Even if u don't enter the old RSN, just enter your reliance number and ur new sim number and still ur number would get activated on the new sim. So practically it's not mandatory to put ur old RSN. I am writing this, because no one is sure of any particular CDMA continuing in short future. BSNL can help CDMA users in some regions of service and will help those who have single network handset. I am also aware that BSNL is surrendering cdma spectrum in some states but it still help us. RUIM of BSNL is hybrid type, data works on normal sim based handsets like Moto E, Moto X, Droid series etc and also on handsets like VZW Note 3, Note 5, S5, S6, S7 Nexus 6 etc. A small amount of one time programming is required after sim activation. Note that there is no *228 for OTAF and was removed from network in 2010. I have Note3, Verizon in not working condition. Lcd and touch will not work and Logic board is not detecting Indian 3g sim. (Verizon and Indian CDMA sims are working) Other than the above every thing works. Let me know who wants.

I am from Chennai. Nobody in Reliance has clue on what's happening. Some people say CDMA would be shutdown on 22nd, one person says 23rd and customer service team say no official date known to them yet. Will my tariff remain same? One person says Yes and other other one says only GSM tariff will be applicable. They are unanimous in just one thing - My CDMA only handset will become a paperweight at worst and wake up alarm at the best. They are not ready to exchange this handset. They say I need to buy new GSM handset on my own. An idea... Why not both the chors, Rcom and Freedom251 join hands to supply "cheapest" phone to customers??

I am from Chennai. Recd msg from Rcom "We will be closing Reliance Network any moment. Visit nearest web world to upgrade". I called Customer Service team and the gentleman said, I need to upgrade to 4G failing which my number would be disconnected and that I would lose my number for ever. If I do my 22nd, I will continue to be in same tariff (50 p per minute). I connected with Reliance through Chat. This person has no clue on the date in which CDMA would stop. He says if I don't port before network shuts down, my number would simply stop working, but upon getting new SIM I can retain same number. When asked about tariff, he said only GSM tariff would be applicable and existing CDMA tariff would cease. Consolation prize is my balance would get carried to GSM. Paper weight manufacturers are going to be indirect sufferers as many households gonna have paper weight that costs above 3000
