After public outcry, TRAI has intervened.

Now, the minimum validity recharge has been reduced to 23 by Airtel and 24 by Voda.

    To recharge from main balance,

for airtel dial *121*51# and choose 23. it can also be put on auto renew mode.

for voda dial *444*24#. no auto renew option.

for idea dial *369*24#. no auto renew option.

After massive porting out request it was bound to happen.

This was bound to happen. There are millions of customers who do not recharge for months but enjoy incoming facility and telcos are burden with maintaining service to them without single paisa coming in. Due to extremely low plans, nad eroded margins, they can't afford such connections.

The problem will be for those in lower income groups as only one connection is generaly used for outgoing and rest for incoming. It will be hard for them to maintain all connections.

I would say Airtel & Vodafone are "Fishing in troubled waters" since, now they are just trying to improve their ARPU figures by shredding low ARPU users or forcing recharge upon them. I totally agree with you regarding the burden of maintaining such huge network but it is not going to help them by taking this step as by the way of loosing customers they cannot reduce their maintenance expenses but instead more calls will terminate to other networks.

Though it is going to fetch them some quick revenue but is surely going to affect their future business, since many lifetime validity users were suppose to recharge a minimum of ₹200 every 6 months to continue their services and now forced recharging for them will only yield ₹55 extra ( since ₹35X13 = ₹455 i.e. ₹55 extra for 13X28 days= 364 days). No customer will ever want to live with the fear of losing outgoing after 28 days without any grace period if he forgets to recharge on the last day.

IMHO it is a short term revenue collection policy and TRAI is equally involved since this violates the TRAI's 90 days disconnection policy.

I am just concerned about the majority of lower income people using mobile - as they are going to be affected badly by this move.

  3. Yes it is so.

Airtel & Vodafone will block OUTGOING calls after 30 Days If You Don’t Recharge.

Further they will also block INCOMING calls after 45 days.

The minimum recharge for validity extension is ₹35 ( Rs26.66 talk time along with 100MB 3G/4G data, for 28 days).

So they have planned to dump all customers of lifetime validity who do not recharge frequently. Though this move will help them shed low ARPU customers and improve their ARPU figures but may also help Jio to induct all Airtel & Vodafone dropouts with ₹49 unlimited calling plan.

We can just wait and watch for the outcome of this new development.

while selecting 149/- how can I get 11 unused data voucher simultaneously? Please clarify.

Don't go to Recharge section, instead go to "My Vouchers" (in MyJio app). Under "My vouchers" section click on "BUY" -> deselect/uncheck ₹399 voucher which is selected by default and select/check ₹149 voucher -> scroll down and select/check ₹11 booster voucher too -> proceed to payments. You will get an option to redeem your existing ₹50 discount voucher.

You will get both the vouchers in your "My vouchers" section which can be activated/redeemed or transferred to any other number.

    Hope this clarifies.:)

myJio app on Lyf Wind4 updated to latest version # 5.0.05 today!

I told you in my previous post (see below) that sometimes although the newer version is out but proper apk for specific Android version is not put on Play Store causing such errors.

Do you think it's good time to invest in mutual fund?

Actually, as far as Mutual Fund is concerned I believe that there is no bad or good time to invest, but it is more important to select good (performing) or bad(mismanaged) fund while investing.

Whenever the Market crashes/dips it gives an extra benefit if the amount is invested in Mutual Funds, because due to drop in NAV you get more units while purchasing and sooner or later it will revive and cross the current mark yielding more profit too.

however, myJio app installs & works fine on Moto E3 Power [Android 6.0]

  8. I couldn't find any Mi or Xiaomi sub-forum (Now one of the Leading Brand) so I am posting this Good News for Mi handset users here.

    " Hi, Mi fans!
We would like to share with you an important update. We are migrating our cloud servers to India for local storage. The data migration would cover all Indian user data across Xiaomi e-commerce platform (www.mi.com/in/), Mi Community (in.c.mi.com), Mi Cloud, MIUI (Xiaomi Market, feed, Mi Video, advertising, Mi Messaging, push notifications, etc) and Mi TV.

We're migrating our local data to highly secure Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure infrastructure in India and all the existing data would be migrated by the end of 2018. All new Indian user data since 1st July is already being stored in local servers and all existing user data on mi.com/in/ will be fully migrated to servers in India by mid-September 2018. "

    sorry, could be 4 days!

Airtel is giving away 10GB 4G data for 10 days [give a missed call to 5999555] - I thought Jio's offer is 10GB as well! [2GB per day for 5 days]

Jio is giving FREE data to all its customers whereas Airtel is giving DATA to only 4G handset users and not to any 3G handset users. I have AIrtel SIM in my 3G handset and have been receiving SMS as well as calls from Airtel since last month to avail 10GB data. Airtel initially didn't disclose that it was only 4G data and just mentioned FREE DATA but later (since last 15 days) started mentioning 4G in SMS as well as calls. It is likely that some of its subscribers must have activated it and may have lost balances while using it in 3G handsets. I also had the same notion in the begining that it is FREE DATA but thank god I didn't try to avail it.

