Netconnect Broadband Via Tethered Phone?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am interested in tethering a prepaid reliance CDMA EVDO phone with my laptop. Does reliance allow tethered EVDO phones like for example Corby Speed or LG510, to connect at high speed or are they forced to CDMA 1x speeds ?

If Reliance does allow the same, please tell me the rates applicable.

Thanks again.

Vijay

It can be activated from Contact Centre. There is no issue in it.

For anyone facing problems in EVDO activation follow this procedure :

1 ) call *355 and ask them to transfer your call to netconnect+ dept

2 ) Once transferred, tell them that you have a new samsung corby ( don't mention any other model at all. These rcom guys are idiots and create issues if you mention any other phone )

3 ) Tell them you have an OMH RUIM ( necessary ) and have done *228

4 ) Ask them for A12Auth status on your account ( Thanks to Vikas Mahajan for this valuable info )

5 ) If A12 is off then ask them to activate it

The above procedure will take 12~24 hours.

Credit for all this goes to : Vikas Mahajan and Amit Jain. Amit ji especially helped me out a lot when I called him up for help with EVDO activation even though he couldn't do anything as my number was from outside NCR.

Edit : This is only to get EVDO activated on OMH RUIM card

No high hopes evdo on imported handset is possible only if one is ready to spend money and lucky to get evdo active on non ruim handsets like blackberry

i have read at many places that EvDO cant be activated on foreign handset. but i have doubt or suggestion. i may be wrong.

we are getting EVDO RUIM. activate EVDO on these RUIM and then transfer the number on non RUIM based number. load EVDO PRL on the handset, then it should work or not. as using RUIM details on the handsets.

i may be wrong. i thought of trying it. but couldnt do it as presently cant turn off phone due to certain official work. besides, i dont have OMH based handset as of now...
