  1. Due to a large section of buyers now opting to purchase GSM enabled CDMA device, I add another device for CDMA data provisioning. There are no special requirements to enable CDMA data on VZW G3. Root is not required. This is applicable to those users whose manual APN of #777 does not enable data. 1. From the dialpad, ##PROGRAM985, go to port test, switch it on. Diag mode will be ON. 2. With data enabled SIM inside, using DFS, go to data section and select, evdo_MFPA 3. Enable all the six profiles with omhtest@omh.relianceinfo.com in the MIP section fields and write. 4. May sometimes need to make APN as #777 if data does not start.
  2. I am not able to use Hostspot/tethering in verizon Moto droid Maxx in cdma mode. It asks to call verizon customer care to enable. Any way to get it work?

Help Needed.
  4. Verizon has launched a ditto copy of Samsung Galaxy Stellar named Samsung Legend model no. i200.PP. This phone is marketed for their so called prepaid service. US sellers are getting confused or deliberately shipping i200.PP in place of the original Samsung Stellar i200 as the handsets are identical. This handset does not have a SIM card slot and the other distinct difference is in the MEID series. This phone has a series starting from A000XXXXXXXXX. Phone ships via 4.1.2 so hidden menu and other fixes and tweaks stop here. To map the diag port, download the attached utility. Use your favorite CDMA tool and a Samsung i605 password and the SPC will be displayed. Note that the SPC of this phone is not 000000 though its Verizon. All data parameters have been successful in programming this handset on our network. PhoneUtilss.apk
  5. Verizon Pantech Breakout is an unlocked CDMA OMH SIM handset where all SIM cards support calls and sms. There is no hidden settings involved in achieving calling and messaging. However it does not support data on RUIM of Reliance but with some minor tweaking, Tata Indicom SIM supports 3G/EVDO internet. Steps:- 1. Root the phone in few steps following this guide and the attached files. http://www.techychat.com/2013/05/28/root-pantech-breakout/ 2. After successful root, download and install root explorer 2.16 or older 3. Replace my attached build.prop in system folder and apns-conf.xml in system/etc folder, set all permissions and reboot. 4. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and select CDMA only Note:- Data on this device only works in evdo areas. there is no 1x support available on this phone. data icon will remain 1x in evdo areas and no data will work in 1x areas. Evdo speed is recorded on this 1x icon. After putting this settings, there will never be any need to change/modify any setting even after changing to any number of SIM cards. Also note that there is no success on Reliance RUIM for data on this phone till date. apns-conf.xml build.zip
  6. This guide will eliminate the process of HI-APN or any other APN backup apps, strings or scripts. Download the attachment apns-conf.xml on your desktop. This method works from 4.0.4 LF2 to MB1 4.1.2. Phone has to be rooted and bootloader unlocked. Install Root explorer.apk on the phone and place the file apns-conf.xml in system>etc folder. SU will grant permissions. This file contains APNs of the entire GSM networks worldwide, got it from Google code. 2G/3G will work as usual. This mod works on any custom ROM. 4.1.2 and rooting guide:- http://theunlockr.com/2013/04/02/how-to-root-the-verizon-samsung-galaxy-s-iii-running-android-4-1-2/ apns-conf.xml
  7. While configuring 1x and EvDO on Verizon Samsung Stellar i200, it is observed that due to more security on this phone, the phone goes offline while selecting CDMA bands. If the phone does not restore to factory NAM, then a downgrade to stock ROM is essential. If the phone goes offline on 4.2.2 or 4.1.2 (VRBMA1) it should be downgraded to stock 4.0.4 (VRALG4) via ODIN. As soon as phone boots on 4.0.4 ROM, dial *#22745927 and press ##72786# to clear NAM settings. Phone will be on Reliance network once it boots. Below are the factory images in case anyone needs them. 8. Is it possible to get a Verizon Blackberry Z10 to work on Reliance CDMA once its MEID is registered ? Or does it need extensive programming etc ? If possible, then will there be any issue of PIN (say in BBM or appworld) ? though BES/BIS is no longer essential now. Reason I am asking is that I have bought a Z10 (GSM) but my office number seems to be having issues in getting ported to Reliance GSM. Lot of verizon Z10 are available (even with unlocked GSM) and I am thinking if my porting doesn't happen then can i buy a verzon z10 and use on RCDMA ?

