^^^ You are absolutely right that moving to Postpaid is the biggest advantage to avoid such unwarranted activations. But price to nearly 85 - 90% subscribers is also the biggest consideration, my dear friend. Thats why most in India are on prepaid. The Service Tax is itself absorbed mostly on prepaid by most operators. Plus in postpaid, you do not get many atractive tariff plans as compared to prepaid. Lets not get into the merits and demerits of post vs pre all over again, as it has been discussed many times threadbare here on this forum and elsewhere also. To each man his own liking. What I would like to state is that the operators should not resort to unwarranted activations at all to offset the low pricing advantages of prepaid.

The same thing happened to me also recently. I also dialled *123# by mistake and voila, some pack or the other got activated, complained, amount reversed. The next day, voila, yet another pack is activated automatically and then again the same story, complaina nd amount reversals. Again the next 2 days no packs were activated. Yet again, on the 4th day same sequence of events. It is exasperating to say the least. I gave the CCE the choicest expletives about RCOM and they instantly refunded my money all the times alongwith a SMS confirming the same. All in all, RCOM has gone from bad to worse. BTW, balac_m, do you know that Rs 148 pack has been stopped from 16th March 2012. Still it is available in RCDMA, but no idea whether the party will continue or end in a few days. Make hay while the sun shines.

How about switching off the 3G or wifi while using such apps? Will the app/game not work properly if the data is off? I switch off data when playing Angry Birds. It works much the same as when the data is on, and only problem is that the ads are shown when the data is on.

Incidentally, I received the following SMS yesterday from RCOM (rm-651234): - " RCOM ranked 1st in the Telecom Sector & 6th Best Company to work for. We assure you the best of our services at all times. Thank You. Reliance." So now why are they sending this SMS to all customers - do they want their customers to work for them now or what?

Yes its a fact! I also experienced a lag in performance of my phone sometime back and I removed the SD Card. After removing it, the performance improved. After that I changed the SD Card. Now no problems.... +1 to RM

The only problem I have faced with my Photon (when on GSM mode) is - No USSD, No Call Conferencing (even on CDMA mode) Rest all features are already posted. Also see Kapil's latest post on Droid 3.

^^^ I had the restart problem initially (and it was quite bad), then Hetalbhai advised me this factory reset and after that, no probs till date. Even today, I have almost 150 apps or maybe more on my phone. My feeling is that what is the harm in loading 150 or 250 apps as long as the phone's processor is capable of crunching it. I am not a techie, I may be wrong. Correct me, if so.

So Dinc2 also seems to have almost the same type of problem as Photon 4G!!! In Photon 4G, the phone restarts - the solution here is almost the same as above - do a factory reset and then all's well...

Only way out of this issue, is to surrender all postpaid connections and go prepaid.... Or even that is vulnerable to CIBIL's rule? I am myself a victim of CIBIL's bad credit rating. It was about 7 years back, now it has been finally rectified and I have a score of around 865 now. I am happy now atleast, but trust me 7 years to rectify mistakes is not a joke by any standard.

Kanaga, Hetalbhai gave me my two Photons (1st one a month back and the 2nd one just a week back for my cousin) with the following: - Build Number: 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7 and System Version: 45.3.7.MB855.Sprint.en.US Like you, I also browse the Motorola forums a bit and I found that my above Build and System Version 198_7 are still not available on Motorola website. It still recommends the older version 198_6. So does this mean that my version is leaked version? And what are the pros and cons of the 198_7 over the 198_6? Thanks aalok for directing me to kapil's topic. I have gone through that topic and I note that Mujeeb tried out the method, but no success. To be frank, I did not try it out. I will try it out and report here if it works. BTW is Call Conferencing not available on PHOTON for CDMA postpaid/prepaid or GSM Postpaid/Prepaid? From my RCDMA postpaid also, it is not working. I used the stock dialer, called the 1st number, then add call, dialled the 2nd number - this did not connect at all and I was automatically reconnected to the 1st number. Though there was a merge button visible in the dialler, it did not work at all. Will try it with prepaid later and report here. Mods/Admins: Sorry for the off-topic, if possible please move this to the correct thread.

I read somewhere on the Motorola forums that once a day removing of your battery for about 5 minutes will solve many problems. I have more than 180 apps now on my Photon and I do not see any performance drops as yet (maybe due to the powerful dual core processor, also), so I have not had to try this battery pull out as yet. Maybe this is related only to Photon, not too sure abt Dinc2 or any other phone. Try it out, it may help.
