  1. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Who said 'forced conversion' - Read my post carefully "CDMA user never wanted to upgrade but were forced by Rcom". And a CDMA handset user would have opted for MNP - to which CDMA Network ? Whose stupidity/ignorance user or Rcom? Some users bought costly CDMA handsets and data cards just months before - Yes it was there stupidity as they were suppose to know that Rcom is going to give them a situation/blow where they will be left in dilemma.
  2. News everywhere read below. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/technology/story/jio-sim-is-free-but-some-retailers-are-selling-them-in-black/1/754374.html https://www.thequint.com/technology/2016/08/31/watch-sting-video-of-free-reliance-jio-4g-sims-being-sold-illegally-for-upto-rs-1000-in-delhi-ncr-markets हम कब सुधरेंगे ? (Hum kab Sudharenge ?) First party (Jio) is giving sim for FREE to Second party (Consumer) and Third party (Dealers/Retailers) is making money. Now people will ask Mukesh to appoint / depute his staff to monitor that such black marketing should not happen. फ्री में दो ऊपर से निगरानी भी करो (Free mein do upar se monitor bhi karo) - Who is morally responsible for this Black marketing ? Seller / Purchaser.
  3. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Alas! still faith in Rcom. Seems you are totally ignorant of what happened last few months. Read the forum posts and things will clear why everyone is frowning at Rcom.
  4. JioFi2 MiFi

You are right! Call on 1977 and you will be forwarded to customer care within shorter time. Call on 198 early in the morning 5:30 - 6:30 AM will get through within 10 mins.
  5. It is not taking that much time - Some people are selling SIM in black and is rumored by them only that it is taking too much time. When you get Token - dates given are of the same day after 1 or 2 PM onward for collecting sim (one hour slots) and in exception sometimes next day (Crowd is more on Holidays, Saturdays & Sundays and they give priority to those who buy LYF handset or JioFi device so the dates get further pushed). So avoid going on weekends. I have been to stores who are giving sim directly too. One of my friend went last Saturday and directly got his sim - and is now activated too. By the end of this month SIM will also be available at other outlets/dealers.
  6. Actually every mobile user does not possess 4G mobile and Reliance Jio doesn't want to ignore those users who use mobile merely for calling. Smart move. 2G coverage also matters when the operator wants to maintain connectivity in the remotest area.
  7. SIM is available everywhere - but if you ask - the store people say that they have stopped giving Token come after so many days etc. just to keep the rush down. Go to the store early and stand in Que - at around 10 AM store will open and thereafter they will issue simple paper token to few people with date and time. Generate a coupon on your 4G handset using MyJio app and take it with you along with Aadhar Card (nothing else - not even photo - No CAF filling etc.). While giving the SIM they will use your Thumb for e-KYC verification and the SIM will get Activated within 2 - 3 days (Only put the SIM in your handset after you receive message on your alternate number asking you to do so otherwise activation may be blocked or delayed on your that particular SIM). After activation only incoming starts and other goodies will get activated within 1 hour to 24 hour (otherwise call 198).
  8. JioFi2 MiFi

You don't need to do anything - "Jio Welcome Offer" gets activated by itself. Login to MyJio app and you will be able to see you plan.
  9. This means all SIM cards are with pre allotted numbers and prepaid by default, but the postpaid plan is actually set by Team Jio as per the order for activation on the same SIM. They are doing so because they don't have blank SIM - and a postpaid user cannot choose number of his choice as offered by other telecom operators for postpaid subscribers. Though the plan is postpaid one has to settle for a pre allotted number available and cannot choose number of his choice from the series at present.
  10. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

