  3. The speculation of 28th Dec launch has been going on since 2012. Three years, nothing to show. 4G requires specialised handset. Many people have been deferring purchase of new handsets in the expectation of launch by RJIO. Sooner or later they would realise that the wait is too long and they would commit to an existing service provider and technology. And in India, people do not throw away new handsets. Also the prime mover advantage would soon be gone as Vodafone, Idea and Airtel readies themselves for 1800 Mhz based 4G launch. The delay is only going to cost RJIO.

  7. I guess there are ways to unlock the device and use it with a RUIM. But have you tried a different shop. They get commission on new devices, so would not be interested in activating old devices, even if it was possible from the Company side.

    @acs TP-LINK MR3020 is available on e-bay for around 1200 and supports most EVDO B data cards. In our office we are using TPLink W8968 to share one MTS connection over LAN.
  9. Mukesh Ambani launched original RIM on 28th Dec 2002 (Birth aniversary of Dhirubhai). So I would hazard a guess that it would be 28th Dec 2014 for Jio.
  10. for normal mobile data use like background whatsapp, messenger, email etc. there is no heating issue. but for active data use like using the browser phone heats up a little after 2-3 minutes. but when compared to the heating I have seen with basic phones in the initial days of RCDMA I would say its nothing much.

    ^^ you can get Rev.B unlocked dongles on EBay for around 1000. you can also get TP-link MR3020 router on Ebay for around 1200. combine the two and you have unlocked Rev.B with wifi.
  13. Blaze 4.5 now listed @ 4999 by same seller. Got my Blaze 5.0 few days back. RCDMA and Airtel GSM working well. Handset seems a little heavy. Lags once in a while. But in most places of Kolkata can not catch EVDO and shifts to 1x.

  15. @deepak shankar I expect that you have applied 10% discount code while purchasing. So it costed you around 4.7 K. As per seller, it would also come with a special MTS SIM that will give 97 GB EVDO data over 12 months for less than 200 p.m. At that price point, even for a GSM user, it would be a very acceptable deal. And even if not in MTS service area, you can tell the new EVDO data and call rates of Reliance. Even with R-CDMA data & voice, it would be a very good option for a GSM user, who can also retain the old number for incoming purposes.

    I have heard from some users that due to the bloated UI, RedMI becomes slow and there is very little memory left for additional apps.

  20. I was watching the seller for last 3 months. He started selling Blaze 5.0 at 8999. Till dewali he was selling @ 7899. Between Blaze 5 and Blaze 4.5, the difference seems only in Screen size, rear camera (8 mp vs 5 mp) and battery (2500 vs 1600). I am more comfortable with 4.5 screen and camera does not really matter. But would 1600 battery be good enough for moderate use with EVDO on. PS Blaze 4.5 is 5199 and not 4199.
