My Dream, My Gtran

Recommended Posts

No friends you are wrong. New version of software is not currently available but is under development (as informed by GTran authorities)

Over here we will discuss the features that you will like to have in new version of software. But your views must have practical feasibility or they might be available in other handsets.

For SMS software I recommend following:

1. It supports word wrap feature.

2. It displays and automatically deletes acknowledgements received.

3. In list of SMS received it displays numbers of sender it will be better if it displays names of sender as in phone book.

4. It should be possible to add more words in Dictionary.

5. It has good memory so it should be possible to save more than 17 messages.

6. It should be possible to write SMS in Hindi as most phones marketed by Reliance supports this feature.

7. Number steps to send SMS should be minimized. Settings like save as drafts, save in outbox should be available where the acknowledgement setting is available at present.

8. It should be able detect duplicate messages and save it only once.

Ring tones:

It should enable playing voice ring tones. It should support midi as well as wav and mp3 format. Ring tones should be louder than those available in present version.

Charging

Indicator of battery should correctly indicate when the charging is complete.

Phone book

Animations in phone book which should be displayed in sub lcd when the respective caller rings.

It should display name correctly in SMS without any need to store number by adding 91 before it.

PC sync

It should enable users to send SMS typed using PC.

This software must be made available in Chandigarh :clap1: at some ASC or in web world Sec 35 or Sec 9 or Reliance Circle Head office Sec 9 (which includes Punjab, Haryana and Himachal).

Add your needs below.

I thought you had sent that wish list because you KNEW that such features didn't exist! What are they doing telling you the same thing again and again by changing sentences???

Some Customer Care!

Do you really have to tell them all this??? Even the good old B & W RD2030 has most of these features! And I used to think RD 2030 could do with a few improvements! Wow, you Gtran users sure seem to have purchased a real buggy toy, congrats!

Didn't you look into these things before you bought it???

v myt get software upgrade by deepawali or by New Year. software upgrade is going to be made available soon this is confirmed. this time GTran will come with a better software as we hv reported many of the bugs to them. but i don't hv any knowledge that which things hv been upgraded. lets hope 4 best.

racoon

GTran has got an exceptional PC Sync software which none of Reliance handset has got till date. even lg 7230 does not support upload feature which my GTran supports. i purchased gtran bcz of pc sync and i hope the new software upgrade will make gtran best handset.

Saurav, PC sync and all is fine, but surely your phone needs to do more than that, right!? If it hasnt got the basics right, like SMS, etc, etc (I don't have to repeat here), then the fancier stuff looses its charm! And thats why I (luckily) didnt upgrade to Gtran...

Anyway, now that you are stuck with it, lets hope they give you guys a satisfactory software upgrade... :)

each handset has certain bugs even LG 7230.

7130 suffers even from a more serious bug.

2030 is the best option though it has some bugs but can be ignored.

Yeah 5130 has some cool SMS features but has a serious/stupid limitation of sending 140 characters for those who want type/forward long sms like jokes etc.

I Hope the new software has the following;

1. The ringtone should be heard even in the Handsfree earphone, which is not case right now.

2. The Phone book should be easier to browse.

3. We should be able to Reject Incoming calls without opening the Flap.

4. Downloading of Java Games should be made possible.

5. Downloading e-books onto the phone (as it is possible on the Gtran same model available abroad)

6. Video files should be downloaded onto the phone.

7. The USB cable should also charge the phone while connected.

8. There should be a facility to add phone numbers to either the RUIM or to the Phone memory and a combined directory should be available for use.

9. SMS sending and receiving should be easier.

10. .....

Thanks in advance to whoever listens and responds.
