Hi guys,

Out of curiosity, asking this question

Any news from Nokia about releasing High end Multimedia mobile phones for CDMA users

We had Nokia 6265 & Nokia 6275

Can we expect something similar to the N-series mobile phones available in market for CDMA .. specially N73 is good.

Well you cant expect N-series like mobile at least one year from now.

As nokia stopped production for CDMA mobile phones.

You can expect good handset only if reliance approach them for special manufacturing of CDMA phones.

They have ready to launch product called NOKIA 6638.

But holding just because of patent war with qualcomm.

Guys dont worry... Even blackberry is getting available now in Reliance. But, we still cant expect high end CDMA phones, it is very rare. If you see for 6265, most of us waited for almost an year and a half to be available in India.

CDMA globally do not have varieties like GSM handsets because of operator locking and patent issues. Now since reliance has opted to promote classics it will remain dream and US operators are not going for RUIM to protect their profits, means we will not get good handset from US too. China Unicom handsets are RUIM based but they focus more on GSM and has entry and mid range handsets in their basket.

The future looks bleak as far as high end handsets for CDMA are concerned. Nobody is willing to budge from their stated positions and we subscribers only will suffer eventually.

Also I forgot to mention, even in US real data users prefer CDMA-EVDO over GSM-3G. I heard about many people who switched to GSM for handset got fed up and reverted to CDMA.

In US they give handsets at better prices and also better handsets than what we get. Though handsets are locked, they are not crippled like India.

Infact I think future of CDMA is bleak in India.

Configuration in CDMA is damn too complicated. China Unicom took 2 years to develop process of updating PRL of RUIM over the Air SMS. In India, reliance is still not able to provide international roaming on all RUIM enabled handsets. Because they can not configure it properly.

NOKIA 6638 has 1.2 megapixel camera.. nokia 6275 has better one (2 megapix)

Well any news from other mobile phone manufacturer ? like UTStarcom and so on ..

Will they come up with some thing like N-Series or E-Series from Nokia..

That's right.qualcom isn't allowing nokia to make symbian based cdma phones.also nokia isn't going for windows mobile os.so if and only if the stalemate is broken,we will be able to get good high end cdma handsets.so far i know,w m is very good for professionals, not for entertainment.where as symbian is good for both.am i correct?

Symbian is less resource hog than WM and its open source. WM and symbian has its own benefits. WM and symbian both covers business and entertainment needs. Same way all smart phone OS does the same thing. It depends what are your needs and fancy.
