  5. as bigboys like vodafone & idea did not get spectrum for lte in 2010, now all spectrum goes tech-neutral bigboys & new players incl uninor will look into narrow band lte roll out in coming days, with more focus on data hungry circles/cities. >>> voice n data says jio may launch on 26th January in selected circles.
  6. A sunday and a 28th Dec went by and Jio is still mum. If they are launching next year, its March - April. Otherwise if they would get extension it's another 2-3 years from now.
  7. Airtel 4G - most dense in punjab & haryana. Aircel - only soft launched. Even commercial plans are yet to come.
  8. Soon Idea and Vodafone like a dog will follow Airtel's footprint.

    I am using a basic phone for mts for long time and now looking for a cdma smartphone. But as jio 4G is coming soon, I don't want to spend much on cdma smartphone. A LTE2300+EVDO+HSPA+ supported smartphone would be the best choice, but I think such phones will be at 20k+ range. Hence a single sim, 512mb ram cdma phone would be good enough. What do you suggest?

  12. ^^ As Jio got 1800 mhz few months back, it's obvious that Jio 4G will be launched over 2.3Ghz band all over India. They will use 1800mhz band almost 1 year after.

    yes BSNL EVDO is cheap but is available to fewer people - 10% EVDO coverage compared to Pvt CDMA operators. BSNL should be killed.

    With Rev B Phase II each 1.25MHz spectrum channel can offer speed upto 4.9Mbit/s downlink. So using 3 channels operators can offer upto 14.7Mbit/s. MTS uses 2 channels, hence 9.8Mbit/s on their 3GPlus network. They put their 3rd 1.25MHz channel for voice calls. Tata uses Rev B Phase I technology, hence 3.1Mbit/s x2 = 6.2Mbit/s downlink.

  17. Intex GC 5050 is a good phone, but as I use it, I can say it can be your worst nightmare as the contacts you save are not actually saved, the name remains but the no. does not. Sometimes the no is changed with another blank contact name. Otherwise performance is good. You can't dial *225# from it.

  20. See for RIL Gujarat is the top state, so if they start rolling out WiFi in cities to cities in Gujarat, no wonder! With WiFi services free of cost, they can easily understand consumers' browsing or download habits and those can be implemented in upcoming 4G services.
