Setting Time In Lg2030

Recommended Posts

the phone can also work on its own... its called "fake RUIM mode" where the phone uses its own ESN instead of the one on the RUIM chip. however, in this case the fake ruim mode is disabled. hence, the phone is unable to logon to the network and HENCE, no time display.

in summary, the phone gets time data from the network - no network no time display

I get a time display even when I'm in an area with no network...in fact, about 4hrs a day, I'm out of coverage area! :confuse:

The phone does have an internal clock. Thats why as long as you dont switch off the phone the time will be accruate. Depending on the phone or settings it will compare its internal time with the one beamed by the network. (Maybe it depends on the Slot Cycle) and any discrepency will be corrected.

When you switch off, or worse remove the battery, the time wont be displayed.
