  1. Rcom going to shutdown ??

I ported 2 RCom numbers RCom Delhi postpaid to Voda Kol prepaid and RCom Kol Postpaid to Airtel Kol postpaid. For Delhi No RCom raised a balance bill (upto the date of porting) of Rs.28. Vodafone kept sending SMS that Rs.28 is outstanding with previous operator and I need to pay and produce payment receipt at the nearest voda store or my number would be blocked after 2nd Jan. For Kol No RCom raised a bill of Rs.350 but no similar SMS received from Airtel.
  2. Rcom going to shutdown ??

It was always on the cards. More of a stage drama. Big brother wanted the spectrum and infrastructure but not the low ARPU customer baggage. So they first offloaded the customers. Looted the prepaid users of their unspent balance in the process. Anil Ambani hinted this long back when he openly claimed that there has been a virtual merger of RCom and Jio. RCom has the most efficient 850 Mhz band, both of its own and the spectrum taken over from MTS. So its extremely important for Jio scheme of things. PS: Made more with RCom shares in last 1 month than I paid them in 14 years
  3. What exactly is the nature of "weird restriction"? There may of course be certain circles where the service is yet to be launched. Read in the news that Vodafone is also starting VoLTE in Jan-18
  4. One of my numbers is Airtel Postpaid Corp infinity and I can confirm that there is no limitations in calling, except number of unique numbers called, and that seem justified.
  5. MyJio App

People started using multiple SIMs in India mainly to take advantage of special offers of different operators. One of the reason that forced manufacturers to concentrate on dual SIM handsets. In most other countries, a person has a single SIM or at best two. Here many have 4 SIMs and carry two dual SIM phones. Now that most operators offer unlimited calls, this no longer seems necessary. The age of consolidation has also started. RCom and MTS are gone. Even BSNL CDMA is gone. Tata Docomo and Aircel are on the way out. Soon there will be only Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, BSNL and Jio. So people will be forced to reduce the number of SIMs they have and the ARPU would go up to around 200/mth. One more factor is Adhaar linking. Legally, a person can have a maximum of 9 connections in his name across all circles and across all operators, including both mobile and datacard connections, but this is not practically enforced as there is no common database. With adhaar linking, all connections would be linked to a particular adhaar and so it would be easy to find the number of connections in one adhaar.
  6. MyJio App

459 voucher gives unlimited calls + daily 1 GB for 84 days. A person has to spend 447 for 84 days if recharging with 149 and only get unlimited calls + total 12 GB. With 50 discount voucher 449 becomes 409. So recharging 149 does not seem a wise choice.
  7. MyJio App

I would rather prefer adding recharge when specific offers are available and queuing them up for future. that also serves the same purpose.
  8. Those who did initially also go 5 GB extra per month, plus cashback from wallets. But most went for multiple 399.
  9. MyJio App

    whether wallet linking option available
  10. MyJio App

    linking with card? no safe
  11. For those who have 50 recharge vouchers, loading 2 vouchers of 459 together will give 2 GB per day for 84 days at effective cost of 272 for 28 days which is cheaper than 299 plan. For most ordinary users, the 149 plan is now good.
  12. Jio Cinema has been available on desktop for long. Jio TV is the new addition. It requires (i) login with Jio ID and also (ii) Jio network (through wifi or otherwise)
  13. The fact that Airtel opened Payment Bank accounts without consent is wrong and needs to be dealt with strongly. However, the credit of LPG subsidy to such account is not the handiwork of Airtel. It is a basic flaw in the system of LPG subsidy credit for which the concerned agencies/UIDAI themselves are responsible. The LPG subsidy gets credited to the last bank account that has been linked with Adhaar, irrespective of whatever bank account a customer has opted to receive subsidy given in his written application. This has been faced and reported by many. e.g. If a customer has an account in SBI and linked it to Adhaar and then given a written application to receive subsidy in that account, the subsidy is expected to be credited to that account only. But if 3 months later, he linked his second account (say with PNB) with adhaar then the subsidy would start getting credited to PNB instead of SBI, without the consent of the customer and even without any intimation to the customer. Now further 3 months later, if he opens an account in ICICI with the same Adhaar, the subsidy would start getting credited to ICICI, again without his consent and without any intimation. This is a known issue and people have raised complaints against it but UIDAI has done nothing on this. So it is the concerned agencies and UIDAI who are responsible for the credit of the Rs.167 Cr to Airtel payments bank.
  14. Suggest 4G Smartphone

