And STILL we go about our business on a daily basis contributing to this nation's growth and trying to be better human beings and inculcate the feeling of standing when the national anthem and flag is unfurled in our children. Very little inspires me today but still I am proud to be Indian because that was my destiny.
  14. Bought a XOLO 500S yesterday for 6400/- at a local shop instead of Galaxy S Duos for a friend. Build quality is mind blowing compared to Samsung at this cost. Pixel density is wow. No lag noticed after working for a hour from the 512MB RAM. Overall a great phone I would say, for the cost.
  15. HTC One Dual SIM CDMA + GSM 802D

    Both sims work simultaneously?
  16. ^^ Rajan, any similar deals on SD Cards of 32GB Class 10 (not micro-sd)
  17. D7000 is a good camera but older 2010 model now and it is approx 59K with 18-105 VR original kit. Obsolence sets in early nowadays. D5200 has the same sensor as D7000 but has 24.1 MP to 16.2 (so much greater details). D7000 has the advantage of built in focus motor so you can use the older (and cheaper) non AF-S lenses. But the quality of these modern AF-S lenses are a notch ahead. D5200 has a tilt screen which is very useful for videos and high and low framed stills. I bought the D5200 just for the swivel screen as I was used to a Canon. D7000 has a better sealed body but then it is much heavier (780g to 550g). D5200 has wifi capabilities which D7000 does not. D7000 is a very good camera but I was not in a mood to extend my budget by another 7~10K and now with D7100 out, D7000 can be had for a bargain. I would still recommend the 5200 for enthusiasts as a complete camera with lighter body, better resolution and detail and better video capabilities (D5200 records in Stereo compared to D7000's mono and at higher resolutions) and D7000 for professional still photographers as it has 2 sd card slots.
  18. Finally opted for Nikon D5200 with 18-105 VR Kit locally. MRP 57950/- Got it for 49,800/= + 650 for 16GB Sony SDHC Card. With Bill and 2 year Nikon India Warranty. Details here - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/26307-your-latest-hardware-purchase/?p=295224

  20. Its coming to 27,850 and not 26842 after shipping charges. And Tradus does not specify carry case also. I inquired at local store and its available at 28000/- sealed pack with 4GB card and carry case with bill and Nikon India 2 year warranty. Tamron 18-200 is available at 13500/- locally and bundled with this camera (without the original 18-55 lens) is available at 38000/- at local Meerut shop. I think its better to pay marginal extra and pick up locally as you never know what they ship online, as I have heard about some complaints of scratches etc. at Tradus.
  21. ^ Any deal for Nikon 3200D with 2 lenses which is supposedly a much better slr? PS- 1100D with 2 lens kit is available at 24500/- on the street shops.
  22. Looking for best deals on DSLR in budget of around 30K. Kindly suggest some models with a 2 lens kit covering from 15/18 mm to 250/400 mm. I already own Nikon Film based SLR camera (now obsolete) and a Canon S5 IS Powershot point and shoot (a 8MP 12x Manual Zoom). I would prefer Canon and Nikon, in that order.

Lolz.... Are you suggesting that Reliance is unreliable compared to MTS and Tata? If yes, then you are sadly mistaken. In UP (W), Tata is highly unreliable and MTS is non existent. I have traveled all over India and found Reliance CDMA to be most reliable. मेरे सैमसंग गैलेक्सी नोट २ द्वारा भेजा गया...
  24. The Off Topic Thread

^ Then why are you sticking to MTS or others to Tata? When you can afford to think of buying a 30K handset what is stopping you from shifting to Reliance?
  25. Photos of 'the' handsets, if possible. Side by side would be even better.
