  2. While configuring 1x and EvDO on Verizon Samsung Stellar i200, it is observed that due to more security on this phone, the phone goes offline while selecting CDMA bands. If the phone does not restore to factory NAM, then a downgrade to stock ROM is essential. If the phone goes offline on 4.2.2 or 4.1.2 (VRBMA1) it should be downgraded to stock 4.0.4 (VRALG4) via ODIN. As soon as phone boots on 4.0.4 ROM, dial *#22745927 and press ##72786# to clear NAM settings. Phone will be on Reliance network once it boots. Below are the factory images in case anyone needs them.   3. For Sprint Tribute:- ppp user=omhtest@omh.relianceinfo.com, ppp pass=S19121NB15CB112D in data in DFS also works. Disable all MIP profiles and make the first one active. This can be seen with SIM inside. For removing Sprint hands-free activation:- dial ##3282#>6digitMSL>go to device self service and erase all ip, proxy and port entries. If blank section is not permitted, use your own https://xxxxxxx, port=xx, ip=xxx.xx Phone will reboot and hands free activation is gone. Tested on RUIM pref mode with PRL 5 flashed while on NV mode. Happy flashing !!
  4. Activating on Sprint after de-activating the device from Ting pushes OTA files for Hotspot and other features. Only when we see the yellow Sprint Spark boot screen, the Sprint ID app, Sprint zone, these options in settings come up. A ##786# or a ##72786# wipe will remove them. Applicable on HTC Desire 510 and Tribute also. Flash concerned PRL and make RUIM if available for Tata Docomo. Some Tata Indicom OMH SIM cards do not detect on Volt. Avoiding Boost and going in for SPR pre is a safer bet. Sent from N900p

    The reason behind heavy algorithmic coding on the newer RUIMs is that the head-end switching centre was receiving two or more same ESN/MEIDs with the same parameters registered in the same or nearby region. Some cloners even programmed NV phones by reading RUIMs and used the SIM on a simple phone for calling and an NV based phone for data/HSD based on SIM's identity. The quest doesnt end with the HDR password retrieval, most phones require SIM AKEY for using cloned data. Now that there are a variety of OMH SIM cards available suitable for most carrier phones, I cannot share cloning information. It is totally illegal and will be liable for prosecution.

    Now no RCDMA SIMs can be read on any handset. The new SIM algorithm prevents any traces of passwords/keys. There are SIM reader dongles and a special RUIM reader software where the SIM can be rewritten. ruimtools.com Sent from N900p
  8. Verizon's Novatel, ZTE and Pantech pocket routers are very popular in US. Initially, Novatel 2200 Jetpacks were based on NV mode programming only. Now the newer Novatel 4510, 4620L, 4620LE and 5510 are based on CDMA SIM slots. The ZTE 890L and Novatel 4620L/LE are global mode MiFi devices where any GSM SIM will work on the go. While Reliance 1x works instantly upon SIM insertion, Evdo does not connect and needs to be tweaked a little. And data on Tata Indicom does not work without these tweaks. Requirements for Reliance CDMA EVDO on SIM:- 1. We have to know the 8 digit HDR password of the RUIM before begining the process. 2. Download 4620L drivers. 3. Mifi should start installing various ports after installation of the driver 4. Using DFS, connect to status port and send SPC 000000 (the Jetpacks do not listen without this port) 5. Do not read or change any settings 6. Go to data and in HDR UID/Pass write A10000xxx@ in your HDR username, and the RUIM's 8 digit password in the password field. 7. Go to MIP section, without reading write A10000xxx or 'net' in the first profile, same in the RM NAI. 8. Reboot 9. Insert SIM and 3G connected. Requirements and procedure for EVDO on Tata Indicom Photon SIM:- 1. Using DFS, send SPC 000000 and go to MIP profile, enter 'internet' in the first profile and reboot. 2. After this change, any Tata SIM can be used since it has a universal MIP, unlike Reliance. (Any data pack with any denomination works) Note:- This is only for CDMA band of the Mifi. Router configuration is done by wifi by vz.hotspot or . GSM_WCDMA is global auto APN. ZTE 890L is fully unlocked and does not require any tweaking. This tutorial pertains to 4620L, 4620LE and 5510. None tested on MTS. Important update:- For Reliance, universal username/pass = net/net working for evdo on some firmwares and some firmwares need HDR username A1000xxx@hrpd.xxxx in first MIP profile in DFS and nothing else. HDR password is no longer required to work. Mifi4620_Drivers.zip

    I have updated phone to 4.4.4 now cdma data dont work on s5 sprint anyone facing same problem? Any solution? Can I downgrade to 4.4.2 You need to configure using DFS again from scratch. Possibly after doing ##786#. RTN will erase all settings and data.

