  2. Dual Sim Motorola Milestone XT 800

I am on 2.1, would like to know how I can move to 2.2. The phone is rooted and hence allowing to use link2sd. Also overclocking to 1GHz. Most of the applications are on sd card using link2sd. Also moved many system apps to sd. For all practicle browsing purposes I m using Idea edge, when need to talk on Viber, then only I switch to reliance evdo. The performance is just amazing More than happy with this phone since january 12. The only problem is battery - lasts for a day - I think this is generic to most of the androids. Ordered an extra battery from amazon for 3$. Let me know if I can be of any help Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Dual Sim Motorola Milestone XT 800

inbuilt storage for apps is an issue. and it lags at times. i did not sell mine thou am using droid razr now. I am using link2sd from the beginning, never run out of space. I dont see any lag in performance also, may be because I m using class 6 card. I have numerous games installed atleast 6 big games more than 25 MB each, sygic is also installed with 600 MB of maps. So many other apps and still 90MB of data available. I dont think I can get CDMA with EVDO and GSM with EDGE in this price. I am using best of both worlds. I am so content with this phone that I dont know why should I change my phone. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Dual Sim Motorola Milestone XT 800

I m quite happy with it as I am able to install all my required apps, games. And its the only phone of its kind where cdma and gsm are supported. I m not going to replace it anytime soon. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  5. Good start. Such plans will come from all providers very soon. A bit expensive.

  7. Hi, Reviving this thread after 3 years. I can sell my old PC for 7k. So would like to know what would be the cost now, if I assemble a new PC. Requirement is simple. Most of the use is to surf web and play games. But I need some processing power as my daughter would require it once she moves to middle school. I would like to know what configuration I should look for and what would be the cost. Plz. help.

  10. Spice MI425 @ Rs. 9389 on ebay http://www.ebay.in/itm/Brand-New-Spice-Mi425-Dual-SIM-Android-4-1-Capacitive-touchScreen-1GHzProcessor-/190694839513?pt=IN_Mobile_Phones&hash=item2c664c54d9#ht_2263wt_905 It is with 1 GHz , 4.1" TFT, 2000 mAmp Battery, 800x480 pixels, Android 2.3 and official ICS ready, 5 MP camera + front camera, Dual SIM dual standby GSM. Now also rootable. With 5% and 10% ebay coupons it can cost even less. I bought one for Rs. 9389 – 938.90 after applying 10%coupon = Rs. 8450.10
  11. Best GSM Android Phones in India

Spice MI425 will get official ICS by July end. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  12. Installing The Android Apps Directly On SD Card?

^^ You need to partition your SD card. Create a small partition of say 512MB with ext2/3 or FAT32 format. You can insert the card in the phone. Link2SD will be able to recognize the partition. Then you can move any user application to the partition on the SD card. Root permission is required to use Link2SD.
  13. And with Amex card 7% discount the price from ebay becomes 12452 !
  14. IMHO Samsung series 5 is THE best. Sony bravia is equivalent however lacks capacity to play all video formats. I have researched on this for more than a month . Whatever claims other companies may do, they will not be able to match samsung/sony in two aspects - video and audio experience. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  15. That difference is already in the excel sheet I attached in the above post. However, though there is no official upgade on defy+, ppl are already on ICS on it. Actually, I asked you for your expert opinion - things which are coming from ur experience or from ur study. Anyway, thanks. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  16. Rajanbhai, I think, Karbon A9 is not yet rooted successfully - this is from the same link that you have mentioned. Though initially it mentions the rooting method - none of them worked. Otherwise I am impressed with the specs. I like you recommending Xperia Neo V or Ray. What about Defy+ ?
  17. I agree. But I guess, to run Android you need a set level of hardware. Besides that this phone cannot be Spice make, it must be a copy of something big coming up for a big brand in near future. Most of the hardware are coming from China and it is possible that these device is mostly imported. If you look at the specs they are using the branded CPU, GPU so major components are already branded. So I am not afraid of Spice especially this type of Android. Had it been regular phones, I would not go for it. However, I am still waiting for someone to root it. If the wait would be long, I have to decide for something else. Motorola recently launched a new version of Defy. - XT. And also Mini. However, unable to identify the difference. To me it seems that except a 50 mAmp lower battery in new versions everything is same. I have compared 10 Phones on just 11 important parameters here. Android Phones 10 to 15k.xls If Steller would not work, I am leaning on Defy+ and Xperia Ray. Have a look at the comparison.
  18. @KS I am sailing in the same boat. I was about to raise the same question as I also want to buy one for my wife and I too shortlisted defy+. However, for last 3 days, Spice's 5 days back launched, steller has got my fancy. The specs are superior than Defy+. It is 1Gz, 2.3, ICS promised, 4", 480x800, dual SIM (GSM), 5 MP, 2000 mAmp. more Detailed : http://mobiles.maxabout.com/spice/mi-425 The negatives for me are : not Gorilla glass, out of 512, 150 MB user memory, not able to root so far (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695807) The amazing thing is the price : Rs. 9800 !! If anybody is able to root it, I am game for it.
  19. Imported CDMA Handsets - Is It Worth The Efforts?

First link doesn't point to any specific information. But, I understand your doubt. However, I m getting idea bills for last 5 months and they never charged me for using data in roaming. I use it in maharashtra and gujarat. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Imported CDMA Handsets - Is It Worth The Efforts?

I have 100 MB of free data on Idea. It works perfectly fine on Moto XT800 with no additional charge on roaming. Add Motorola XT800 in this series. I am extremely satisfied since last 6 months. I am able to use EVDO on Motorola XT800 without any hassles. First I went to Web World and got an OMH in 15 min. flat. In the late evening requested CC to activate EVDO and it got activated by morning.
  21. Android Mobiles From India

  23. Right now I am in UK and saw three appealing phones. All three are of Orange brand. Monte Carlo (115 GBP), San Fransisco (100 GBP, San Fransisco II (90 GBP). The prices in the bracket are for pay-as-you-go phone including minimum recharge. All are Android. Need your suggestions on these. Also let me know how easy it would be to get them unlocked. I want to buy one for my wife.
