  1. JIO SIM WITHOUT LYF HANDSET

HA HA... I see what they (RJio) did there...
  2. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Have you tried the SIM patch???
  3. Iphone 5s for Rcom LTE

Supports Indian lte bands, but no volte. So for RJio it's data only. For voice it has to fall back on RGsm. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  4. Wrong info. Tata is also closing CDMA services. At least in circles where they don't have 3g. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  5. JIO SIM without LYF handset

No use in trying any other hack, as the problem is bad coverage of band 40 in your area. Even if you make your opo to work with jio Sim, the coverage issue will persist. Because by default in Jio networks 2300MHz will be used if available, then priority to band 3 and finally band 5. If you are getting 850MHz signal only, it means the signal of other bands are very weak. I can give you one better idea. Just find out one spot mostly near window or door, where you get weak band 40 signal and keep your phone there and use Wi-Fi tethering. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  6. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

That's what I say.. If its NOT a primary number, then the 4G transition chaos of RCom is bearable.
  7. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Very TRUE.. Just like your assumption in below quote...
  8. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Not after FRC [first recharge] done for that 10GB free data. They can argue that it's like new connection and deny port out. We can complaint on pgportal or any other means. But still it's a risk worth taking for secondary number only. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  9. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

That will be a good thing for sure.. Far better than pathetic 2G RGsm calls.. But then it will nullify the RJio USP... Further RCom didn't said anything about this earlier. If its true, they would have boast it in all places.. Let us wait and see.... If RCom is also going to give VoLTE and also use the 1800MHz/2300MHz 4G of RJio, then what is the advantage of RJio? RJio is yet to start commercially and they have to start from 0 number of paying customers (that 17 lakh+ customers incl me, are using network for free).
  10. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Why one should experience it, if they know it's a trap???
  11. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

If you don't believe me, then go HERE and look for the data tariffs after the 10GB trap...
  12. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Let me FIRST clear two things. [1] I am NOT saying to ALWAYS stay away from RCom.. I am saying that, the transition from RCdma to RGsm will be too frustrating that (happened in other circles), its better to move away to other operator and come back after 3 months, when all dust settles down, IF ITS YOUR PRIMARY NUMBER.... No need to panic, if its secondary number. Further the voice clarity difference between RCdma and RGsm are like heaven and HELL. Another reason to move away from RGsm. [2] I am NOT saying to move to AirTel. I am NOT Airtel fanboy. Yes, I use Airtel and I am happy with their services, as they are nice to big customers, even though I was skeptical initially, when I moved to them from Tata due to lack of options. But I am NOT recommending everyone to switch to Airtel. By saying move away from RGsm, I refer to MTS > BSNL CDMA > Aircel > Airtel > Vodafone > Idea > and even BSNL GSM, whichever suits them better. Yes.. From deep sh!t to bull sh!t... They have zillion more miles to go... Like @dr.faramroze said, their 2GSM equipments are too pathetic to give good services on GSM. Aircel-RCom merger will take several months to complete.. Do you remember when RCom-MTS merger talks begun and situation today after many many months? Instead port out to Aircel and enjoy those benefits IMMEDIATELY. Further in areas where RGsm has good coverage, we can't select Aircel 2G. We have to deal with pathetic RGsm network. In places where there is NO RGsm coverage, we can manually select Aircel 2G. But in transition we may miss several calls. Happened to me when using TataGSM, even though it has tie-up with Aircel. So porting out to Aircel is much better option, than waiting for RGsm coverage to become NIL and going to Aircel 2G via ICRA. Yes.. Better than RCom EVDO, but NOT better than Vodafone or Airtel's 3G, as Aircel 3G network has more users and congestion comparing others. Airtel was also same one year back, but situation improved for good after they got EXTRA 3G slot for TN. Further, if Aircel 3G is really good in your area, then porting to Aircel is much better than dealing with pathetic RGsm. Yes.. Thats why I am saying to port out from RCom and come back to them or RJio when 4G chaos completes... Further I am using RJio for 6 months. I used to get 62Mbps during Feb, but after preview offer, speed gets reduced drastically to 7Mbps at the same place, which is slower than Airtel 3G and 4G (but still good enough).. So things are NOT always rosy... I mean, RJio current network condition NOT a good reason to bear the pathetic RGSM. Further have you seen the RCom 4G tariffs??? Its even worse than RGsm_3G plans (in Delhi for eg).. So you are NOT getting good deal in RJio network, if you are using RGSM... May be you are talking about Chennai. In Chennai Aircel and AirTel has 900MHz spectrum. In RoTN (Rest of TN) Aircel and Vodafone has 900MHz. WRT number of subscribers, Airtel is number 1 in Chennai and Number 3 in RoTN. Aircel is number 1 in RoTN and number 2 in Chennai. Vodafone is number 2 in RoTN and number 3 in Chennai. In combined Chennai + RoTN, Aircel is number 1 and Airtel number 2, Vodafone number 3. Below image is summary of last year, to give Idea about NOT just TN, but all circles of India.. Because RCdma will NOT be available after few days and RGSM voice clarity is WORST. So better to port to other operators and NOT fall from heaven to HELL and fall to earth instead.. Staying with RGSM is NOT a solution for 2 months at least.. Come back after 3 months, when things improved sufficiently...
  13. But from my friends experience, Vodafone is the most rude one wrt MNP. They never allow to port out from their network once you get in from other network. They don't care about customer losing number during porting. I am using corporate postpaid connections in Airtel. My friend has same in Vodafone network. He wanted to move to Airtel. They never allowed him to port out saying all possible lies ever known. The best one is, 'corporate customers can never port out as part of agreement' -- wtf?? Actually I ported out all my corporate connections to Airtel from Tata earlier. They told him to move to normal retail postpaid connection [so that he may not port out for 3 more months] which has more sh!tty plans and then only can port out to other network. Bunch of liars and greedy people. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  14. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

