One nice thing we can do is ditch RIM! :(

RIM is obviously delaying the change so they can fatten their coffers at our expense as long as possible...

Not only this issue, but GSM tariffs are now significantly cheaper than RIM! Idea (Mah. circle) is offering Idea to Idea @ 75p ...and MUCH cheaper SMSes.

Am gonna ditch REAL soon, if thinks dont change REAL soon!!

Hi here in Tamil Nadu, Aircel is doing a revolution, local calls to mobiles in TN(including chennai) are at 90 paise for mobiles and 1.20 for landlines. The icing on the cake is for night talk(from 9pm to 9am) the rates at that time are 30 paise for any mobile, all this in addition with free local sms without any monthly rent. At these rates Reliance may loose out the battle here if they dont bring up anything soon. Still no official info from reliance i guess!!!!!!! :(

Yesterday when i was in Pune, i saw a big advt of Tata indicom, claiming, local charges for m2m and landline 2 m.

So tata has come up with it, even from mumbai tata landlines i can dial to all mobile of maharashtra without prefixing '0'.

Still no signs from Reliance, reasons can be any or both of these:

1. they are trying to earn as much as possible

2. they are waiting for market to settle down, so tht they can bring up a scheme which breaks all other competitors.

as we all know till govt doesnt forces and penalises RIM it doesnt do anything tht makes it loose its business. so the only help can be TRAI, when it will penalise RIM, i hope then only these people will come out with the new plans?

what do u all say?

Every opertator in mumbai and maharashtra leaving out RIM had made it celar tht incoming calls while roaming in this circles is free wiht some operator (ie Airtel will have free incoming on airtel, and will be chrged on other network, orange on bpl and idea will be free and on airtel it will be charged)

So only RIM ahs to come out in this regards..

Aircel i think was already bought over by Hutch! Dont rem if the acquisition worked out finally. Anyways, Most ppl get RIm for its amazing roaming facilities at basic costs, unlike that of GSM operators where subscribers were charged exhorbitant incoming rates. RIM was the best possible solution for roaming in towns. Now i guess, GSM operators have earned enuf n finally given stuff for free to their customers, a lil early than RIM could!

Well watever, RIM needs to announce the change, with the TRAI directive!

Anybody shooting out mailers to TRAI regarding this?

All Cell cos r jus getting their way!! Look at what orange says for calls within Mah&Goa! Damn!!

charges

You will be charged local call rates for calls made to all mobile phones, within Maharashtra or in Goa except CellOne/BSNL. Local call rates applicable will be as per your talk plan.

All promotional offers applicable on mobile to mobile calls will be extended to calls made to mobile      phones in Maharashtra, excluding CellOne.

please note

Calls to other phones in Maharashtra & Goa including CellOne will continue to be charged at the existing STD rates.

Y except CellOne?? Now isn't that weird? Damn these ppl!

Because BSNL still doesn't provides cell companies with direct conectivity to CellOne, and all calls have to be routed through the fixed line network. Here again BSNL charges cell companies with the transit charge (though TDSAT has recently ordered BSNL to not to charge transit charge). Maybe this is the payback time

Hi all ,

Still no news regrading the call charges being local for merged circles of Mah-Mumbai , Chennai-TN etc .

All calls continue to be charged as STD calls to mobiles to Mah when dialled from Mumbai.

Incoming still continues to be charged while roaming!!

Tata Indicom has just announced that all calls to mobile will be treated as local calls and no raoming charges applicable while roaming in the new merged circles.

When will Reliance follow suit! Dont you all think it is high time. The DOT order was supposed to be implemented from midnight of 25-26th May onwards still its not being implemented!!Only BSNL has implemented the same.

Even after contacting the cc they keep on giving the same reply "will let you know through relevant media channels"!!

All this is a neglect and violation of DOTs order. Why cant DOT implement stictly for all operators.

IS DOT/TRAI watching??

Any news on this please post.
