What do you mean by "the only official cdma set under 7k"????
  2. But still no clarity as to the preferred technology that is Wi-max or LTE?
  3. Very good plans from Indicom. Wonder when Reliance is going to offer something like this!!!!!!!!
  4. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

    MNP launch delayed to November 25th, 2010 Source: 1)http://www.techtree.com/India/News/Mobile_Number_Portability_Delayed_Yet_Again/551-113320-613.html 2) http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2010/11/01/stories/2010110151760100.htm
  5. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

I hope we dont have one more article in the newspaper tomorrow morning postponing the implementation of MNP further!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Also they have chosen to launch in Delhi beacuse there is a severe spectrum crunch in Delhi and Docomo is fighting tooth and nail for spectrum in the lucrative Delhi circle. So if they had not launched in delhi or firther delayed their launch in delhi there was a possibility of spectrum being taken back from them and alloted to the deserving players. Is this a full fledged "commercial launch" or is it an "eye wash soft launch" maybe on the lines of Loop mobile????
  7. Writing Indian Rupee Symbol - Rs

thanks arun for the prompt action!!!!
  8. At least in this respect I feel that Reliance is very transparent unlike the others. After signing up for DND i have not even recieved a single marketing call from anyone. ALso no smses. At the same time my dad who has a BSNL connection keeps getting these irritating marketing calls even after more than a yeear after signing up for BSNL. And complaining to BSNL is something impossible, considering their pathetic network.
  9. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

Brilliant!!!!!!! This is the state of affairs in India.
  10. Roaming Charges May Go Soon!

I am not too aware about the technicalities but this is a thought that flashed my mind!!!!!!! Assuming that they divide India into One single circle. Then does it mean that there will be no restriction on using spectrum of one state in the other? For eg. As we all know there is a scarcity of spectrum in Delhi circle. So if an operator is also providing services in Rajasthan and if there is abundant spectrum available there he may be able to transfer the same to Delhi for providing seamless connectity. Then I am sure that network congestions would be a thing of the past. But for all this I am sure a lot of paper work has to be done. The Mergers and Acquisition Policy has to be reworked, liccenses would have to be amended etc. Let us keep our fingers crossed and hope that this would see the light of the day at the earliest. And this would definitely not be a reality without strong opposition from all telecom operators!!!!!!!!
  11. Allianz has not got pan india spectrum. It got spectrumm only in two circles (MP and Bihar). Thats the reason why the amount seems alarmingly low.
  12. New Launch: LG 6160 OMH

    Excellent price.
  13. Excellent move by TRAI. I hope it turns into reality at the earliest.
  14. New Launch: LG 6160 OMH

    Cost??????
  15. TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali

if they manage a fulll fledged 3G launch by diwali, it would be a great achievement. It may definitely possible due to the technical expertise of Docomo in Japan.
  16. As soon as Videocon Mobiles were introduced I sent them an email asking them about their source of mobiles. I asked them whether they were indulging in rebranding and marketing of Chnese mabufactured handsets or whether they have any manufacturing hub n India? I also asked them the location of such hub if located in India. Believe me, to this day I am awaiting a reply from them.
  17. Samsung Guru 559

This is so strange!!!!!!! This is an excellent phone from Samsung and the best in clasee (in terms of the bettery) but still I have not come across even a single advertisement about this phone. Also, the worst part is that there is not even a mention about this model in their official CDMA india Website http://www.samsungcdma.in/ Any reasons for this other than poor marketing skills????????
  18. Samsung B 209 & B 339

Good value for money. But I would go for B559, because you get the above features+a OMH handset+ a 1300mAh Battery +wireless FM and all for an additional Rs.700-900 than the above handsets.
  19. Micromax E 360

But if the GSM counterpart is priced at Rs. 5500/- then this mght be priced anything higher than that!!!!
  20. ^^^^^^^^^^^^ I couldnt agree with you more. No sane person would spend even a single paise of his hard earned money towards buying a BSNL mobile (at least here in Bangalore) and if it is free, then it is a different thing because after all BEGGARS CANNOT BE CHOOSERS and we learn to live with it. BSNL is getting worse day by day in Bnagalore. I had actually thought that after allotment of 3G spectrum BSNL is going to be at a great advantage compared to the exuisting GSM operators but in vain!!!!!!!!! Thats why they say even if you are born with a silver spoon in mouth, at the time of death you may have a rusted spoon if you dont know to change acording to circumstances
  21. RCom launches rural wireless internet August 25th, 2009 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANS Mumbai, Aug 25 (IANS) Telecom operator Reliance Communications (RCom) Tuesday announced the launch of a high-speed wireless internet service plan and other initiatives aimed at 500,000 villages. “RCom’s rural thrust would drive internet penetration across rural and suburban terrain and provide value-added services specific to the rural needs,” said RCOM’s wireless division president S.P. Shukla. “The Indian telecom wireless rural subscriber base is now over 125 million. The next wave of telecom growth is emerging from rural India. With rural base expected to double in the next few years, RCom is committed to drive this exponential growth through innovative and ground-breaking service offerings and tariffs,” said Shukla. According to RCom president Mahesh Prasad, mobile telephony is rapidly overcoming the challenge of access in rural areas. “Our goal is to offer to this large rural population innovative products and services customized for rural and local needs, and tap the highly potential but relatively unaddressed market topography,” Prasad said. The company’s rural drive will comprise three initiatives: BharatNet Plan, GrameenVAS and M2M (Machine to Machine) solutions. The BharatNet Plan, a high-speed wireless Internet service, will cover over 20,000 rural locations, and is RCom’s strategy to drive rural Internet penetration. BharatNet will be offered at Rs.98 a week. “Driving Internet penetration across the country beyond major cities is a key priority for us,” said Prasad. GrameenVAS will offer value-added services (VAS) to cater to specific needs of rural mobile phone users. Services will include providing market rates, agriculture and animal husbandry updates and weather forecast in multiple Indian languages. M2M applications will aid automation of agro- and irrigation services, water level monitoring, data gathering for milk and agri-cooperatives, fisheries, poultry, and soil analysis.
