Recommended Posts

LG RD6600 is available for Rs. 4900/-

Thats what I said, no other similar phone is this cheap.

Very correct my dear Abhishek. LG RD6600 is the best handset available at such a cheap price. Although the quality is not that cheap at all.

Its value for money my dear friends.

Am looking for a CDMA handset (under Rs. 9K) to use with my Reliance connection. I had an RD 6500 with very good features but it was snatched from me on the roads of Ahmedabad. Am very particular about phone and organiser functions andusability and less about radio/camera/video.

Can people tell me about the 6600 -

- In the phonebook, how many numbers can I store under each name? (8 for LG6500: 2 home, 2 office, 2 mobile, 1 fax, 1 general)

- Can I search the Phonebook (Contacts list) by number as well as by name?

- Can I send/receive (by sms) numbers from the phonebook to/from others?

- From the Phonebook, can I send an sms?

- From the call register, can I navigate back to Contacts to maybe call back the caller on another number in his name?

- From the call register, can I send the caller an sms?

- From the sms register, can I call the sms sender on the same number?

- From the sms register, can I navigate back to Contacts to maybe call back the sms-sender on another number in his name?

- Can I send sms to multiple people simultaneously (without defining group)?

- Can I define gropus to send sms to? How many such groups can I define?

- In each group how many numbers can there be, max?

- In LG 6500 there was a big problem with gropu sms - you could send group sms only to those for whom only Home number was filled. Quite idiotic. Is there any such limitation with MAX?

- Does it handle long messages by breaking into small messages?

- Can I copy/paste between messages?

- Can I download the Reminders/Birthdays/Appointments/etc.?

- Can I download SMSes into my PC?

- Can I schedule reminders as daily/weekly/mothly/yearly?

- Can I download scheduler/calendar/reminder into PC?

- Does the phone have a feature to give a periodic tinkle at intervals to draw attention to unread sms's? Or does it tinkle just when an sms comes in?

Sorry for the long list, but I do want to buy the phone having the conveniences I need. The answers to all the above questions (except Send/Receive phonebook nos. and download) were Yes for 6500, by the way, so I do want at least these functions and more in the new phone I buy.

If any other phone also provides all these features, do let me know.

Any member using this LG 6600 for netconnect please give your review on the speed and reliability of this handset for Internet usage.

Also since this phone has bluetooth can we use BT to connect to our laptop instead of a datacable and use internet?

Yes I use the netconnect facility occasionally via bluetooth, and it just works great

the speed is good and the connection is constant

can u pl. describe the step how did u achived this item Rconnect throgh Bluetooth on RD6600

can u pl. describe the step how did u achived this item Rconnect throgh Bluetooth on RD6600

Vijay Panchal

considering it is the first time you are connecting your phone via bluetooth

ON THE PHONE

1. Got to TOOLS >> BLUETOOTH >> BLUETOOTH ACTIVE >> ENABLE

2. BLUETOOTH >> DUN ACTIVE >> ENABLE

3. BLUETOOTH >> MY VISIBILITY >> ONCE

when done when this follow these steps on your VISTA pc

1. Enable bluetooth and add the device

2. If you are not able to see the device it might mean that the device is invisible because LG RD 6600 has a visibility of just 3 minutes. In such case repeat step 3 from above and again try searching for devices

3. You will see the phone and the DUN modem getting installed.

4. Once that is complete, go to START>> CONNECT TO >> SET UP A NEW CONNECTION OR NETWORK >> SET A DIAL UP CONNECTION

here you will see the list of modems, if tf you successfully completed above steps you will see a modem with "Bluetooth Link" select that and then give your user id and password ie. your reliance 10 digit number and the number to dial is #777.

Hopefully you will connect following these steps.

One important thing while using netconnect via phones :D

Restart your phone at the end of the net session, else it might happen that the billing may continue for the next half an hour.

Still not able to make it (if you can give me ur email.id then it would we great help)

Neither to cable nor to Bluetooth.

Step which I have followed.

Switch on all the three items in mobile

ON THE PHONE

1. Got to TOOLS >> BLUETOOTH >> BLUETOOTH ACTIVE >> ENABLE

2. BLUETOOTH >> DUN ACTIVE >> ENABLE

3. BLUETOOTH >> MY VISIBILITY >> ONCE

Next Steps :

1. Enable bluetooth and add the device

Vijay > It is already enable ….1

And already mine mobile is as pair connection…..2

Even I am able to send a mp3 file from computer to mobile ….3

But

When now I am trying to add this devices once again, mine computer fails to search it.

And I am not able to send any file to computer from mobile

Assuming pair device is already connected….going ahead

2. If you are not able to see the device it might mean that the device is invisible because LG RD 6600 has a visibility of just 3 minutes. In such case repeat step 3 from above and again try searching for devices

Vijay > I know, that’s fine

3. You will see the phone and the DUN modem getting installed.

Vijay > No nothing happen, skipping and going ahead

Vijay > mine problem is again started.

Start > Setting > Network Connection > Setup New connection is missing……1

So now let me try to edit mine existing connection.

So I have selected mine existing Vijay connection and opened Property Dialog Box.

There are three connection were listed

Modem - Standard Modem over Bluetooth link (COM 7)

Modem - In-Build Conexant Type 2 modem (COM 3)

Modem - Standard 33600 bps Modem (COM 4)

At this point I was happy that I could able to see blue tooth link.

Selected and Said Okay.

Selected Vijay connection and Connect, enter Login ID and Passward and got Error Connecting to Vijay.

Thanks,

Vijay Panchal
