i find this to be funny, its like one car manufacturer telling the other that you can't have 4 wheels as that is our patent. Technology should be there for benefit of all. Apple is just trying to be selfish and greedy. Guess this shows how much hold Samsung and Android has on the market. I feel sad for Apple, that ban may hold in US, but other countries Samsung will rock and sell like hell. Also this Ban would not help as people would procure phones from outside US and use it . Just the way we guys get phones from US and use them here, So net- net i see advantage for Samsung in the end, i am sure their sales would pick up after hearing this news, as people would hit the stores to get whatever stocks that are available.

The plan is simple, move or migrate all customers to Docomo 3g and use CDMA only for data services. This is the reason why they are not entertaining any port in request for cdma , and are not selling new cdma connections in most of the places. Only in Delhi i feel this would not be applicable as they do not have license for gsm there.

Agree on the same, i went through a big struggle to get my no ported from reliance prepaid to tata cdma prepaid and i am still struggling for porting to happen. Also there are hardly any retailers who have stock or are selling the indicom cdma connection. They all are pushing to sell Docomo 3G connection and are not interested in cdma at all.

The seller whom i bought from does not have any more stock listed on ebay.in. But i did find another seller for the keyboard. They are selling 3G connections here, i have never used reliance GSM so don't know how it is. Have always been a Reliance CDMA customer from last 9 years.

Well, i got this tip from one of our forum member's Saket , instead of going to the Docomo customer care center to try local retailer shops and see if they take the request. I went to around 6 to 7 shops, they all wanted to take the request but did not have any tata cdma sim in stock. Finally after inputs from Saket got a shop who had a indicom cdma sim , i filled up the porting form he called someone and he said yes it can be ported on this sim. So keeping my fingers crossed. If this works then probably you guys can also try the same.

Yea, that's really surprising, recently i gave my documents and got a free T-24 no, which big bazaar is giving for regular shoppers, the other day i called their customer care and was surprised to find the connection in my name but address of a different customer and place. So god only knows who and how the back end data is updated. But for MNP i have heard the new provider whoever you port your no out to, would come for verification , in postpaid porting from Reliance to Airtel, they came for verification at home and called also, Is it similar for prepaid porting also, will they come home for verification or will just do it on the phone. As i heard from few friends that for prepaid verification no one comes home, they just verify from back end and give a call on your no to confirm.

Have requested for port out from reliance prepaid and planning to move to indicom CDMA. Let's see if it happens as the connection is on a different name. I have submitted my documents to tata retailer and filled up the porting forms.

Want to share my porting experience of reliance prepaid to docomo cdma. I raised a porting request, didn't get the details from reliance. Finally had to bombard the customer care with calls and got my port out no. Called docomo customer care line and they asked to visit the nearest store with documents and details. I went to the Koramangala store after filling up the form and submitting the fun started. The counter guy posted a sticker of GSM no and gave me the sim. I said i don't want GSM i want CDMA and the response i get is not available and he points me to another guy.I go and speak to this guy and he says we are having technical issues so we are not porting to CDMA, what a lame excuse, this really made me angry and i said i want to talk to a manager. Went to manager;s cabin, this guy is just sitting on his desk doing time pass, he does not even know what the reps outside are communicating and he being a manager is asking his subordinates that can't we port to CDMA, can't we port to postpaid. I asked for his name and he was not ready to disclose his identity, i told him i wasted 30 minutes here and you are saying porting to cdma is not possibile,why did your customer care direct me to here. His repsonse was they did and i did not say to you that you can port to cdma. Finally Mr Praveen gave me his name and i walked out of there. Tata is just pushing customers to GSM and they are not interested in giving cdma connections, later on after talking to Saket realised that what he has been saying all along is true, where they want to use CDMA for data service only and are pushing customers to GSM, they are even trying to push existing cdma customers to GSM. I am sad to see the state of Indian telecom providers, wish someone looked into this and did something.

Yea, on Ebay everyone is selling for 6k+. So if anyone selling mint condition 2.5k it would surely be a good deal.

I am using MR3020, its a good modem, giving satisfactory service. No issues till now.

Getting my last postpaid connection which was 5 years old ported to Airtel now, as network issues are still there and signals are fluctuating all the time leading to dropped calls and vlice break. Next would be my landline as i am on the unlimited plan. Once the postpaid is migrated will downgrade the plan. Wish they had porting option for wireline too, life would be so good.

That's certainly good to hear. As of now my search for a used modem continues.As they have good coverage of EVDO in Bangalore and they should not loose focus on this.

Hey even iam in hsr layout . I stay in sector1 how about you? any idea where the evdo tower is located in Hsr ,on my nokia phone I am getting 4 bars of signal.

I agree on the same ,when I went to get my connection theywere only having prithvi.So I only got the sim and did not buy the modem. My hunt for a temporary modem continues till the one I have ordered from US comes in.
