Best Of The Breed

Recommended Posts

With more and more handsets in the market, making the right choice is becoming tricky. Each handset has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, phone X could be the best when it comes to looks; while in terms of battery life, phone Y may beat the rest of the market hands down. So collectively, let us help each other select the best of the breed.

Which handset is the best when it comes to:

1. Looks.

2. Battery.

3. Talk time.

4. Stand-by time.

5. Camera.

6. Ease of SMS use.

7. Number of SMS characters.

8. Group SMS.

9. PC sync.

10. current/downloadable ring tones.

11. Sound quality/reception.

12. Visual display.

13. Keypad.

14. R-Connect.

15. Data transfer speeds.

16. accessories.

17. Extra other features.

18. Price.

19. After sale/service.

20. Second-hand market.

There are plenty of phones in the CDMA market that outshine GSM phones today.

Check out the Samsung i700 & 760.

Not to mention almost any phone sold in Korean & Jap market today works on CDMA and they are technically years ahead.

We're talking about 5 mega pixel cameras. Watching actual TV on the mobile. Blazing data speeds, GPS and the like.

In terms of technology CDMA is miles ahead of GSM. -_-:clap:

Too bad RIM doesn't give us all that  ... or if it could it would be prohibitively expensive. I heard that RIM was implementing EV-DO in India (further suggested by its introduction of EV-DO phones such as the LG Video Cam phone) this year (2004). However haven't heard on that for a long time. Hopefully they're testing it before deployment!

EV - DVO will take some time to hit india. Currently Reliance's CDMA 2000 1X Supporst maxumu of 144Kbps data stream. We need atleast 512Kbps for a smooths Video Conferencing.
