Phone Backup Services

Recommended Posts

Happened time and again that you want to sync your phone someplace and then format the device ... or god forbid - you loose your phone ... and all your precious contacts vanish from your possession ...

Bid adieu to such situations ... thanks to some phone backup services which I've been testing for quite some time now...

1. PhoneCopy : http://www.phonecopy.com - amazing ... free and the best part - it even syncs your SMS

2. Synble : http://www.synble.com - Just syncs your text messages with Gtalk... Really useful if you forget the phone at home and some important text message comes thro :)

3. Mobyko : http://www.mobyko.com - amazing interface to sync contacts, tasks, etc ... I'm a premium customer - not sure about the free package or if its available anymore

4. ZYB : http://www.zyb.com - one of the first entrants - which's purchased by vodaphone now ... awesome interface once again ... Old customers can still use it for free

5. GooSync : http://www.goosync.com - sync with google calendar

6. R-Seven : don't recall the website :)

enjoy..

cheers

Most of these services are very clear in their T&C - I've gone thro most before i sign up on such services :)

Almost all of them are already reputed service providers.

Cheers

The helpfulness of manufacturer independent sync comes when you have a phone from one manufacturer and upgrade to a phone from a different manufacturer :)

www.dashwire.com is another such online site.

Backup of:

1)Contacts

2)Call Logs

3)Files (Photos & Videos)

4)SMSes

The site also offers sharing photos so you may share saved photos.

Again if you have forgotten phone at home and ask someone at home to keep Wifi ON, you may see call logs from remote location and call the people who had called on mobile. As well send SMS from your phone (as you compose SMS online, it gets sync with phone and then is delivered from phone's DRAFT box.)

Saw this in Reliance website

Contacts – a click away

If you lost or changed your phone, the idea of again keying in all contacts into your address book is scary. With Backup Contacts, you save time and all these efforts.

  • It is a wireless service that saves a copy of your address book to a secure web site. Anytime you switch to a new phone, Backup Contacts transfers your saved address book to the new phone.
  • You can manually save your address book or schedule automatic updates.
  • You can access the backup address book and can view, print, add, delete and edit contacts.
  • Updates are sent to your phone with one click.
