  1. Verizon HTC Incredible - The Beefed Up CDMA Nexus 1

To switch on and off data use the data toggle widget.
  2. Nokia 6275 - No Sound

Its good to hear that the problem has been solved
  3. DSLR or Megazoom Camera?

I do not think MFT prices are going to come down anytime soon
  4. Verizon HTC Incredible - The Beefed Up CDMA Nexus 1

S off or S On status remains unchanged. You will loose root and will have to root again. I personally did not find any major difference in battery life while there is a marginal improvement in speed.
  5. Installing The Android Apps Directly On SD Card?

I am also of the view that proper grammar should be used. The SMS lingo on forums is somewhat irritating. Those should be used for short messsages only.
  6. Verizon HTC Incredible - The Beefed Up CDMA Nexus 1

Thanks Vinay, Prefixer does the job fine It is a good permanent solution to remove the +91 issue with CDMA phones
  7. Installing The Android Apps Directly On SD Card?

Auto mount problem with Root # All Data2SD in Incredible Needs manual mounting at every reboot. Uninstalled and reverted back
  8. Verizon HTC Incredible - The Beefed Up CDMA Nexus 1

Disable prefix in assisted dialing. This problem seems to be there in the leaked RUU
  9. Nokia 6275 - No Sound

If speaker is faulty then how can you hear keypad tones as per your first post

  13. @Sumit I am using Olive nexus router and am happy with it. Also our sougata ji has been using for long time and he is also satisfied. Regarding the other product, it does not have a battery backup which is a -ve while you are on the move.
  14. Help for selecting best HD DVR DTH service

DishHD is upscaling 576i to 1080i using software interpolation. Looks slightly better than SD but nowhere can it be close to HD Sent from my Droid Incredible using Tapatalk
  15. Help for selecting best HD DVR DTH service

According to available information StarplusHD feed is 720p. DiscoveryHD is 1080i. Dont have more information about others Tatasky HD stb upscales everything HD to upto 1080i/50Hz SD feed in tatasky is 352 x 288 for most channels which results in poor resolution Sent from my Droid Incredible using Tapatalk
  16. Help for selecting best HD DVR DTH service

Full HD is 1080p. But it is very resource hungry. To the eye the difference between 1080p and 1080i is visible only when there is a very fast moving scene, because of interlacing. So the world over 1080i has new almost become the standard for broadcast. Very few 1080p broadcasts are done woldewide. The only way to get the taste of 1080p is through 1080p encoded blueray. Some manufacturers of LCD/LED TVs are using the method of overscan in 1080i to get rid of the motion jitter. They load the total even frame and odd frame in memory and then display the full image image upto 4 times the original rate recreating the missing frames which reduces the motion jitter considerably.
  17. GSM RF output are pulsating in nature which induces headache in some people and also the intermodulation noise we hear from all kind of audio equipment nearby. CDMA RF is a continuous output and so does not cause disturbance in audio equipment. Also inspite of more power output from CDMA handset, though the ear feels warm, the typical headache is not profound in CDMA
  18. TATA's EVDO Coverage

I have also received news that TATA intends to use GSM for voice once they get spectrum in all circles. There is also some news that TATA is wiling to give back 2.5 Mhz of CDMA spectrum in some circles for getting corresponding spectrum in GSM band. It seems finally they will use GSM for voice and CDMA for DATA primarily. Same could also be true for RCOM but cannot be sure. In any case very little new investment from TATA to CDMA.
  19. How To Get Cellular Towers In Society?

I fully agree with chirag on that
  20. How To Get Cellular Towers In Society?

hijacked by all fellow mwnbers Most of us are vary of putting towers on our rooftops, it seems
  21. How To Get Cellular Towers In Society?

To accomodate more subscribers with limited spectrum, the GSM networks need to reuse the frequencies by installing more towers per area. As a result the Tower is closer to the handset and the handset needs lees power to make its signals reach the base station. CDMA need only as may towers to just make sure that the signals do reach the hanset and vice-versa. So by default CDMA requires much less no of Towers for the same subscriber base. Since the Tower is further away, the handset is forced to use higher power levels to make sure the signals reach base. Moreover as dipan also mentioned above, inherently CDMA handset radio consumes more power. But the earlier question of Audit of Radiated power from Towers of various operator remains unanswered. Hope the operators stick to their audit deadlines.
  22. How To Get Cellular Towers In Society?

More the number of towers per operator , less is the power output per radio unit since the tower get closer to each other and to prevent cross-talk, the transmitter power at tower has to be reduced. But as you rightly pointed out, there is no proper audit of the resultant radio energy spillage by the operators. The operator are supposed to self audit but since we have been closely associated with Indus, I can assure you that the situation is far from being under control. The only consolation is that RF power in the region upto 5Ghz is non-ionizing in nature and does not cause molecular level damage to living cells. Another example in Delhi, Pitampura tower has 2 nos of 10KW transmitters and 1 no of 5KW transmitter for TV and radio. These power are hugh as compared to a few hundred watts for a heavily loaded multi operator tower. Such High power transmitters for Radio and TV exist in almost every major city. This RF radiation is very different from ionizing radiation caused by alfa , beta particles as in case of nuclear fission or fusion radiation which damages at a molecular level causing severe damage to living cells. The cellphone is a necessary evil. The GSM handsets are a bit better because they transmit at lower power than an average CDMA handset. That too is because CDMA operators can get away with 1/6 th the no of towers needed by GSM operators for approx same subscriber density. So a CDMA tower is usually much far away causing the handset to operate at a higher power levels and consequently lesser batt backup. But then CDMA is a better technology as far as spectrum utilization, multipath interference, call quality with EVRC-B etc.
  23. Does Signal Boosters work?

You can also us a bluetooth cellular gateway in your office. Keep the phone in that part of the office where you get best signal strength. The call are then routed to any RJ11 based corded handset or any cordless phone. I am personally using it in my Delhi Okhla office. Upto 3 phones can be connected to such gateway. Available through xlink or siemens. I got it through global-ebay. Also the constant threat of exposure to radition because of high transmit power of handset in fringe area is also taken care of. only problem is that I tend to miss the emails and sms if I am unable to hear the phone alert tones
