  1. Happy New Year 2015 to all fellow rimwebians!!!!!!!!
  2. This feature is not available on my Lumia 720. Seems like it is yet to be introduced on the windows platform. In fact No Privacy option at all under Settings

  4. There was a time when I used to vouch for Reliance CDMA connectivity having used it for ten long years. But towards June, July, 2013 the qualiuty statred deteriorating rapidly and the customer care was pathetic. They gave me a retention call asking for more time and requested me to select AIRCEL network manually wherever I was facing connectivity issues. I was so frustrated that I disconnected the call and immeidately ported to Vodafone without wasting any further time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. @LandyaBhai (Refer post 295) Is reliance immune to TRAI regulations? TRAI has fixed an upper limit on incoming calls while roaming at 75paise. Reliance still offering 1re.?????
  6. Sent port out message to Reliance CDMA on 24th June, 2013 and instantly recieved the UPC Code. SUbmitted the COde to VOdafone along with documents on 25th June, 2013. Am connected to the Vodafone network from 2nd July, 2013. SO far good experience!!!!!! Worth the port
  7. I sent an email informing reliance about my decision to port out owing to a detirorating network. The relevant portion of the reply is as follows: Kindly note that, we have tried to each you but the number cant be reached. So we request you to get back to us with the details mentioned below to initiate further action. Their mail itself speaks volumes about their networrk. clarity. Many people have been tellng me that I am not reachable whenever they try to contact me. I still appreciate CDMA for its voice clarity which is ten times better than GSM. But unfortunately I am parting ways with a heavy heart. 9 years is a long time I suppose and moreover Reliance has been very close to my heart!!!!!!
  8. Finally after 9 long years with Reliance CDMA I have decided to port out to Vodafone. The betwork quality is deteriorating day by day, and showing constant fluctuation. I sent in a complaint to Reliance but still no effect. Also, the call takes two minutes to connect, and clarity is also a issue off late. I was always a CDMA fan for its quality, and it is unfortunate that I have to part ways now. Hoping for a better experience from Vodafone.
  9. Network issues encountered in Bangalore also. Especially related to voice clarity, call drops, and unstable network. Seems like Reliance is hell bent on digging their own grave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. According to me this is DIGGING THEIR OWN GRAVES. It is known to one and all that the GSM network is still in the evolving stage when compared to the CDMA network. Forcefully migrating customers to their GSM network means expanding the business of their GSM counterparts like Airtel, Vodafone etc. because I dont think people would be ready to compromise on quality Also, off late, the CDMA network is actually crumbling. Voice drops, clarity issues, etc are inherent. Seems like Reliance is wanting to dig their own graves in the near future with their foolish strategies.
  11. Please read the below link http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/news-by-industry/telecom/reliance-communications-to-use-cdma-spectrum-for-data-services-gsm-for-voice/articleshow/19992539.cms http://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/rcom-to-use-cdma-spectrum-for-data-services-gsm-for-voice-113051000906_1.html
  12. I am really happy that the telecom space is up in action again after a long time and happy to see the commitment of MTS towards the Indian Telecom scenario. MTS is welcome to offer LTE services with their existing spectrum. But not too sure about one thing. Jio Infocomm, Airtel, etc have got 4G spectrum in 2300Mhz band. MTS in 800 Mhz band. And the government plans to conduct auctions for the 700 Mhz band which is considered to be the most efficient spectrum and also used globally. So will it mean that we may have to see network locked 4 g devices rather than open devices. For eg. can a 4g device work on 2300, 800 and 700 mhz band????
  13. I had a similar experience when I was travelling in Thekkady in Kerala in May, 2012. I had recharged my karnataka prepaid number with Rs. 45 voucher offering me 1ps/2 seconds for local and STD calls. For the first day of travel, my outgoing calls were being charged at 1ps/2secs both local and STD. The incoming was free for a day too. After the second day, the 50ps per minute tariff was applicable on my account. Seems that it was a technical glitch.
  14. It seems true even with reliance!!!! Their service for CDMA is pathetic!!! And also most of the offers are available for GSM customers rather than their CDMA customers. So it makes sense for the time being not to invest in a CDMA handset at least until there is clarity about the future course of action by these operators!!!!!!
  15. LINK: http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/prepaid/PlansandPacks.html Reliance has introduced a Rs. 24 voucher which offers 1ps/3 seconds for all local calls with a validity of 90 days for its GSM customers. This offer is not updated on its CDMA section. I think Reliance is planning to quit CDMA, becaise from the past few days on my CDMA phone, I am made to dial a number at least twice to sucessfully complete a call. The network condition is depreciating day by day. And added to that partiality to GSM, Reliance is sure digging its own grave, and that too a LARGE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vinayak Pai