    (1) Actually the problem is not about the coverage. It's about the voice clarity of RGsm [or lack of it to be precise]. My home is just 200m away from RGsm tower. But if anyone calls me in old RGsm no, they always hear some motor running sound in background. Compare this to the earlier crystal clear voice clarity Rcdma customers are used to, then it's better to port out IMHO. (2) Another thing, 4G will take minimum 1.5 months to get launched by Rcom and instead of dealing with Rcom 4g chaos, knowing no 4g coming for 1.5 months, people can use other network [incl 4g] for 3 months and return back to Rcom 4G, if it was still good at that time. (3) Last but not least, people often forget one important point. The 4g coverage of Rcom will be as good as Rcdma earlier, but voice coverage will be worse. Seeing the half full signal bars of 4g, You may think that you are in good coverage area, but in reality you may be missing so many voice calls in the background due to lack of voice fallback network. Simply put, data coverage better than voice coverage is more like a curse in the disguise of boon, IMHO. So my best advice for Rcdma customers of TN, is port out for time being if it's your main number. This whole thread is a very good proof of Rcom's inability in handling such delicate situation. Else if it's just a secondary number, then you can surely take chances and enjoy Rcom's comedy. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  15. JIO SIM without LYF handset

yes... thats the advantage of jio sim...
  16. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Afaik, you have time till July 6... So getting MNP code on 29th will NOT be a problem...
  17. @Deepak Shankar correct 100% U didn't get me. They do want people to buy more LYF handsets to enjoy preview offer. But in order to pacify the old preview offer customers, whose validity got completed and are not willing to buy another LYF phones, they may just give away few amount of data till launch. But last minute change is still possible on seeing the customer's reaction and/or sale of LYF phones. sent from my Lenovo Vibe P1 using Tapatalk
  18. So its better to avoid Vodafone for porting, especially if its a primary number..
  19. JIO SIM without LYF handset

@Nitin Gautam that jio MiFi is NOT worthy, imho... Please wait for my review...
  20. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

I advised you to do so on 3rd June itself (first quote).. Yes, what they are saying is correct.. Some people here said, they got port code after GSM conversion, but it may not be easy, knowing RCom's tactics in rejecting port code or even NOT sending port code sms to customers.. They may even say that you will need to be in RGsm network, minimum 90 days to port out to other operator.. Try hard and all the best...
  21. That was rolled back really.. Reason see below.. Yes aalok ji.. I recently got some more info about preview offer. They thought to extend preview offer till launch date initially [thats why the Nov extension of validity shown in MyJio app initially], so that they need NOT disclose the tariff plan to those people whose 3 months FREE offer is over. But later, they got the idea that, if Unlimited 4G offer is NOT extended, then most people may again buy LYF phones to enjoy another 3 months of Unlimited 4G as they got the taste of high speed internet -- more like blood smell shown to veg Lions.. At least those who bought decent phones like Water and Earth, may buy flame series phones for sure, to enjoy UL 4G continuously.. For the old preview offer users, they may give some small quantity limited 4G data as free per month till launch (for eg: 10GB or 5GB per month at 4G speeds and then slow / NO data -- Number NOT yet finalized just like free calls and sms). Let us wait and see...
  22. JIO SIM without LYF handset

Yes.. He said clearly in his last post.. Even I have checked it personally.. The SIM I got with Wind4 for my relative is working without any issue in my Water1.. But the Preview offer sim is NOT working with even Jio MiFi.. I am using employee sim in that MiFi for now.. I will post the review of Jio MiFi once I get some free time...
  23. @drmadhu ji.. 4G upgrade of RCom is not exactly MNP and more like INP and so you have escaped from them.. But still they can fake that its actually MNP and NOT allowing people to move from their network.. To avoid all such issues, its better to get UPC code when using CDMA network itself, especially if that number is primary one..
  24. You can't move to yet another operator via MNP before 90 days... Your only option now is submitting proof to the showroom again and try complaining on pgportal as well
  25. It's NOT really good to ask in FREE give-aways thread, whatever may be the reason... One should NEVER be forced in ANY way to give away for FREE. If you are ready to pay for parts, open a thread in Want to Buy section in buysellweb dot in and here is the link..
