first he did the sms fix and then asked me if i want to do a re install of the software. I agreed and they returned my phone with kitkat. Since i was apprehensive that whether the fresh install would revert the sms fix he replied that the sms fix involves putting files in the system itself so they wont get wiped. just ask them to fix the sms issue with cdma. Do they accept the tempered & unlocked bootloader ? Mine shows the same when booted in bootloader. Plz guide step by step to revive it back to stock state so that they can accept it. I did not mess since most guys use GSM + GSM and i dont want to mess cdma in sim 1.

just back after visiting their service center in kamla nagar. indeed they have a fix for sms as confirmed earlier by HTC india and also their SE in Kamla Nagar. It took about 15 to 20 minutes and added some files to the system which as per them is the sms fix. . I had also complained about the high battery usage after kitkat for which he asked me if he should do a complete software install which i agreed too. He flashed a 1.5GB file from a sd card which took a bit of time. They get a list of known issues and the only one for the DS 802d is sms with cdma. He categorically told me that no purple camera issue has been reported on DS version as of now. Anyways now with the software fix done, I hope this sms issue is solved for good. and yes they unlock the bootloader and insert some files in the system for the sms issue and later lock it.

i spoke to HTC India, they said they are aware of the sms issue and we need to take our handset to their service center and they will do a software update to sort this problem. I asked them why they dont pass on a OTA update to all and sundry for which she said that not everyone is facing this issue so the only way is to go to their service center and ask for a software update.

you should call HTC customer care and report the issue.

hmm i also realized that i am not receiving sms on my cdma number. last sms i received was on feb 25 let me try the reset solution

Lenovo: Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon not our authorised resellers NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone and PC maker Lenovo has issued an advisory cautioning consumers when buying its products from e-commerce companies like Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon.in as they are not its authorised resellers. "What we have noticed in the past few months is that some of these sites, and largely due to a marketplace kind of a set up, there are a lot of resellers that have cropped up, which are selling at very low predatory prices. These we believe may or may not be an authorised or genuine products," said Sudhin Mathur, Director, Smartphones, Lenovo India. He added that the company has issued an advisory with a list of all authorised stores and genuine partners. "E-commerce websites like Snapdeal, Flipkart and Amazon.in are not authorised Lenovo resellers. We encourage you to check your warranty entitlements when you buy from these websites," Lenovo said in the advisory on its website. In a bid to woo customers, e-commerce companies offer heavy discounts on products, which are often below prices offered in the offline market. When contacted, Snapdeal said it takes "utmost care" to list products only by those sellers who have the necessary authorisation to sell these products. "Customers can rest assured that all the products including Lenovo and Toshiba products which are available on Snapdeal.com are genuine and eligible for warranty," a Snapdeal spokesperson said. yeah, its a hardware issue. the service guys will replace the camera module. It took HTC a lot of time and a 5000 post thread in xda to admit it as an issue. But now they proactively replace the module. lol. the only easy way to sort this issue is to keep the phone in the freezer for some time but it will return when the handset becomes hot with usage or replace the camera module :

a person posted this on HTC india FB page as to how he sorted the sms issue take out reliance sim do factory reset let the phone start, complete all steps it asks you to do(setup from scratch) now insert reliance sim sms issue will be solved.

cant understand this issue which some face and some not. btw i am on a post paid connection.
