I am NOT shocked... this is what is happening in each and every city of this country... In my case, I gave them a slap back; I wanted my son to be admitted in the school that I had studied all my life; But realised that i will need to "fake" a birth certificate to get things going according to their rules; i.e. start my son's future on a "lie"; donno how many more to come; which I did; then got admission; then I "rejected" their admission; wrote a 3 page letter to their Brother (Principal in a convent school) and explained to him why my beloved school was going to the dogs and why I "didnt" get my son admitted in his school... Got a reply back to come to talk to him to improve the school... in the meanwhile got my son admitted in DPS which had just started in Meerut at that time; am totally satisfied as on date with that decision... Now, my sincere advice to you - Nurture your child to learn things rather than be taught; These so called "reputed" schools which churn out robots may teach but they dont educate; Let him get admitted into "any" decent school; even a student admitted in so called "hindi" medium schools can achieve the greatest heights in life if his concepts are made clear; its your environment at home that matters more rather the school to make him a better person in life... otherwise the rat race is all out there and everyone's running...

NIXI(National Internet Exchange) has filed application with APNIC to consider it to work as NIR(National Internet Registry) for India. APNIC is a RIR(Regional Internet Registry) for our Asia-Pacific region. APNIC(headquartered in Australia) has called for comments on the application way back in October 2009. http://www.apnic.net/publications/press/releases/2009/nixi-nir-application Till date, the decision has not been made due to geo-politics of APNIC and laziness of our Govt in pursuing. What is the work of NIR? To allocate block of IP addresses to ISPs who in turn allocate them to their end customers. NIR will get huge block of IP addresses from APNIC for distributing to Indian ISPs. Why APNIC is creating hurdles for creation of NIR in India? Currently all our(India's) IP addresses are bought from APNIC directly by our ISPs in fragmented manner, which in turn gives huge revenue for APNIC. If NIR established, NIR will get a huge block from APNIC which will normally be less than market value. NIR will then sub-allocate them to ISPs(on demand basis) which ensures the maximum profit only to NIR and not to APNIC. Is getting NIR from APNIC is so difficult for other countries? No. APNIC is encouraging NIRs in most other countries of Asia-Pacific region. The following countries already have NIRs which work under APNIC. 1) Indonesia 2) China 3) Japan 4) Korea 5) Singapore 6) Taiwan 7) Vietnam It's time for Govt to intervene judiciously to ensure India has NIR at the earliest.

@Kesav As per your theory, had Unitech not sold stake to Nortel at 6 times the actual license fee, we would be witnessing 1p/10sec instead of the current half paisa per sec by Uninor ? What extra have few new telcos like Videocon, (who haven't even diluted stake like Swan & Unitech), done for sake of Competition with so-called cheap license? They are interested in first getting back their comparatively tiny Investment & are going with the Tariff flow .. But you see, now Videocon's new Ad says 0 p/sec - what does that mean anyways ? Some competition.. Look at all new players, whats their current combined market share ? Less than 5% Don't know whether we can call this impressive, even after getting licenses more than a year back.. Where are the walk-in stores by Videocon, Uninor etc. for providing better services in cities ? (forget villages who will anyways be forever frustrated with CC helpline) Truth is, most of the new Telcos wont survive this mad rush & will eventually sell themselves off, despite paying the so-called low license fee.. Then again, they can make huge profits when Foreign Tecos try to enter India, but again, can they compete on price & benefit the poor ? And regarding serving the poor, Tariffs aren't designed District/Village-wise, its Circle-wise.. so its the same for the Rich & Poor alike.. Had this been done through auctioning, max 2-3 new operators would have emerged & survived along with existing 4-5 operators.. thats enough competition for our Country.. & enough money earned through bidding.. all would've been happy ! Subsidies are designed for the ppl at the bottom of the Pyramid, not Corporate Honchos. As they're in the business of making profits out of such subsidy.. So that's indeed one disastrous comparison by the PM in his press conference !

The Importance of Walking My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60. Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is. Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month. I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing. I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there. Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate. The advantage of exercising every day is so when you die, they'll say, 'Well, she looks good doesn't she.' If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country. I know I got a lot of exercise the last few years,...... just getting over the hill. We all get heavier as we get older, because there's a lot more information in our heads. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I perfectly agreed with dkaile. me and my sister both studied into govt college. both of us went to Hindi Medium schools. our parents didn't studied after class 5th. but we got good teachers there. our parents supported us like anything and both of us cleared the JEE and completed our graduations from IIT delhi(My Sister) and IIT Kanpur. I have many other examples. we were able to do all that just because we get support from our parents and school teachers. infact my College(class 9th to 12th) was one of the notorious school. if we go with the current situation that these schools claims then we were not suppose to study. i should not have got even the basic school knowledge. I have one more example. I meet a guy his father was just a cook in our company. This guy from meerut didn't get the good education but still that guy was really gem in technology. another Shara India guy he didn't have father and he didn't had fee to pay the board examination fee. He joined some office a peon and paid his board exam fee out of that. This guy is Director in Shara India in 1999. one of my friend in IIT Kanpur his father was just a rickshaw driver in kanpur. another friend his father was a farmer in Bihar there are so many other people i came across in my life. i don't know what is going to happen to education in our country.

well said dhiraj bhai ... +1 I also live in mumbai and currently looking at admitting my son to a shool and we have short listed, 1. Arya Vidya Mandir in Bandra and 2. Bombay scottish in Mahim. It been such tensed situation at home its been 1 1/2 months we are trying to folloing with AVM for the results but no reply what so ever but wife has called the school twice but they saying to wait to their response. Bombay scottish admission is so diffcult to get in that without good influensial we cannot get it... Its really a pain these days to get a child admitted to schools.. CSMART : First get ur child admitted to some school and then get into legal matters..... All the best to you ...
