  1. yet to try, will comment on this soon. ring tone and music volumes via speaker are loud.
  2. time for my review. 32gb internal storage, 3GB ram, 6050mAH battery and 5.5" amoled display, 4g on both sims or u can use cdma+gsm or gsm+cdma. u can set data to work on either sim. What else do u want !!!!It is a true world phone. am using it with reliance cdma + dolphin as gsm and signals r great. even better than my earlier HTC one dual sim. evdo works awesome with cdma. U can use any of the 2 sim slots for cdma or both for 4g gsm. i am a heavy user and easily get 2+ days with some juice remaining. Thou a bit heavy but u get used to it. GOLD color is the best and it has premium looks. The flip cover along with the phone is of nice quality but the plastic screen guard is a waste coz its not tempered glass. Better to buy a tempered glass screen guard online or after market shops @ 100 bucks. camera quality @ 13mp is seriously good. Low light pics are also good. front cam @5mp also shoots sharp pics. smart screen gestures work ok. double tap to wake and sleep etc make life easy. coming from HTC family, sense is much better than the native amigo 3.1 and it takes some time to understand the features. They have packed a lot of innovative features like everyday changing lock screen wallpapers @ mood card, new wallpaper app for this phone , smart gestures, theme park etc etc. There is no app drawer which can be addressed by using any other launcher. Anyways I have not felt the need for an app drawer till date. can always fall back on nova or next or halo etc launchers. music effects are awesome both via speak and headset It has DTS with various pre set modes and also u can adjust the equalizer thou u wont need to. I like heavy bass and the native music app does not disappoint. u wont regret purchasing this phone.

As per your concern we would like to inform you that CDMA mode is supportable in our Marathon M5 and EVDO REV B is also supports in M5. Thanks & Regards G Care
  5. the battery charging reply posted above may not be correct It took me 6 hours to charge the battery from 6% to 100%. It took 1 hours 13 minutes to charge from 20% to 45%. source https://www.gogi.in/gionee-marathon-m5-review.html
  6. [emoji106] Please Post Review Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk shd get this handset in a day or two as i purchased it yesterday only. . Hi Dear, Little surprised as HTC one dual sim sold at very low price & that too for Gionee.. Was it troubling you... Please do post review.. Sent from my HTC One dual sim using Tapatalk No, htc one dual was and will remain an awesome phone, it never went slow or lagged, camera was awesome ...its just that i used that phone for 2.3 years and felt it was the right time to move before it starts giving battery issues. i paid @ 46k for that phone in aug 2013 and i sold it with a heavy heart. Also i feel 6 months down the line i would not even get 5k as there is hardly any takers for a 2nd hand HTC phones. with infocus m810 and gionee m5 and few ZTE handsets now supporting cdma, we have many options and makes sense to buy a new handset to use with cdma. somehow i am not comfortable to own a imported cdma handset so as of today, that leave me option of owning a HTC 826 DS or E8 again or this Gionee. The 3gb ram + bigger battery + 4g dual sim made me go for this phone. also this review by a user named MKsH was a deal maker for me why is everyone confused here about things. simple choice is if you want cdma smartphone go for it. i tell you why- 1. its the only dual sim phone which supports cdma as well as 4g on second sim slot because as i am using htc one e8 and i love my phone very much and its very good overall compare to gionee m5 but the sad part is every smartphone right now which support cdma dual sim has not support for 4g on second sim slot. even 3g is not supported you can only use 2g sim on second sim slot and thats really bad part of and cdma+gsm dual sim smartphone. so thats the part where gionee m5 shines out from the rest because you can use 4g sim gsm on both the slots and can use cdma sim on slot 1 and gsm sim on second slot with 2g/3g even 4g and thats really the best part of this smartphone. so guys if you really want to take advantage of the cdma cheap plans as i am using relience truly unlimited plan on my htc one e8 then you have only one best option right now which is gionee marathon M5. 2. now come tosecond choice if you are not willing to use any cdma sim and will only use gsm sim then their is no point for going for the gionee m5.although it has good specs like 3gb ram, amoled display, 32 gb internal but very poor gpu and cpu if you want gaming then you will be not as happy as you can be from all other smartphones in this price range. because if u will use only gsm sims then there are lot more options available in this price range with same or better specification. but again if you really want a smartphone with cdma facility then gionee marathon m5 is the only best option available right now with best specifcation you can imagine right now. because cdma smartphone are usually costly as compared to normal gsm smartphones and if you google you will find that this smartphone is not costly at all as for the cdma smartphone or i can easily say its best cdma phone right now available with best specification with just right pricing but cdma is not your concern then i agree with everyone here that you have lot of options in this price range. also when i inquired abt the time it takes to fully charge this handset, this is the reply i got about 2 h. it has a smart charger, with voltage from 5 to 12 v. there are 2 batt cell, 3000 mAh each, with separate charging circuit.
  7. sold my HTC one Dual for 10.5k and purchased this handset.

