Graet Find Parin. But I am getting this mail:-

Hi Amitabh,

Thanks for supercharging your HTC device with Dropbox! To get the most out of your Dropbox and claim your extra 23 GB of space, visit our Getting Started guide!

Enjoy,

- The Dropbox Team

What do I need to do next ? The Getting Started Guide only tells me i'll get 250 mb per referral

I also tried creating a new account but no go. I did uninstall the old dropbox first and then installed this one.

Any idea why some of us are not getting the 23GB free space ?

Can someone who has got it mention if they used an existing account or created a new one with the Apps ?

I have used my old account id and username. I have done as mentioned in the first post and waited for some time, after 15 minutes later a message came to my email and when I checked, 23 GB was added to my account. And I revert back to the original dropbox software wihout any problem.

Dropbox have now realized that people are trying to game the system, and has now issued the following statement on its support forums:

The official Dropbox 23GB HTC promotion will not start until sometime early this month, when the devices are released. To earn the extra 23GB of extra Dropbox space you will need to link your HTC Sense 4.0 device to your Dropbox account and complete “Get Started.”

The method to earn 23GB that is being circulated on the XDA Developers forum and on other blogs and forums is illegitimate. We plan to remove any space received using this method.

Downloading apps from unknown sources is not a good idea, as they might have been modified to include malicious code. We strongly recommend that you only install the Android Dropbox app via Google Play (formerly known as the the Android Market) or from official download links on Dropbox.com.

I hope this helps.

best,

Sean

Members who have been using this exploit to illegitimately get the 23GB free space better backup the files on Dropbox as soon as possible before they get unceremoniously deleted.
