  1. I today called Sony Customer Care no. and asked about the warranty part. The CC told me that they will not provide any warranty on products purchased online in India. Strange CC guys are fool.
  2. Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple

From 9 dollars a share when Steve joined Apple, to 372+ dollars - that is what he did to Apple. And with that kind of success comes the role of critics. I adore the man called Steve Jobs. No matter what opinion anybody has. A legend forever.
  3. Steve Jobs Resigns as CEO of Apple

I love Steve Jobs! He changed the world we see it today!
  4. Google Voice

    Mine is working.
  5. I ported my number from Airtel to Uninor - here in Kerala. The porting was smooth. Uninor did not charge any money towards MNP or SIM card. Default tariff is 1/2 paise per second to local calls in Kerala. Biggest plus is 1 paisa per second calls to the US on a nominal recharge or 22/23. Thanks Uninor!
  6. How Operators Are Scuttling MNP

My first porting experience seems to be good. Today got a message that tomorrow between 10 and 12 there won't be any services. AIRTEL - I hate you. Uninor - Here I come.
  7. Considering the fact that Tata Docomo is fairly new to the scene as compared to other big operators, we should give some time to these younger telcos. I love Docomo and have been using it over - Airtel, Reliance and bsnl. Coverage will become better as time goes by.
  8. How Operators Are Scuttling MNP

How do you get to know if your request was rejected? I mean 4th day, 5th day - when? In my case I have got a message - Your port in request has been received. Thank you for choosing Uninor.
  9. How Operators Are Scuttling MNP

Reading all this - I am scared. I am using Airtel ( Thankfully migrated from corporate postpaid to prepaid). After a series of problems with Airtel's billing and unfair means of charging money I sent a port-out request. That was some 2 months back. But I chose to stick to it for a while thinking I might change to postpaid later. Eventually I again requested for UPC a couple of days back. Got the porting code. Went to a Uninor dealer. Submitted documents. Got an SMS saying Uninor got the port in request. Now I am wondering - Have I crossed the port out rejection period ( having got the Uninor's message that porting is in progress)? Please somebody reply.
  10. Intel vs AMD

Love the fact that there are more AMD fans here than Intel.
  11. TATA Docomo ups SMS, STD Call Rates

I am still enjoying the services at the same existing prices. Not sure how this report came.
  12. Google+ Coming

    sonamkumar@gmail.com Thanks in advance!
  13. I may be dumb. But I love iOS. I am waiting for the iPhone 5. I am using Dell Streak ( Android 2.2) and I am not impressed with it. Apple is a closed system - accept it or leave it. But it is awesome. And for the people who really wants to play with iOS can surely jailbreak it. By the way take it this way - iphone 3gs = iPod touch plus phone. If you can buy an iTouch for 15k then it is surely not a bad deal.
  14. Around 10 days back - I recharged with Rs 41 STV that enables 30 ps STD. Since the offer was lucrative I just jumped on to it. Next day they started charging some arbitrary amounts. When I tried call the Customer Care - I could not reach them. No matter what number I dial - 121, 198 - eventually I get to hear - " Please dial *121# to start and stop services .. followed by an sms which says the same thing. I wrote a emails to them. No resolulation came. I wrote an email to Nodal officer. They replied me asking me - when it got deducted. How much. How many calls. Bloody that is your job. I am fed up. I just sent the message to port my number. Period. Highly frustrating. Bharti in the long run will perish. PS: I experienced a minimum of 10-15 call drops/day on Airtel network ( Cochin, NGO Quarters Area, Kakkanad)- past one month I am using it.
  15. Hello Everyone, I want to buy a basic dual sim ( GSM+GSM, active at the same time) phone My needs are phone call and SMS and a great battery life, so I do not want to spend a good deal on it. There are plenty of options - MicroMax, Lava, Karbon, Olive, Intex, Videocon, Intex, Samsung. I have never used these brands. Please advice me.
  16. Reliance Launches "My Statement" Service For Prepaid

    Something is better than nothing.
  17. MNP is here. Why not make a move? What I know is all the players are the same. Airtel has the most pathetic speed on EDGE ( Kerala). DoCoMO is better of the lot.
  18. Good & Cheap US Cellular Service?

Where in US youn will be staying? That's an important question as there are smaller regional players that offers cheaper deals than the biggies. T-Mobile offer somewhat cheaper plans. Also what would be your data usage?
  19. Looks costly from Indian context. To be honest, the services are damn too costly in every other country. Imagine $25 for 200 MB ( if you choose to tether) else $25 for 2GB on mobile ( The rates in the United States). Hopefully the competition will bring down the tariff - but it wont be like 6GB for 99 bucks .
  20. Reliance iCall

I was using RelianceIcall for making calls to India. I got a mail from them that the rates have been slashed by (upto) 60%. When I checked the website - they have infact increased the rates by 20%. Calls to Indian mobile is now 1.25 cents from the previous 1 cents flat. The saddest part is the way they are propagating wrong informations and misleading the consumers. Shame on Reliance! A big shame! By the way, is there any service which really offers cheap voip calls to India? PS:I wanted to pass this information to the masses - on the loot that RCOM is involved in.
  21. Here Comes My iPhone 4

Will it work with 3G in INdia? Try using BSNL 3G and update (if possible)! Congrats anyway!
  22. Hi Folks, I am planning to to buy a Blackberry Curve 8530 from the US. Now the question is when I return to India - can I hook up that phone with any CDMA operator? If yes, then which operator's blackberry Should I go for, depending upon the ease of unlocking - Verizon, Sprint, Virgin( Sprint backed)? Thanks.
  23. Blackberry Curve 8530 on TATA or Reliance or MTS?

Thanks everyone for contributing. The thing is - the 3G frequencies of ATT and T-Mobile is not compatible with Asian/ European operators. And phone without 3G - is a bad idea. So eventually thought to buy a CDMA blackberry. For the time being, trying a $10 data add on to work on my Nokia E71. Will get to know, tonight - if it will work or I need to hook onto a costlier data plan for Smartphones .