  11. Samsung Galaxy US Cellular R530U can/will brick while on 4.3 MJA if tried downgrading by Odin or recovery or by flashable zip MB1/MD4 firmware by SD card. Firmwares contain sbl1, sbl2, tbz and some other components fatal to the bootloader. The handset will be dead completely leading to the only option of JTAG Riffbox. It is also seen than pin-outs of JTAG to R530 are not easily mappable. Here is an emergency restore to boot into download mode by which you can re-flash the stock R530uvxubmja tar odin file. Things needed are:- 1. A 16GB class 10 SD card (for 16GB handsets, 32GB for 32GB handsets), a 16GB class 4 of Transcend or Sandisk also works..Tested !! 2. Download this file in a folder http://www.4shared.com/zip/l6N9muH_ce/win32diskimager-v09-binary.html 3. Insert the SD card into the PC, we are making image partitions, SD can get corrupt or unusable, card reader will get damaged. 4. Download this resurrection file extracted by JTAG https://app.box.com/SCH-R530U (a 32GB JTAG mmblk0 file will be uploaded soon by me 5. Open the unzipped application of the extracted folder and select the JTAG bin file and write to the SD card 6. Remove the SD card and put it in the R530, remove the battery, insert a good power adapter, re-attach the battery 7. GEB will be a good alternative for personal requirements and mint condition phones are listed at a good price.

    For the N900P, the method I have used is rooting and replacing apns-conf.xml in etc folder after root. The new apns file is of 245 kb as against the sprint file of 6-8kb. This starts GSM data without any manual addition of APNs. The second option is rooting and editing the build.prop. ril.sales_code=LOL ro.csc.sales_code=LOL <- this will bring up the APN menu for manual input. After switching to GSM from CDMA, and going back to CDMA gives 'insert SIM to get mobile networks'. Dial ##3282#, SPCODE, 1x-hdr selection can do it. For this use this application from playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=diewland.settings.mobilenetworks&hl=en More easier methods may come up. apns-conf.xml diewland.settings.mobilenetworks-1.apk

    Sprint Note 3, Note 4, S5 and Mega works using this app. Guys should consider donating $20 toward's the contributor's hard efforts. GSM on Sprint phones was a dire requirement for all of us worldwide.
  15. Root by SuperSu_GS3_Debugfs_r2b. Enable developer options, USB debugging. Run the bat file in the folder. But RECRUC06 SIM works on 4.1.2 ME1 firmware without any problems.

  19. RGERUC000xxx series SIM cards do not support Sprint carrier S4 mini/Mega/Note 3/S5. Any RECRUC05/06 normal or micro SIM will work perfectly. RECRUC06xxx will be best suitable. RGERUC series is only compatible with Sprint S4 L720 on any firmware with MDC modem.
  20. For guys who want to use normal SIM cards on 4.4.4 for Razr M, Razr HD, Electrify M, Sprint Samsung Mega and Sprint Samsung S4 mini, flash official CM11 or PA_msm8960_unified ROMs (for all 2013 Motorola devices). Keeping 4.4.4 bootloader and modem will not matter. Sent from my N900p

    Yes you can surely take NV backup. It is always a good practice. Experienced guys should take EFS backups also as each android build of each device has different EFS partition size and useful during "baseband unknown" issues. Sent from my N900p

    Everything is working as earlier. Signal levels unstable. No major changes or any other work around. Do not change NH7 baseband or phone will be bricked.
  24. There have been delays with PPO services from little over a fortnight. Also there seems to be a customs issue again with them. Invoices are charged nearly double the amount of the same item of same value. Till 15th September, ICCworld was handling highest logistics ever in it's history but some RIMweb members have been overcharged recently. PPO says an increase of 4% on customs duty has been imposed of late amounting to 11% duty, but the 4% hike cannot be double the amount. Best would be to call them up before purchasing anything from US.

    If your car is old, they will minus the full tax amount according to the number of years old car. Supposing it is an eight year old car, they will minus eight years tax or some other calculation and eventually settle to around 40% of the initial lifetime tax paid in the home state registering authority. A good agent will give exact estimation without committing to pay Mumbai tax.
