  1. LTE is a data only network so calls don't work without enabling VoLTE. Jio Join app is used in a non VoLTE phone for voice and video calls. So either VoLTE or Jio Join app (for non VoLTE phones) is the only option for making or receiving calls in Jio Network since it is 4G Only network. Whereas Rcom and vodafone etc. have 3G and 2G fall back for voice. So when there is a call, incoming or outgoing the phone switches to 3G or 2G network to connect the call and switches back to 4G once the call is disconnected.
  2. As more and more customers join Jio inter connectivity issue wil get solved by itself. As most voice/video calls will be from Jio to Jio (Now I am calling my brother on his Jio and asking my wife and relatives also to go and get Jio). This is what Jio actually wants so that they can continue their free voice call offer without paying interconnectivity charges. In fact if the number of subscribers increase, AVoId will be paying Jio for interconnectivity charges instead. So Mukesh is trying to lure every indian to procure Jio SIM by way of 4 months free offer and aboard Jio network.
  3. Both are valid. Either biometric or may be OTP can be used. Depends on their setup - will have to find out.
  4. Only the aadhar number is required and the person physically present for thumb impression verification for e KYC.
  5. Any information regarding e-kyc enabled Jio outlet in Mira Bhayandar ?
  6. I got my SIM without generating any code and also without showing my handset. Just told them the model and make (i.e. Lava X11 which I bought for Rcom 4G keeping in mind the VoLTE feature so that if I switch to Jio). I inserted the SIM in slot 2 and activated so it is not related to IMEI since the IMEI of slot 1 is normally considered for database. I don't have any other 4G phone at the moment to test and confirm. Yesterday I updated MyJio app and is now not showing any get SIM or Avail offer as it was showing in my handset earlier since I never generated any code. This means SIM is Free for everybody as long as they have a 4G phone because it won't work otherwise. So SIM can be used or swapped between handsets if you are on My welcome offer. Mine is still showing "JPO Preview offer" valid till 3-12-2016 and might migrate to "Welcome Offer" after expiry.
  7. Your number will also work in place of email ID using same password. I don't think so as it is open for all 4G phone users.
  8. This was a few years back when they launched Xolo. Over the years things have changed and now Lava is being promoted as premi brand with extensive advertisement and M.S. Dhoni as brand ambassador.
  9. VoWifi

Jio is offering VoWiFi also. Those who are using JioFi - They can use Jio join App and connect through JioFi hotspot to Jio Network. Read features. https://www.jio.com/preview/jiofi There is a catch "You can use Jio join app ONLY if you are connected to Jio Network either through Jio 4G or Jio Wifi Hotspot". As specified by Jio. Otherwise it will be a violation of telecom regulation - still needs clarification as the below articles say that Jio can use any network. http://rtn.asia/t-t/16963/reliance-jio-users-can-make-calls-from-airtel-idea-vodafone-networks-too http://trak.in/tags/business/2016/01/27/reliance-jio-voice-calls-airtel-vodafone-idea/ Calls can be made through JioNet Hotspot (WiFi) if you have the sim in your handset. The handset which do not support VoWiFi can use Jio join App AFAIK. Have not tried yet though my phone supports IP calling.
  10. Will post a review in appropriate section and provide link. Xolo Era X and Lava X11 are almost identical models (Xolo is a sub brand of Lava Iinternational). I prefered Lava though the price was 1500 higher than Xolo. Both offer better specs at moderate price. Means better value for money. Build quality, Camera and accesories are better in Lava since it is their premium brand as compared to Xolo which is to cater a specific price conscious market share.
  11. when I called again after televerification on the same number 1977 because incoming was working but data and outgoing wasn't working, the call was diverted to cc in 3 mins. Then I had a few similar 20 mins wait and then I disconnected like you. But I am aware of the customer load at present because every one is eager to board Jio network and try all apps. Then I got connected after 9 mins but after midnight. In the morning at 6:30 got connected within seconds when I selected english instead of Hindi as language. So it seems Hindi language wait is more than other languages though they speak hindi as well as english irrespective of the chosen language. Waiting is worth if the problems really get sorted. I am aware that all new subscribers like me are eager to sort their issues immediately and so the wait.
  12. VoWifi

AFAIK few models of LYF do support VoWiFi. Jio join app also supports call send and receive through wifi over Jio Network.
  13. Reliance 4G Data Pack Offers

