Well I too own MTS pospaid wifi 999 plan from last 6 months. But I still don't think that they have switched me to 20+20 plan. Let me check this month cycle. But yes there MTS people are cheating now. They are completely ignoring what is called 'net neutrality'. Apart from throttling torrents big time, they are applying all type of algo for determining speeds to be provided to particular user. The various parameters are like age of connection - user is provided good speed for first three months of connection, type of content - browsing is giving preference over downloading and so on, torrrents being last, usage pattern of individual user etc. And add to this they have switched to high compression data transmission which is way too buggy. The webpages show 'encoding error' several times and show correctly only after several refersh, 50% of jpegs show up a corrupted (rainbow) even after refresh, and lastly and more severe issue is that due to this compression the data used is widely incorrect & clearly over-reported. All and all, the speeds have dropped drastically for me in last 3 months (700-1000 kbps max). Too much throttling - Impossible to download anything on torrent. Corrupt pages, images, downloads due to buggy compression, shaky connection getting reset every few minutes. I bought the dongle for 1500 and it is the ZTE one which cannot be unlocked (it doesn't has SIM tray). Bad experience with MTS. Have been trying to switch to prepaid from 2 months but MTS crooks are not doing. Looks like I have no other way out but to close the connection. Sujit are u sure they changed ur plan too 20+20. Does ur bill say that. I mean my latest bill still shows unlimited revB. I called customer care and they said that I would continue to be on 40 GB. Only new connecitons are on 20+20. Also, Hope MTS has not switched u to 12+12 u being in Dlehi. Did they? I don't think they can do this for old users.

Sujit, is Reliance Pro 3 dongle available in Delhi/NCR. I mean the network here is Rev a only. Just curious why did u dumped ur MTS dongle if the speeds were better

200 GB !! The party won't last long IMHO. It's an old trick where Reliance allow unlimited for few early users to attract the crowd. Enjoy while it lasts!!

How is the MTS network in Delhi/CR region mainly wrt data usage. Also, does the default SM provided by MTS for a new prepaid connection is OMH that can be used in any smartphone and recharged with smartphone vouchers? or there is a still a concept of 'smartphone SIM' that is talked about on internet that must be taken if one wish to use the SIM with smartphone and recharge with smartphone vouchers. If someone has taken a new MTS connection in Delhi cricle recently in past 6 months or so, please help.

Got a MTS prepaid connection. Very very poor coverage in NCR. Signals are weak and too fluctuating. EVDO signals are missing at most places. No signals inside house. Not even 1x. Wasted money In my opinion stay away fro MTS in NCR.

Just curious - why type B cannot be unlocked? What protection it has that cannot be unlocked.

hmm.. I also think that ZTE devices are slightly of better quality than Haier. RimWeb experts may tell better Let's see how this ZTE phone is as compared to Reliance Haier CG220. The only difference I can see in specs is that ZTE has 262K screen while Haier has 65 K though both have same size/resolution. Also the keypad arrangement is different. ZTE arrangement looks odd as it is having two call keys - one for GSM and another for CDMA in oppose of Hair's unified CALL key. Also at least in pics the Haier phone looks rich while ZTE phone has cheap looks; don't know of practical use. There were reports (some from forum members too) that Haier phone had issues if both CDMA and GSM are used together. Let's see how ZTE phone performs. ZTE phone has Rex OS. Don't know which OS Haier CG220 has. 1000mH battery should be a letdown. ZTE should have included at least 1200mH if not 1500 mH to give it an edge wrt to Haier CG220. This ZTE phone is already available in 'unlocked' form on several online sites at effective (after coupon) price of about 2100-2200. So the price of year old Haier CG220 model should get a bit low now. Still wondering whether this phone comes 'unlocked' from MTS or was it unlocked so fast. Also does internet (CDMA 1x) works in the unlocked phone and phone as modem. If anyone has a chance to look at or anyone purchased this phone, please post review.

this plan is listed for Rs. 599 on website for karnataka circle. You got it for Rs. 500. That's a good discounted price.

Freinds, out of no where a thought of trying out programming (unlock) my Reliance huawei ec1262 dongle (just as a fun activity to see how CDMA programming works ) got into my mind. So I started at it after reading some online resources and getting hold of few tools. But after some initial success am stuck at a point. Here is what I have achieved: - Got the SPC - Flashed to stock Firmware ==> but looks like that it is retaining the card lock & all user NAM settings. Is it normal? - Tried changing the RUIM setting to RUIM_Pref, and then to RUIM_only, but still the "SIM not detected' shown when dongle is attached with RUIM inserted. - Tried to clear all NAM settings (except PCH A, B etc.) but still surprinsingly many vaues like MIN are not getting cleared (just tried to change SPC to 000000 but it is also not happening) Now the situation is that still "SIM not detected' is shown when dongle is attached with RUIM inserted (and of course the default non-RUIM config/number is lost too ) - Is this due to the fact that this dongle has ESN number but NULL (zero) MEID? If yes, is here a way to set MEID or whatever - Is there a way by which we could set NAM2 as default via programming (or else) - The dongle still shows as "card locked". Can it be really? Am I missing something basic? Now that the dongle is not working in the default configuration, I just hope that I could get it working. Friends/experts, any pointers would be appreciated. (Please excuse if I have just made a trivial mistake. I am not even a beginner).

Did this, but surprisingly the dongle still remains locked after flashing with this firmware. Looks like some values of the dongle are locked and cannot be overwritten.

Rs. 500 just for SIM (conneciton) or with any FRC/initial benefits? OMH/Smartphone SIM should not cost more than Rs. 25. If MTS is taking Rs. 350 (for existing) or Rs. 500 (for new conneciton) jut for OMH EVDO activated smartphone SIM then it is a plain loot.

Can't say.. let my card get back to lif then we can say The firmware version before and after is same as 11.102.14.01.114.B416 Downloaded the firmware of ex1262 from DCL site. The firmware was actually showing for ec1260, but it worked fine for me too. Yes, I have the generic latest Huawei MP now, but still it shows "SIM not detected" Actually it looks to me that it is still in "card locked" state (don't know why & how). I cannot blank out the MIN etc from NAM though I have SPC. I do have snapshot of NAM setting which I can write back. I don't think that firmware is corrupt. Do you think that I have to flash back to OG firware to get the default config work? Also do you have OG firware for this particular model ec1262 or is it the one for 1260 which works for this. I think being new to this I am certainly missing an important step. I don't have licensed (or else) copy of CW or DFS or DCL. Just did the above mentioned things with demo version. Can someone guide me. Can this be done just by self without the automated unlock by SW or DCL? Attached are screenshot of current NAM settings.

We have are number of recharge denominations of different types like top-ups, combo, STV etc. etc. with different benefits. And these keep changing pretty regularly. Now the Reliance website (plans and packs) is not updated to reflect the most current valid denominations and their benefits, myservices only list few of them (I am sure it does not list all available denominations valid for that number), customer care as usual has limited info, the IVR option at *333 to get the denomination benefit is very limited and too buggy. So the big question is how & where to find the list of all currently valid recharge denominations with their benefits available for my number? Is this information available consolidated somewhere? Everytime I think of recharging my mobile I miss such a consolidated clear list! Am I alone or others also find themselves in same situation?

OMG, so much negative balance. When TATA systems are so unpredictable & bad while using data, looks like it is better to keep away from using data on TATA CDMA. Who has time & patience to take risk of such tensions!!

And how much was the negative balance? Was it only Rs. 12?

So how do you deal with negative balances? Are you able to convince the tata customer care to wave it off every time OR do you throw & change the SIM OR do you take the loss and recharge to positive balance.
