  1. All Kind of Softwares

Partition Magic is not free!!! i know you can easily get cracks / serials. but easus partition manager is free of cost.
  2. you can keep waiting forever as there are new launches constantly with specs always increasing to fancy numbers. motorola xt882, droid 3(as mentioned above), photon 4g (even better than droid 3 as per cnet) if you really want to buy a world smartphone then take your pick from the stuff thats currently being told. the choices are good enough as of now.
  3. i have been searching for a cdma phone under 10k with 8gb+ memory support. I need it for my mom who is arthritic and her fingers cant use small buttons but she loves music. her last phone was corby and she was very satisfied with it till it got stolen in the accident. now she asks me for a change. she cant handle android. she needs something simpler. i was considering blackberry pearl flip. dont know how practical is it for her. she liked the looks of red color in it. and i read it has great speakerphone for music. she is not friendly with headphones or ear plugs. :sos: :signthankspin:
  4. no brother, i have showed her my dad's droid eris and she freaked out with android. you probably dont understand an 18 years arthritic patient has issues of many kinds mental and physical. she has been bed ridden for two months now after the road accident and i feel so pathetic not to be able to get her a handset she feels comfy with. as she misses her music listening.
  5. Will Reliance shut down CDMA voice services?

the probability of this possibility seems remote. this sounds more like a statement that GSM is the technology of future hence CDMA customers will be moved there and countries like USA & China havent realized yet. if service isnt good in some places thats hardly a parameter to say how is in rest of the circles. billion dollar companies like MTS & Virgin have started with CDMA service in India, instead of GSM like they already have in Russia & Europe respectively. i m sure Reliance already knows that potential and wouldnt let go of the precious revenue.
  6. yes go ahead BIS will work on any GSM handset easily. its only with CDMA that you cant easily get BIS on imported handsets. but here on rimweb there is an option of two cheap BB handsets with BIS on reliance CDMA. (check the buy/sell category)
  7. to be precise htc charges a minimum of Rs.1,350/-(30$ as mentioned in post above) as handling charges for imported handsets. put frankly speaking if there is a part change require then they take ages to fetch it as india doesnt get similar handsets. when i had issue with my tp2 , they were ready to repair it at above mentioned min charges but asked for one months time that they will keep the handset and order a part. :NOTriste:
  8. Android , Android everywhere not a Window to see.............. Guys I cant help wonder that why have we rimwebians almost abandoned Microsoft. People have sold so many Windows mobile based phones and they are still selling used ones or new here in this forum. But am i too blind to see or its true that there isnt nobody selling Windows Phone 7 based phones. I know at least of two which were released by HTC namely Arrive & Trophy on CDMA networks. But nobody is giving those choices here. I went through their reviews on Cnet and here are the outcomes broadly. HTC Arrive The good: The HTC Arrive features a durable design with a responsive QWERTY keyboard and a tilting screen. It's the first Windows Phone 7 device to ship with Microsoft's cut-and-paste feature. The bad: The HTC Arrive's heavy and bulky body will weigh some people down, and it requires some pressure to slide open the keyboard. Its camera could be better, and we were hoping for 4G WiMax support. The bottom line: The HTC Arrive, Sprint's first Windows 7 phone, is a solid effort that largely delivers, although it will disappoint those looking for a 4G smartphone CNET editors' rating 4/5 stars Design: 8.0 Features: 8.0 Performance: 8.0 HTC Trophy The good: The HTC Trophy features a compact design and world roaming capabilities. Windows Phone offers an easy-to-use interface, as well as good integration with Zune and Office. The bad: Camera quality is disappointing. Battery life could be better. The bottom line: The HTC Trophy isn't Verizon's most powerful or advanced smartphone, but if you don't need all the bells and whistles, the Windows Phone offers great ease of use and good integration of features in a sleek package CNET editors' rating 3.5/5 stars Design: 8.0 Features: 7.0 Performance: 7.0 Now reading these briefs and the detailed ones, I definitely did not reach any conclusions of never looking at Windows phone again. From my personal experience on Google Buzz there was once a huge debate(biggest i ever followed) between many people on one side that is android and only one guy supporting Windows Phone 7 (most of the android supporters are even regulars here on rimweb). Are we at all trying to declare rimweb as a lopsided forum when it comes to Mobile Operating systems. I think its only fair to provide us buyers with all the available choices after all that's what a healthy market is. Its totally on the buyer's discretion ultimately to chose from the available options. Hope to see these two contenders enter the market here soon.
  9. HTC Arrive & Trophy - Whatever happened to Windows Phone 7?

guys i m not talking about which os beats which. i m just talking about co - existence. just like nokia still exists even though we all know its blunders. similarly microsoft coexists with all their deficiency. earlier even ios didnt have copy paste. they introduced it much later. they only have one phone at a time to sell running their os unlike android. multi tasking only got possible with ios 4. but they are still there and kicking. fyi htc arrive with windows phone 7 already has copy paste. I am not a ms fan but i m saying i d just like to see them selling here just to provide buyers a choice otherwise why do we still have the earlier generation of htc selling here(the one with windows mobile). also even though palm has been bought by HP due to their weakness is still selling here in rimweb. then why not windows phone 7. level with me guys i m just trying to be reasonable.
  10. thanks. is it available on rimweb? price? evdo working? no its not available and who knows how long it will take. the only moto you can get with evdo working currently is XT800 rest other moto only work on 1x. though it may always sound exciting to blow your money on the latest and which is on steroids. but choose a phone which suits your budget n needs. most of us till date dont make enough use of two cores in pc. so not every user needs dual core on phones. it makes sense in phones like EVO 3d as to process 3d media you need power. but to enjoy simple features on android any phone with 1Ghz processor and 512 RAM is practical.
  11. I am not sure if i agree with sms in cdma problem on android phones. I have two of em and i m a hefty user of sms. it works like charm. and htc sense makes it fun to use. BB lacks intuitiveness of such UI.
  12. All Kind of Softwares