Can you confirm that you can simultaneously get VoLTE in Jio and also functional 3G data in second SIM? I also use RN3 but the moment I select internet data option as second SIM, the second SIM becomes LTE and the 1st SIM becomes 3G without data. There is no option to select connection mode for non-data SIM. Only the internet enabled SIM gives the option to select between 2G, 3G and LTE.
  15. Suggest 4G Smartphone

No such phone available in market. All available phones require data enabled mode for LTE to work. Jio can not work without LTE. So if you want Jio active, you can not get data in second SIM. Most phones only give 2G in secondary SIM. However, some Mi phones give 3G based voice in secondary SIM. Redmi Note 3 works on 4G active + 3G Voice mode. If you want only Voice in Jio and data in different SIM, you must use 2 different phones. You can use Micromax Bharat 1 as a secondary phone with Jio for voice purposes.
  16. This becomes a learning point for others. Never use international roaming on Jio. Use call forwarding and any other SIM.
  17. Rcom going to shutdown ??

received following SMS from RCom "Please pay your bill amt of XXX.XX by 12/12/2017 to avoid interruptions in your current mobile services. Reliance" My number is already ported to Airtel Postpaid and the RCom bill is for the fractional period of Nov till the date I received the SMS "Success! Phone RECORD is successfully deleted from the database". Can Rcom stop services in Airtel?
  18. not sure if Jio support call forwarding to other Jio numbers. if yes, then if your problem sorts out, take another jio SIM and use that for roaming in future, using call forwarding feature in your main number. same applies for anyone else who wants to use Jio for IR. there is a possibility that the issue may get sorted out once the validity of your IR recharge is over. on the other hand, I have a doubt that even with SIM change, as long your IR pack is active, you may not get VoLTE.
  19. Rcom going to shutdown ??

RCom did not adjust my security deposit in either accounts. Both were taken under the original DAPO scheme. Last month I had paid excess amount just to ensure that my account shows credit balance and there is no difficulty in porting. They have now generated bills for the part-month of Nov-17 till date of porting, after adjusting the earlier excess paid but without adjusting security deposit..
  20. Rcom going to shutdown ??

RCom sent me 2 bills for numbers already ported. Bill shows rental/usage for Nov-17 till date of porting.
  21. Rcom going to shutdown ??

I ported 2 numbers back to back (initiated on consecutive days) R-Kolkata to Airtel-Kol and R-Delhi to Voda-Kol with same adhaar and both were processed successfully.
  22. Airtel VoLTE is now LIVE in Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana.
  23. Rcom going to shutdown ??

Health and Education are always primary responsibilities of Govt. I have recently traveled extensively in Tripura and found a large Govt hospital and a Govt high school every 15 km or so. It is the only State where Pvt hospitals are begging for business and Govt hospitals are bursting with patients. Transport, including building of roads and basic postal services are also definitely core sector. Defence can never be privatised. But telecom is no longer a core sector.
  24. SMS for eKYC verification

Received following 2 SMS in my RCom numbers "Dear customer Hon'ble Supreme court has made re-verification thru eKYC mandatory. Visit nearest RCom outlet with Adhar number to complete reverification." "Dear customer you can get your mobile number verification code via SMS. Type PULLVC and send to 55333" Got following questions. 1. Any one else got them? 2. What does the second SMS mean? 3. One of my number is from Delhi Circle and I presently shuttle between Kolkata and North East. So can that be verified while on roaming? 4. One number was in the name of my mother. She had expired. But we are still using the number. Can I get it transferred to my name through this verification process?