"actions are strange" Anil ki satak gai hai !
  14. I found calling from Jio to Jio - video & voice quality is excellent. But while calling from Jio to Vodafone - the video call fails and switches to voice call and the sound quality is also bad.
  15. Reason why I purchased LAVA X11 VoLTE. Works flawlessly with voice as well as video calls with crystal clear image and voice quality. I suggest everyone to go for VoLTE and also check support for Band 3/5/40.
  16. Yes you are right Hejmady. I called cc and he also told the same thing that default ID is the mobile number. I was able to login and also verify my email after which now both number as well as email ID is working as Jio ID while signing in. As far as regarding address rectification he told me to go to store. Today I wenr to the store and the manager told me to come on day after tomorrow since it was over crowded today and he promised me that things will be fixed. I found that Jio Customer care executives are polite, soft spoken, helpful and cooperative - the number of time I called and the way they helped and guided me to resolve my issues. Hope they will continue like this in future too but till now Jio experience is smooth and enjoyable sailing.
  17. Activated my SIM by dialing 1977. Within 20 minutes received messages regarding activation of JPO (Jio Preview Offer) valid till 3-12-2016. Downloaded My Jio App and created Jio ID with gmail account using OTP but did not receive any activation e-mail. Logged in using skip sign in and tried to change email still did not receive any OTP on mail. There are mistyping errors in my address (error from their end) - will I have to visit Reliance store or can get it rectified through email ? Any solution for ID ? Update: After 1 Hour received the mail - when clicked it said "Your Jio ID is already active! Sign in & manage your account". But when I try to login using Jio ID and password it says "Jio ID and password do not match. Please re-enter and try again." - tried to reset the password using OTP - password changed successfully but again same sign inproblem. I can log in using skip login method. But I want my Jio ID to work.
  18. Jio will accept MNP from 5th Sept 2016 onward for prepaid as well as postpaid connections. For postpaid connection you need to carry any current postpaid bill with you while filling the CAF. Currently migrating from prepaid to postpaid or vice-versa is also not available for Jio users and will be possible in future by way of filling a Migration / CAF. https://www.jio.com/en_US/faq/free-welcome-offer/can-convert-from-prepaid-to-postpaid-and-vice-versa.html
  19. Lets wait for the "Pleasant Surprise" New Year's Gift! Meanwhile eNjoY "4 months TENSION FREE 4G data & voice" 2015 farewell Gift! One more question : Is 4 months enough for Airtel, Vodafone & Idea to draw a competitive tariff for 2017 ? or Is it Jio's revenue Blow to them ? Jio is clever enough to motivate user to upgrade to 4G handset (Now damn cheap) with this free subsidy (4 months cost saving) since Jio is 4G ONLY network. Sooner we will see IP TV adapter/box (connecting through mifi device) for watching our favorite TV show in place of setup box of DTH. (Already Miracast/wireless display adapters are in use).
  20. Reliance 4G Data Pack Offers

Tried Reliance 4G ₹39 recharge (200MB 4G data for 28 days). Received message saying "Recharge of Rs 39 successful. Reliance" When checked balance it said "Your 3G net Balance is 200.00 MB (Valid til..." (No mention of 4G though it works for 4G) The data works on 4G as well as 3G/2G modes. But after using in 4G mode the unused data balance is not effected and remains same - means the balance doesn't get deducted. But while using in 3G mode the unused data balance also gets reduced accordingly. Did anyone else faced similar issue. I was just trying to check whether using 4G recharge in 3G mode works or not. So now it works as single pool 4G/3G. I tried this on a ₹0.00 core balance mobile to see if it works as assured by CC.
  21. Priorities differs from person to person. Like my wife is always on calls and is happy - but like you I also need data and not bothered about calls. But in India if we go by population there are more voice users than data users (since every user who procures a mobile connection primarily uses it for calls only. Only users like us (including me) are data hungry. Since Jio network is data based network, they want to push/convert the regular voice users also towards data user (by providing TV channel, music etc.) in future. Isn't it better than others ? - I think Jio has forced others to reduce data tariffs since last 6months or so because of its moderate pricing as of now. We can expect cheaper data in future only if competition prevails. So IMHO Reliance is playing safe - Live and Let Live (Not Live & Let Die - 007 ).
  22. Yes! Though voice calls are carried in form of data (VoLTE in LTE network) it will not be accounted/appear in our main data connection (Voice uses IMS channel instead) and voice will work even if your Data is switched off. Please read the terms properly and you will get the answer regarding charges. (No charges for data used for calls is clearly mentioned) http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/37862-reliance-jio-to-be-launched-on-september-5/?do=findComment&comment=331602 or https://www.jio.com/en-in/plans All doubts will be cleared - Do check the PDF format plan details.