  10. Verizon Galaxy Note II - GSM Unlock - Add APN Data - Remove Non-Verizon SIM Message Source Topic This is great info. We have one of the best phone now working with GSM Data. CDMA Voice with SIM Card should work without any change & CDMA Data through SIM can also be tried through this APN method. I think we may have another best seller on our hand after Incredible 2 which works on CDMA & GSM SIM Card with Data! How to add APN data: In order to get data working you have to add carrier specific data to the apns-conf.xml file. While you may have been able to do this is in the past on other devices under settings, VZW has blocked this. Method 1: Flashable mod (via custom recovery) that will enable the Add APN menu by removing Verizon's block.(For deodexed roms only) >> http://www.mediafire.com/?wqmad2ypgsyd75z This enables the apn editor under settings. Go to Settings, More Settings, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names, menu button. Method 2: Ensure your phone is rooted adb pull /system/etc/apns-conf.xml Add the carrier data to apns-conf.xml with your favorite text/xml editor and save adb push your modified apn-conf.xml file back to /sdcard/ Copy this file back to /system/etc/ and change permissions (I use root explorer) Power down and change your SIM card (AT&T, T-mobile, whatever) if you hadn't already done so Power back on and go to Settings -> More Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names (if done properly you should see the APN data you entered for your respective carrier). Select one of the APN listings and then you should have working data Profit Removing the Non-Verizon SIM message When Using a Non Verizon SIM Card: This will occur on roms that include Samsung's Setup Wizard (including stock) - all others can ignore Method 1: - Freeze "Setup wizard 1.0" in Titanium Backup Method 2: Download THIS APK for a deodexed ROM only and replace the original in /system/app/, then reboot. Make sure that /system is mounted as read/write before copy/pasting, and also that you're on a deodexed ROM. After copying it over, reboot and you shouldn't have the ongoing notification anymore.
  11. Hi All, I'm thinking of buying Motorola Razr M by Verizon.I'm particularly smitten by the compact size of the phone for a 4.3 incher as well as good specs. As most of u might know , it also has a Worldphone capability with GSM slot like Photon etc, I was wondering if it has same issues like USSD code etc that were present in photon. if anyone have imported it and used it, can u please give me an insight if its worth getting this phone. I occasionally use RCDMA and mainly looking for using it for GSM. So need to know it works without issues or not with GSM. Thanks
  12. Hello all this is a detail note about getting 1X on verizon palm pre plus 1. first turn off developer mode 2. after phone restart put phone on diag mode 3. connect phone to pc 4. install diag drivers 5. go to computer management and check the port number 6. then open qpst 2.7 build 7. in qpst configuration add the palm port 8. then open qpst service programing 9. you will see mobile esn and name if any. 10. select that phone and say read from phone 11. it will ask for SPC, SPC for all verizon phone are zero. 12. First important thing is to take backup for qpst configuration. 13. there is "save to File...." button , click on it and save the new file. 14. then go to profiles 15. put active profile=0 16. set ip = simple ip 17. then select profile 0 and then click on edit 18. then make all ip=0.0.0.0 19. in profile 0 keep user name password as it is. 20. then go to PPP tab. 21. in UM put user id and password as phone number. 22. do same in AN 23. then do write to phone, it will write all configuration to phone and phone will reboot automatically. 24. then in phone go to epst (##3836#) and put phone on 1x/rtt 25. make all IP zero in browser configuration in phone and reboot the phone So u can see 1X logo on screen and you can access to internet!!

  15. Friends, I am in US for a short while (so makes no sense to get a phone with contract) and thought of buying a phone on ebay or Amazon. I hope to buy a phone that I can use while in US and also continue to use in India. I hope some of you can help me take a decision. I can choose a service from Verizon(preferred) or Sprint. I would typically prefer the following for the phone - 1. Ease of use 2. Battery life 3. Inbuilt GPS (no idea if RCDMA supports A-GPS, with inbuilt GPS can store maps and use them when not in network) 4. EVDO capabilities 5. It would be nice if it can talk to exchange servers for e-mail 6. Camera / Video capabilities
