Palm Had A Mighty Fall ........n Is Still Breathing!

Guys,

Just half an hour ago, I was smoking merrely on my terrace (with my parents asleep, of course!) ,when an sms came. I just took my palm out and woops! It fell..........

Ran down to saw and was relieved that the phone was not physically broken, but i turned white on seeing that the display is gone. Just white lines on the screen........

Fear gripped me as this is my primary phone and that too without a sim (thatz the only -ve thing abt palm, instant intechangeability by swaping sim betwn phones is nt possible). Tried reinserting battery but was of no use man..............

Tried opening it with the tools but it wouldn't open (lock was apparently tighter). Inserted the battery and Eureka..........its back to normal again!!

Well, it was the third fall that i had after the initial two simple drops from my bed and in the washroom!!

Hang on nokia, the brand known for its sturdiness, yours days are numbered!!!!

The only test left can't be done by me, it will be done by my mighty cross breed mad pomerian dog (Rabby)!! Hang on guys, he is just not a simple dog.......For those who have seen marley and me, i think he is marley's dad!! The name rabby suits to him for he has bitten more than 15 people in our locality.......and add to it,he has already chewed the display of four phones in our home (2 LG, 1 fly and 1 samsung). None of them survived........

on a personal note i do feel that palm devices are sturdy and durable

Indeed they are.. i used mine with lots of carelessness as i use them normally... it was indeed durable and tough..

The sturdiness has reduced in the newer models... Pre is nowhere as sturdy as the 755p we all love...same way neither is Pro as sturdy as the Mogul...

Agreed palm pre is no where near to 700 / 755P. Even old PPC. Though probably built by HTC.

Even i was using lots of carelessness like normal cheap LG phones ...it had tested 2 -3 heavy fall but it survied them all... ...755 is indeed very sturdy device ...

Hey everbody, my phone survived to all my carelessness but couldn't escape from my g.f.'s throw. Screen crashed. Could anyone have stock of it for my palm treo 755 with you else post where i can get it from. Also i am looking from palm treo case. Please help me. i got all the contacts in that PDA but couldn't access.

If you are able to PC sync the phone you can retrieve your contacts that way.

I think as far as the screen goes, people have imported from ebay HK I think. Try that.

But pl check whether the whole unit needs replacement or juz the touchscreen.

I purchased it 8 months ago and it started behaving strangely from 5 months onwards. I paid 11.5K for it and it is now lying in my cupboard.

I want to get it repaired can any one please help.

wats d problem dat u r facing?

Sorry for replying late,my screen does not calibrate properly.

Secondly i can not end up the calls using touch screen neither i can call. Some times the key pad just stops working in all of a sudden and i am helpless in receiving phone calls.

In need some one who can repair it up. Seriously i feel pissed off by paying 11.5K for the phone which did not even last 1 year.

If you know some one who can fix it up in Mumbai do let know

after reading and hearing from users since last some mnths , i feel that palm treo isnt as durable as we all are talking abt

many users have complained touch screen problems , not to mention key and network issues as well

i have not seen that many mogul/touch users complaining abt touchscreens as much as i have seen treo755 owners having problems

no doubt its a solid phone , but now i have second thoughts abt durability of this handset on an average basis

Had same prob of touchscreen and keypad.

It took 30 mins for the mobilewala to repair it.

Some short circuit in the keypad it seems......

Get it checked, should not take more than 1 hr probably.....

on the other hand, try to open it urself (i don't think d risk is too much.its simple to open......refer youtube video....)

Try cleaning the keypad area with some soft cloth.........with treo,u never knw !!!

when i try to connect my set to internet -

it show retry 2-3 times and give error "error:3000:data service not

availiable in your area".

but after 30 second if i try again. it connect and work fine.

what is the problem. is there is any solution. i am using on reliance.
