So after several months, my dad finally got the new series CDMA SIM card from Reliance.

Now, data (1x) is working fine on his Razr HD Maxx XT926. He is using stock Android 4.4.2 (as far as I remember).

It's failing on my dad's droid. Downloads it fine then restarts to install. After boot says it was unsuccessful .

Even for seasoned pros, when cdma smartphones can turn out to be such a pain in back, imagine poor noobs who are stuck with such accidental updates.. Is there really a future for cdma smartphones when the lollipop update comes knocking?

After updating CM 11, I am unable to receive or send call with sims starting 6,7,8,... Only less than 5 series only calls are working. If we put series 6 only one call will go or one call will come and then no calls at all.

Update: now even EV signal is lost

Second update: the signal is down in this area for some unknown reason. As it worked fine in Nehru place today.

In fact I am noticing battery life improvement on my droid maxx after the update.

Around 2% per hour now with occasional use. With moderate use it goes to 3%.

I had removed it from plug after 100% charge yesterday afternoon at 12:30 approx. You can see it still showing 54% left. All this happened only after recent update. Else it would have depleted by now.

Update: getting evdo signals but data is only working on 1x, not sure whats the reason.

Resolved by creating request on imstacare app.

There may be actual hope for all droid users , moto x, ultra, mini & maxx only.

According to this article

https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releases/2009/02/16/qualcomm-introduces-worlds-first-complete-multi-mode-3glte-integrated

The chip set present on these models i.e. msm8960 supports evdo up to rev b. How it can be made to work only gurus can tell.
