Ranjan bhai the sprint proxies are removed and set to 0.0.0.0 from day one. will test with the app and get back with the results. that app will work the tab ? my epic never gave any problems with 3g. anyways will get back with the results tomorrow.

3G working now.. for some reason it works only at my work place. my home i dont get the 3g signal anymore. im sure its not due to this phone. fb syn does not sync photos to contact.

@billamib the Kexec method is not easy as you think it is, unless you are a dev. the easiest way i solved my problem is i rebooted to download mode and i flashed relevant modem.bin ( this not only replaces your stock modem.bin but also resets PRL NVram and NAM settings. after doing this i was able to get my EPIC back to normal. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079097 --> Kexec method to by pass bootloader.

After checking on many sites I found that even if you Odin to stock the modem NV settings won't change. Had posted this problem on Xda and AcsSyndicate sites, got a reply to reset the NVram. Downloaded EC05modem.bin flashed it with Odin with PHONE EFS CLEAR checked. Rebooted, now the phone is detected in pc on diagnostic mode. Updated the PRL, NAM and Epic NV Items. Epic back to normal now. Flashing the phone with stock firmware won't reset the modem settings, so modem has to be flashed again with PHONE EFS clear checked. This will resetc the NVram.

Will try that abhi. Can anyone tell me what do they see when you dial in these codes *#7284# Be very careful, just see what's in and press back button on the phone. anyones got any idea as on how to clear NVram ?

@csmart the cable and drivers are fine because GS3 detects on the same cable and drivers.

Epic 4g not detected in Diagnostic mode, was detected until i wrote NV items of GS3 by mistake. If i go into diagnostic mode and select MODEM in USB part the phone does not get detected in com port. (GS3 gets detected in Diagnostic mode) if i select PDA under USB part it gets detected as storage device. I odin back to stock EC05 but same problem. Can anyone help

Got my phone working again after messing with CDMA ws. Here's how i did it. i had save my NAM settings when i first used CDMA ws on GS3. you gotta know your MIN MDN and MSL codes. not on a notepad but in your mind. *#7284# will get you into PhoneUtil. DO NOT select modem. click on QUALCOM USB SETTINGS change selection from MTP+ADB to MD+MODEM+ADB and hit done, this gets your GS3 into diagnostic mode. under device-manager select port and see which port you GS3 is connected. open CDMA ws and select the same com port and click on connect. once connected go to security tab and enter your msl and SPC which will give you a sub menu send and write, click on send. you get a message spc correct. phone unlocked. now under OTHER tab select write and use the PRL file. once PRL is updated quickly go to NAM tab and click read, see whats under MIN and Dir_Number if its not your click on load and select the saved NAM settings file and click on Write. this will update your NAM. goto MEMORY tab and write the NV ITEMS file. once these steps are done do not click on disconnect. instead click on main menu FILE and select exit which will prompt you to a message saying Settings changed, do you want to MODE RESET. click OK, it will say Phone is not answering, click ok. go back to PhoneUtil and change back to MTP+ADB select done. phone will reboot. this got my data back and my phone services back. but data still at 1x though it shows 3g. anyones got any idea why my speeds are not exceeding 100kbps ? ping at 1077ms waiting for advice

My data was working after updating the PRL but at 1x ##MSL# goes to NAM info. MDN and MSID were wrong so changed to my MDN and MSID = MIN ( got from Terminal Emulator {getprop ril.MSL} ) after entering both the services got back. i could make and recieve calls and the data was working on 1x. should have just waited till tomorrow. i used CDMA ws to update NV items but when i was doing so CDMA ws quit halfway. both my services are down, no data and no calls ( to resume services please contact Reliance customer care ) Please advice.

phone was working fine till my lil nephews clicked on activate phone in notification. i was on wifi when this happend the phone booted and stoped working. it had a small triangle next to the phone signal. well i guess the phone is messedup now. since i have no clue as in how to get into diagnostic mode on GS3 i could not update my PRL. did a search on the net for hours to find the easiest way to update the PRL without using CDMA WORKSHOP. 1 copy the PRL file to root of sd card and rename it to TEST.prl 2 type ##DATA# on dialer 3 click on VIEW ( NOT EDIT ) 4 under VIEW click on Write PRL your PRL is updated and the phone reboots. did this with the PRL which i got from Parin bhai. now the triangle is gone and i can see full signal strength, but if i try to make a call it gives a single busy tone and cuts off. if i try to call my number it says switched off. since webworld is open on Sundays im gonna request them to re OTAF. my DATA is working but im not able to make calls or receive.

I managed to gain root access with CWM. once the CWM is installed you get only one chance to root the phone. else you have to odin CWM again. when you get root and then boot the phone after, the stock rom overwrites the CWM with stock recovery, the root is retained. this is for stock only. CWM is retained only if you flash any other rom than stock. vodoo sound is already working GS3 version, hope they come out soon.

yeah @Parin bhai soon, im stuck in the shop from morning 8 to night 9. just managed to install CWM v5.5.0.5 and rooted the phone.

yeah very true, but im sure if one takes it to a samsung show room and upon request and appointment with the engineer from the company ( when one visits the showroom once in 2 months) im sure they can handle it well for a price. but make sure you ask how much it is going to cost you. sometimes it might be more than what you have paid for the part. once you give them the phone and even if you do not want to replace your damaged lcd they might charge you small fee. so be advised before you take a decision.

Yeah i always do that, data cache and dalvik wiped 3 times each. the rom is fine but any program, it quits.. does not fc but just plain quits. give it 2 mins and all program works fine.. im gonna hard reset, go to stock, root and then give it a try... i have nand of stock EC05 froyo without root. gonna try that. I have the same problem with the screen. @astrokidvaibhav I suggest you buy a new one or look for a used one, keep yours for spares. getting it fixed will cost you at least 6 to 9 grand !! @p.abhir try playing some music on the phone. are able to hear if you connect your earphones ?

Im on ThunderHawk 3.5 EI22 since 4 months and i did not have any problems till now. since a week the phone has been acting weird, if i use dial pad to call it just quits, quits( does not give a FC notice) just quits. same with other functions. say i wanna use whatsapp, it quits the same way. no FC's apps quit. i reinstalled but i still face the same problem. did a full scan using kaspersky, nothing suspicious. GURU's please advice.

@Venbab you will have to manually set APN xml. use root explorer to find /etc/apn.xml back it up ( from a data working rom ) and then restore it when you flash cm9 b2. that should get your internet working. but you might have fb sync problem. see if the net works first.

venbab thanks, yeah i kinda figured it out. just need to flash the respective(bml,mtd&rfsext) rom, root it and then restore it. depending on the file system you can restore the same type of backup from cwm else you gotta flash,root and restore.

was sorting out all my cwm restores, im on cleangb latest MTD, i wanted to restore to stock froyo ec05 from cwm but getting a error msg "E:format_volume: make_extf4s failed on system Error while formatting /system!" can anyone here please advice.
