Recommended Posts

If you didnt face any problem while roaming, that means that the actual prl has not got changed even though it might be showing different version number and hence you dont need to update it again...

U get original 755P cover at HP for around 800/-

@ kets4u where can i order this

u can use tealscan or dfixit to remove bad database entries

@Mufaddal thanks for the effort you take to get things done, i have also found2 utilities that solve the purpose

umv3.gif Uninstall Manager for Palm OS 5

Garbage is eating up your RAM!

Uninstall Manager saves valuable memory space while keeping your device clean and trouble-free. Make sure that newly installed applications will be completely removed when they are no longer needed. Sandbox, Recording mode, uninstallation rollbacks and so much more - This is what makes UM the best uninstaller around.

Use this to install Uninstall_Manager311.rar

then upgrade to this it works Uninstall_Manager324_9922.zip

I like Destaller lite to remove apps that are installed on SD Card. I feel its more efficient for apps installed only on the SD.

Except for CDMA Updater and IBM Java which needs to be in the phone memory, I copy rest all prc file (programs) into the memory card at location /PALM/LAUNCHER; when I want uninstall, I simply delete these prc files from the same location and its gone from my phone. Thats worked pretty fine for me till date; no need for any special uninstallers.....

well certain prc files leave copies in rom and other palm database even if u install them on memory card ...normally if u have few apps installed it wont be an issue but problem would arise when u have a lot of apps installed and u install and uninstall apps regularly at that point apps like these come in handy or else u would be stuck in reset loops ( from my and others experince)

Ye, thats what. Even if you install apps (which in the first place should be flexible enough to work from card) they will create some trace files in the RAM (equivalent to ini/settings files in PC). These are well detected by such apps.

@Mufaddal

I did not have the solved Destaller Pro but the lite also works fine for me.

Hey guys, as you know I got my new treo yesterday, I wanna purchase a memory card and I was thinking to go for 8gb micro SD with adapter

So let me know if anyone ever faced any problems for using higher memory card..

one more thing,

After completing hot sync, should I remove the cable directly?

I don't find any option like "safely remove" as in pendrives

Hi, I am Reliance CDMA postpaid user. Usually i am on roaming in a month or two for 2-3 days. I use the local ruim card of the place where i roam.

Now when i use Treo 755P, how can i can quickly change my number while on roaming and again revert to original number. Please tell me in detail if it is possible and if possible how can i do it??

^^^

You will need to know service programming to do that and its not that easy and fast on the move with treo 755p (although I can do it in less than 5 minutes) because it involves editing your NV backup file and backing it up; so for all practical purposes for you, I would not recommend it.... until of course, you feel confident enough and have the access to a laptop along with you (because that will be needed)... for detailed procedure read the es* change procedure of treo...
