Checked this handset about six weeks back at spice outlet. The handset comes with Android 1.6 only and would be loaded with 2.1 at a subsequent date.

And there were major issues in making and receiving voice calls.

I think Samsung Galaxy 3 (at 2k more) is a much better option.

ok. do you need to load it through the phone only or can load through PC.

but what & how good is a phone that gives difficulty in the basic function of making and receiving calls

They have put up a 139 mb download file with this link Mi-300-Eclair-Software-Update . So it seems that you can update through PC.

Cant say anything about making and receiving calls as you have already checked out the handset. May be that particular one had a problem.