I recharged twice and transaction was successful but did not get any benefit and the money was refunded after 5 days back to my bank. When inquired at 198 - they asked me to ignore this recharge as it is not valid. Similarly ₹51 recharge is under DATA_COMBO which says 1GB for 15 days but gives roaming pack instead. Lost some money trying different recharges. Reason I said "Anil ki satak gai hai".
  11. We all know that a prepaid number can be converted into postpaid from the back end if they want. Please check the Sticker - Is it written Prepaid beside "Not for sale" ?
  12. Prepaid is the price of SIM !! Ha ha ha. The price will appear in place of "Not for sale" in future when the SIM will be available for purchase and Prepaid or Postpaid will marked beside that. As far as the box on the right bottom corner is a design by default (the Prepaid Base Tariff 2p/sec etc. is also mentioned at the bottom - but does not mean anything) FYI - neither Postpaid nor Prepaid box is ticked since the sticker is self-explanatory and Qr Code has all the details - a part of which is peeled off and is pasted on the CAF with all details in it including Allotted Mobile number, ICCID (SIM number), IMSI number & Circle Code as well as a copy of QR Code containing all this information for scanning. Prepaid Sims are marked because they have pre allotted number associated with them. Later on they will have BLANK Sims which can be used for New Postpaid/MNP connections as well as for replacement for either Postpaid or Prepaid lost or damaged SIM.
  13. Yes!! I think at present they are interested in reaching their target by simply providing Prepaid SIM. http://www.thehindu.com/business/Industry/reliance-jio-falls-short-on-acquiring-customers-by-almost-half-of-target/article9096965.ece And they would start MNP or switch between prepaid to postpaid only after 1st January 2017 IMHO. POI problem is deliberately move by other operators to create panic among users. But by the time RJio launches commercially in January 2017 I think almost every 4G mobile user must be having one Jio SIM and most of the calls or video calls might not require point of interconnect at all since it will be from Jio to Jio. It is the duty of all telecom License holders to provide sufficient POI to handle calls without drops.
  14. FYI - I have been to 9 Stores in Mumbai and believe me they only have Prepaid SIM with Pre - allotted numbers and they are not at all entertaining Postpaid or MNP customers at the moment.
  15. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Switch to Jio - if not possible, then go and get new Jio SIM.
  16. Jio4GVoice App (JioJoin)

Absolutely right! I also vouch for VoLTE hanset with Band 3/5/40. Jio4GVoice IMS calls are processed by the subscriber's S-CSCF (Serving Call State Control Function) in the LTE network. The connection to the S-CSCF is via the P-CSCF (Proxy Call State Control Function). RJio easily detects the amount of data used for voice calls and can deduct the amount from the total data consumption. But the user has to trust RJio for whatever is considered for voice data rebate while billing / accounting data. Using VoLTE frees the user from facing such situation as the calls are handled independently and not through the normal data connection. Big reason for VoLTE consideration against Jio4GVoice.
  17. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

God knows there might be an internal deal between Jio and Rcom to absorb or take over the 4G subscribers of later from 1st January 2017.
  18. Yes you are right Blue/Orange doesn't really matters. I have not seen any blue pouch here in Mumbai so can't comment on that but as far as Orange pack is concerned - Only the sticker with details do matter. Prepaid is clearly mentioned with pre alloted number on my Orange pouch and while taking my sim I asked them about postpaid SIM and they confirmed that they only have prepaid sim at the moment.
  19. They are spoiling their own reputation by doing such immature activities which cannot last for long. Instead they should take up the challenge and come up with some new offers instead. Every telecom operator is feeling insecure since Jio has much more to offer than just calls and data. Jio has if not re-invented but surely rejuvenated the data regime in India with more innovations for a common mobile user. The Jio App funda is really great. Reason why Jio opted for Multi-Service Operator (MSO) License last year through its subsidiary Reliance Jio Media Pvt Ltd.. 20. Jio4GVoice App (JioJoin)

Data used for voice call or sms will be free. Only data used for video calls will be chargeable. But while making a video call in my VoLTE phone I don't have to keep data connection on. Video calls work with data off in VoLTE - so does this mean that VoLTE users will be exempted from video data charges?
  21. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

You are right! They did blunders - CDMA user never wanted to upgrade but were forced by Rcom so that Rcom could fulfill their share agreement with Jio. Secondly after upgrade Rcom could have allowed 4G customers to recharge with 3G packs so that the customer could survive but they insisted us to recharge with over charged 4G packs. Vodafone is giving me 1GB 4G/3G data for 28 days at ₹147 since months (through *121# offers regularly) and Rcom is stuck with ₹297 /1GB for 28 days (No offer in *129#). Even Rcom 3G customer gets good offers through *129# - I am using a Rcom 3G SIM too). Only God know why they are heading towards a sucide mission?
  22. Reliance 4G Data Pack Offers

Bluetooth will not give you high speed as using a WiFi dongle - buy Nano wireless USB adapter available on ebay.in ₹150 onward (Brand Leoxsys, Edup, etc.).
  23. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Hence Rcom ARPU has dropped and they cannot offer reduced price for 4G. But if they continue like this they wil be further loosing their market share.
  24. Reliance 4G Data Pack Offers

It is 100% FREE. Go to nearby Reliance Digital or Digital Express Mini store before the shop opens - to stand in que. Collect appointment Token. Then go at the time mentioned in token with just your Aadhar and get your SIM with e-KYC verification. If you don't want to stand in que then Buy JioFi device for ₹1999.00 with bundled SIM with welcome offer. There is no differenciation i you use SIM in JioFi or Mobile handset as plans are common unlike others who charge extra for using SIM in dongle.
  25. Welcome to Jio!! Prepaid or Postpaid ? Orange or Blue pouch ? MNP or New number ?
