They tested 6700 long back. TESTING is never the problem...

its always

-The launch date

-The Price

-The crippled features. (LIke no EVDO ON RIM YET)

may be they test it so long that by the time they are to launch it.. because of the technological upgradation.. these handsets are then priced low.

thus better offtake.

this could be a reason.

but all the same the handset is damn hot...

UTS6800 with EVDO Rev 0 Chipset is no Problem

Only Problem is EVDO Rev A with MSM7500 Chipsets, Verizone is Fighting with some Radio ROM issue of this with Windows Mobile OS

that might get sorted out in April or May, Official Launch date in Verizon is in June as per Sources. Lets wait what is being done in India.

Another Issue with the Phone is It Uses MEID and pESN than ESN that might also create Problem in Reliance

This week at CTIA, HTC is showing off two new CDMA Windows Mobile devices publicly for the first time. Both devices will ship with Telus in Canada in the 2nd quarter, and in the US around mid-year. Both will sport EVDO Rel. 0 initially, although they are software-upgradeable to support Rev. A.

  • S720: A CDMA version of the S710 / Vox shown off at 3GSM last month. Previously code-named the Libra, this small phone looks like a standard bar-style phone, but slides open sideways to reveals a small QWERTY keyboard. Like the S710, it will ship with Windows Mobile 6.
  • P4000: A CDMA version of the Hermes (Cingular 8525), but thinner and with a spring-assisted slide. Available 3rd Quarter. This phone will initially ship with Windows Mobile 5, although it is upgradeable to version 6 if carriers choose to offer it.

what to speculate? RAM is same, only ROM is increased. Means you can have more programs on main memory than 6700. Better battery life, 20% because it has 1500 MAH against 1350 in 6700. Even screen is 65K colors only. Had it been 262K it would have been bit improvement. Even AKU 3.5 now is much faster, perhaps as fast as WM6.

Frankly, I am not impressed.

The Pocessor they have used is Qualcomm MSM7500 400 mhz Processor

This have 2 Core

One @ 133 Mhz

Second @ 400 Mhz

All Phone Function and Sleep Mode is Handled by 133 Mhz Core

and all other Function is handled by 400 Mhz Core

It have Dedicated Graphics Processing Unit inbuit in Procesor or Chipset.

As ROM is Samsung Nand Flash which uses slightly less power , faster and as All Program can be install in ROM Accessing and Processing will be definately better than 6700

Camera is SuperB compared to Nokias 2.0 Megapixle Camera, and the Software for Cemara is also Improoved a lot.

Bluetooth 2 is also known for Better Speed with Better Sleep mde Power Saving

Battery if Li POlymer instead of liION that whu they can push 1500 mah in same size.

The Thinck ness is Just 2/3 of 6700 and also Reduced the weight by 30 Grams.
