Spice D88 Dual Gsm/cdma Dual Handset

Recommended Posts

Bloody fools Reliance people...

I have purchased C88 Spice and inserted Cellone Card which is working nicely in GSM mode.I visited web World of Reliance to transfer my existing number in this new handset. They first time saw this dual handset. they said this cannot be done as one simcard is already there!

Then i showed them the manual and CDMA card slot. Then they said u have to purchase Handset transfer Card worth Rs.25.which i purchased. Then those fools erased my number from original H/S. but they were not knowing how to activate in new HS.now I cant use either HS.Now they are seeking guidence from there bloody head office.

Reliace web world people are bloody fools like BSNL people!!!

can any one write how to activate this HTC (Handset Transfer Card)?

SUGGESTION: try to activate HTC in RIM supported phone and use it in D88

hi friend

handset transfer card and RUIM is different.

i suppose u have to get a RUIM and put it in the sim slot.. it may work.. costing RS.300

RUIM is a sim card which can be used on cdma phone with sim slots..

if its spice D-88 it ll work..

All the best

Dear captain,

my phone D88 has slot i have purchased RUIM blank card worthRs. 300 and hand set transfer card. I dialled *229 + 9digit PIN no. from old HS and *228+9 digit PIN from new HS. but still new phone not activated. The phone says ur phone cannot be activated. contact customer care. Of course CC *333 and 33333333 cant be cotacted. it is engaged due to millions complaints being recieved ot put off :(

Hello this is my first posting - i have JUST purchased Spice D88 and made it custom to suit my needs - since its a new phone i shall be happy to take if you guys have any querry regarding useage or operation.

:(

Hi fellow boarders,

I just joined the forum.

Cheers...

Hi Geniius,

Congrats on the purchase.

I went thru all the details you have given on the D88. I would like to know if they (Spice) have got authorised dealer or distributor network for the set. I am from down south and would like to get hold of this Dual SIM mobile.

In fact I did some google check and found that Cool Pad 728 a chinese one is available which is also a PDA. Samsung has also launched one Dual SIM mobile. My local vendor says he can supply a chinese Dual SIM mobile for just 6500 but without any warranty/guarantee. Another one who advertised in The HIndu Daily quoted a price of 15k for a Korean manufactured set. I think Spice Mobile set is good one for the price with guarantee.

My CDMA connection is with reliance and will be provide a SIM to change over to the new mobile set?

Cheers...

Annan

-Yes there auth. dist and dealer in couth go to spicemobile.in and see it

- Chinese sets are not good enough spice has mantained quality

-Samsung Duo does not support RIM

-Reliance will provide RUIM(SIM)

Hi Genius,

Thanks buddy for the reply. I checked the site but they have no distributer or dealer in TN or Kerala. :)

Well activating OTA ( Over The Air ) i.e activating by dialing *228 required SPC ( Service Programming Code ) to be match with the *228 activation portal.

Means when u buy any RUIN or non-RUIM handsets form reliance, they are reliance ready i.e already programmed with reliance valid SPC.

Now in case of open market handsets like D88 or X768 or Xv6700 all are RUIM compatible but not loaded with valid SPC, so u wont get OTA activation.

Well u have to get any reliance ready RUIM based handset and insert ur blank RUIM in it, activate it, remove ur RUIM and insert to use it in ur open market handset.

Cheers.

yest. I visited again bloody webworld to activate the phone. The answers given by staff mostly girls were as follows.

There cannot be two simcards in one handset! there cannot be two networks operating at one time in a HS!! I showe them two slots and printing on phone as GSM/CDMA'. also showed manual. then they were surprised. talked with some "higher official' to be called as their Sir! then announced that this phone can be only meant for internatinal roaming and cannot be operated in indian and not compatible to Reliance service!!!

then I made a big TAMAaSHA there and fired them. i showed them that as the blank card shows Reliance logo , it is well recieving Reliance network how can u say . only number is not transfereed so it cannot transact..

All reliance staff unanimously announced that the phone is only useful for international roaming in other countries!!!

One TAPOREE like boy was watching all this. he saw the reliance logo and said it should recieve Reliance network. he put his Reliance card in my HS and he recieved an incoming call!!! that means it was compatible and recieving reliance network. then he put my blank card there and dialled the desired codes and PINs and to our surprise it was activated. remember that boy was not reliance staff... not wearing that bloody blue T shirts with red logo!!

So u can realise thetechnical knowledge of reliance staff. Meanwhile I told then if Reliance cant be used on this phone i will close connection and shift to TATA Indicom. They easily said yes you can do that. They dont bother about customers shamelessly....

Any way , both Reliance and BSNL networks are operating well and very easy to toggle and use. FANTASTIC!!!!

After going thru the handset specifications it is understood that the set not only lacks the bluetooth but also the fm too is missing.

@ Genius: Request the following info:

a) Your comments on the battery life?

:Sorprendido: SMS Inbox storage capacity

c) Since not very familier with Spice handsets, whats the experience while keying in the text for sms?

d) Last but not the least, how much does it cost?

I was checking the specifications on spice and it says there is no infrared also. Can somebody clarify if it has infrared. I really find it wierd that handset having such features and price tag should lack bluetooth :Contento:

Hi Genius

Just picked up the phone...all is well but need a bit of help with internet connectivity. How did you set up the rconnect functionality on this phone? I was using a data cable with my earlier LG, but can't find a data cable setup guide for the D-88.

Any ideas there?

Thanks in advance

Kamal

Hi Guys,

After reading your comments on D-88 i have purchased mobile. Its works fine. I have inserted Airtel and Tata Connections. i face a problem in sending CDMA Message, Now i am not able to send sms from cdma, but gsm sms works fine. Battery life i think is not so good when 2 alive connections.

Can any one suggest me to rectify cdma sms prob. I have checked with GSM/CDMA, CDMA/GSM and CDMA modes alone, but i am not able to send. I have verified with operater also, no block in sending sms for my connection, i tested on another cdma hs sms goes fine.

Thanks in advance. Help me out to solve this prob. and is there any suggestions to improve bat life.....

With Regards