My laptop is having an issue with WiFi - it goes on/off frequently and the internet is very unstable on my laptop. I thought on it's problem on Jio network or JioFi - but while browsing on mobile connected to JioFi - I found no issues. My laptop is pretty old bought in 2011, and it might be just due to age WiFi adaptor (Qualcomm Atheros AR9285) has started issues. I am now looking for an adaptor which will bridge WiFi signals and my laptop's USB. (Connecting JioFi via cable to my lappy is not an option as indoor signal is pretty poor, I keep the JioFi near window for better Jio 4G signal)

You can try cleaning the terminals of your WiFi card.

Open the bottom of your laptop.

Disconnect antenna wires & Take out the WiFi Card.

Clean the terminals using Any soft rubber eraser.

Re-insert the card, connect the Antenna wires & reboot.

Download the latest drivers if required.

    Should work like before.

    :D

After Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) hits the market, I hope other vendors may also introduce Dual VoLTE handsets!

Yes! You are absolutely right. By the end of this year we can expect several models from different leading brands with Dual VoLTE feature.

I am also looking for a handset with Dual VoLTE.

sir if i want to use it another device so how we will remove first device and configure secound device because i already do on my lava iris and i now want it to use on my another device plz help

If you are using it with JioFi device then just switch off the handset on which Jio4GVoice is installed.

Then connect the new handset to JioFi on which you want to install Jio4GVoice.

Download the latest version of Jio4GVoice and install & configure it using the JioFi number and Otp.

Once completed the older Jio4GVoice will get disabled by itself.

I was given 5GB last month but it was not usable in dongle. It was usable in my RN3 and expired remaining balance on 24th Feb.

5GB add on you got must have been under Xiaomi offer & is associated with particular handset and cannot be used with any other device.

I got 10 gb in all but one sim.

The sim in which I didn't get , has always been recharged with packs. Now running with 198/- pack.

Another one, in which I got 10 gb, has not been recharged for about 4 months.

Another one, in which I got 10 gb, was recharged in last 2 occasions with Rs.49.

So criteria can not be decided from my end.

It seems they are giving on lot basis - so keep checking, you may get the 10GB on the other sim within next few days. Good luck! ;)

I agree with @KanagaDeepan. I also have not received 10GB add-on as I too have changed the handset recently & have few recharges in queue. But got the 10GB add-on pack on my other jio numbers.

I have changed one of my sim from mobile handset to newly purchased (26th January 2018) iBall Tab and got 10GB on that device too. The particular sim was lying without any plan from 8th Nov to 26th January when I inserted it into iBall and restored the services by redeeming one of my ₹399 stored voucher on that sim.

I don't know what exactly is the eligibility criteria for getting 10GB but I got it on all my connections - Lava X11, Redmi Note 3 Pro and iBall Tab too (purchased in January 2018).

Do you know the catch in this offer??? NOT at all a big one for most of the people, but for me it is a deal-breaker.

The FREE add-on can be used ONLY in the phone which was used during the plan recharge. For example, you are using xiaomi RN4 and do a Rs399 recharge and will get 10GB add-on for FREE. But in case you changed the phone to other say RN5, then the addon will NOT be used at all, even though it was redeemed earlier. I have experienced this in my 4G Tab, while recharge was done on C9 pro.

As I said it is NOT a big deal for almost anyone. But for people who change phone often or that old phone got broken, they are in for bad luck. I have recharged for 2 years and obviously can't use th phone for that length of time. So it is NOT that useful in queing more plans in Jio.

The 10GB is credited to every device I have and is not associated or given along with any recharge of ₹399. Don't know whether device switching will forfeit this or not but I have additional 5GB add on vouchers received with ₹399 recharges under the Xiaomi offer which will be forfeited if I switch handset.

Sorry, I dis-agree with this point. If they are really into number one position, they must be giving special offers for high ARPU users as well as Postpaid customers (much stickier customers). But their only motto is to KILL THE COMPETITION and nothing else.

You may disagree, but the fact is that by giving away dirt cheap offers they can easily surpass Airtel (number of subscribers) by the next year & as far as ARPU is concerned they are already well off (reporting profits) so there is no need to concentrate on improving it, at least at the moment - when they are looking for more subscribers. This can be addressed as "Killing the competition" but just think what was happening before the entry of Jio - all telecom operators were simply LOOTING. Now Jio has emerged as a "Robin Hood" and may be killing the competition, but who is benefited - We the users (remember 80%of Indian population is still poor). This is the reason why they are after masses and not merely after the bunch of high ARPU customers. I would like to say that when the things are beyond our control & we can't do anything about the present situation it is better to enjoy the cheap data till the "Looting Era" revives again if ever (although not expected).;)