  10. this is really good that Gionee has launched a variant of the Marathon M5 in India, featuring 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of inbuilt storage, as opposed to the 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage model launched globally. btw how does Gionee fare in android os updates ?

  13. Reliance to Start Selling Its 'Lyf' 4G Smartphones From Diwali Reliance Industries today said it has already pumped in close to Rs. 93,000 crore into its telecom venture under the 'Reliance Jio' brand and will start selling its 4G handsets under the Lyf brand from Diwali. "We've substantially completed our network expansion now having already completed 2.5 lakh route kilometers. We are on course to begin distribution of the handsets under the Lyf brand name from Diwali. "We have already tied up with 1,200 primary distributors for this," Reliance Jio president for devices Sunil Dutt told reporters here this evening. When asked about how much the company has spent out of its Rs 1 trillion capital into the telecom venture, Reliance Group deputy CFO V Srikanth said it has almost completed the capex by spending close to Rs. 93,000 crore so far. But, he ruled out any fresh capital infusion into the telecom venture saying the company is well-capitalised now. Anshuman Thakur, head of business strategy development at Reliance Jio said, the company has tied up with five OEMs for handsets and the company will begin by offering 4G services through its own Lyf brand smartphones that will allow customers to make Internet-based calls. He also said going forward the company will start manufacturing the handsets locally and the work is on in this regard. The second leg of the roll-out will have MiFi handsets, Thakur added. "Though we wanted to have the first batch of handsets to be locally made, things could not progress as planned. But our commitment to local manufacturing is not negotiable," Dutt said. "Reliance Retail will soon launch its own brand of 4G LTE smartphones under the brand Lyf. The brand built on the premise of unmatched user experience will offer high-performance handsets that deliver a true 4G experience comparable to the best in the world," Thakur said. The company is likely to offer Lyf handsets with dual SIM facility and is expected to be available in the market from November. On telecom mast sharing plans, Thakur said the company has already notified the DoT about its tie-up with Rcom in seven circles under which it will share Rcom towers in the 850 MHz band. "We have tied up with Rcom for seven circles for the 850 MHz band spectrum, which takes care of about 35 per cent of the market. We are also in discussions with other operators for tower/spectrum sharing as well as spectrum trading, provided there is consensus on pricing," Thakur said. The 4G smartphones will enable customers to make Internet-based calls like voice over LTE (VoLTE), voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-FI), high definition voice and high definition quality video calling on Jio network. The company holds the highest amount of liberalised spectrum among telecom operators which can be used for deploying any technology for mobile services. It has a total of 751.1 MHz spectrum across 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands. "Jio plans to provide seamless 4G services using LTE in 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands through an integrated ecosystem," the company said, adding it has substantially completed its network rollout across the country and the network is currently being tested and optimised. There are 10,000 testers doing quality testing across the country now. As we move closer to launch, we will add more testers, Thakur added. Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani in June had told the shareholders that the company would launch the much-awaited telecom services by December, offering high-speed data, digital commerce, media and payment services for about Rs. 300-500 per month, wherein it will sell smartphones at affordable rates of Rs. 4,000-5,000 apiece as well as high-end ones. http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/reliance-to-start-selling-its-lyf-4g-smartphones-from-diwali-753733