so you want to create a new partition that, namely logical, as in your c primary partition your os and softwares will get installed. its safest to keep data on a second parition. but somehow most manufacturers dont create partition for you. they do it if you pay extra. let me help you with this. go to this link http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm download the small and free software called Easus Partition Manager Home Edition Its very easy to use. You will have no trouble with reducing the size of your C drive and creating a new partition of remaining part. i insist do not touch the recovery drive and unamed drive. Recovery drive is the only savior when your pc gets bricked with virus or some curious experiment. you ll have a shortcut key to re install your whole os and softwares in factory state. best part is that this new partition will remain untouched so your data is safe when your os partition is formatted and re installed. click +1 if this works for you.
  13. i doubt if one can buy it in India yet.
  14. Moto Droid 2 with sliding keyboard Htc Incredible 2 only bar Moto xt800 with dual standby (the only phone till date) all of them run on android
  15. Its strange to see what i accidentally bumped into. i m sure the gurus know it. Earlier this year when data stopped working on tp2, eris & incredible. It was easy to go into connections and edit with tp2 but android scarred me. i didnt know the programming and complex ways to connect to pc. but once i randomly was going through epst i saw under Security option there is ppp user id and password. where i saw the data login n pass mentioned.(the previous ones that stopped working) so i changed them to MDN and simply my data started working. I am so glad to see that its not necesary to connect your phone to qpst etc for a simple thing such as changing the data connection user id and password. Gurus please comment if I am being funny. but thats what i did and this is what worked.
  16. dhiraj ji, does it mean the way i m using data right now is incorrect? (i have a prepaid reliance cdma tp2 as well, using data in the same manner on it too) and i should actually do what you have mentioned in this topic. how will it affect me or change my usage? its great to know that on evdo voice & data simultaneous are supported. but evdo can be enabled from backend or from one of the gurus here. are you suggesting i can do it on my own? kindly be more specific in the direction you suggest i should move to. many thanks
  17. i might have done this wrong but this is what works for me at present. when my data stopped working on droid eris and incredible. i dialed ##778# chose edit, entered 00000 password then hit security there in ppp user id & password I wrote my mobile no. then data started working. but now its too expensive then earlier. both are prepaid and i dont have any data packs. please feel free to guide/correct me as now i think i m on time based default plan unlike earlier when it was data based.
  18. iPad Alternatives

I must say that when it comes to anything thats got to do with multimedia or touchscreen, be it portable media players or tablets, lets just hand this over to Archos. They have proved they are way ahead in this dept. I mean their gen 9 tablets beat both samsung & apple a run for their worth. Considering now you straightaway have a 1.5 GHZ dual core processors complimenting Honeycomb with 250GB (optional) models. Its the ultimate way of enjoying Android on any tablet. Needless to say if its HD movie watching that you are looking for then you got it with plethora of choice at 1080p. It doesnt just end here when you can use the 3g usb stick which seamlessly fits inside these tablets and yet can be taken out to use on your regular laptops. Wow all said, I dont think anybody should waste their precious money and time on any other tablet anymore. Read more here..... http://www.archos.com/products/gen9/index.html?country=us〈=en
  19. After going through the Generic Rworld Password - Topic completely. I realized its such a mess to configure data connection on cdma. It was manageable with windows mobile but with android its far more complex. If you use GSM on android its still easy but with cdma you have to seek shelter unless you are a guru. First we used to run around to get 1x data and later new hassles once EVDO began. Of course the latest handsets are coming EVDO enabled and *228 ready but the once bought before that keep running. With GSM you can simply go to settings add your APN and whether you have 2g or 3g or 3.5g everything starts working. My dad's cdma android is always busy as his data is on mostly and we cant have simultaneous voice n data.(unlike gsm) I believe that all the experts here should actually prove that since android is open source, they should write an .apk for reliance ,tata & mts data connection settings. Otherwise the road is not encouraging enough for newcomers to get excited and switch to cdma through mnp.
  20. Samsung Fascinate Now Official With Reliance

any idea if this one has a ruim card slot or its programming based again
  21. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

Believe it or not. I had this old reliance gsm no which i didnt use. but it had life time incoming so it was with me. Recently for some reason I had put in my HTC touch pro 2 and voilla it was showing `H' signal. I checked on internet it means HSDPA , i thought its some fluke but guys i have made calls and it stays on same doesnt move to E or G (edge or gprs) as earlier. I have used YOU Tube and other browsing and its working super fast staying with H signal. I dont know how. Can anybody explain this miracle. I also have a regular reliance gsm no. but somehow its not catching H , its showing E only.
  22. Samsung Galaxy I899 Launched In Reliance CDMA

Data speeds are always calculated in bps meaning bits per second and not Bps which is bytes per second. (1 Byte = 8 bits) So 3mbps means 3 mega bits per second which will work out to be 384 KBps (Kilo bytes per second) As per what you have mentioned you are getting a speed in between 2-3 mbps. Its decent i think. You are lucky unlike many of us who are using imported handsets with no evdo yet
  23. CDMA 2000 1X Advanced, DO Advanced

sorry to disappoint you people here but SVDO is a handset and network feature. Once CDMA development group roles it out to service providers then we can expect it. But saddest part none of our current gen handsets are compatible. Exclusive handsets will be manufactured with SVDO capability. it seems this drawback will force lot of cdma fans to switch to gsm with 3g. as what good is EVDO speeds if it cant be simultaneous with voice calls.
  24. Verizon HTC Incredible - The Beefed Up CDMA Nexus 1
