  1. @Amit: Nice to see you utilising the stuff that was lying idle on my cupboard. How's the backup you're getting?
  2. Android 4.4 KitKat

    Really? Never heard that before!
  3. Yes, TRAI has sent papers to DoT for approval, if that gets approved, inter state MNP will be a thing of past in 6 months' time.
  4. Chinese external battery pack which claims to be of 20,000 mAh capacity but it recharges my 2100 mAh for a max of 1.5 times (1full and a half charge). Purchased it just recently but since I don't like its performance, don't wanna carry extra weight in my backpack. Let me know who wants it and why! As earlier, preference will be given to experienced/older members/other's who've been contributing in this thread. All I want in return is the courier & packing charge (which should be ideally under Rs. 250). Here are the links to images: http://d.pr/i/1tkZ http://d.pr/i/e739
  5. Android 4.4 KitKat

Some blogger friends are running a campaign to request Google to name the next version as "Laddo" http://www.androidladdoo.com/
  6. Treo sent to @ DigitalNirvana (unlike his handle, IMO he hasn't attained 'DigitalNirvana' yet since he wants to try more gadgets )
  7. Have decided to give away the Treo to @digitalnirvana since he's a very old member and never used Palm OS. Please check PM
  8. Hello everyone! Was cleaning my cupboard and I want to give away my treo 755p handset. Last I used the phone about 3 years back and everything was working fine except that some keys needed hard press. All I want in return is the courier & packing (which should be ideally under Rs. 250). Edit: Since there are multiple requests, kindly also post a reason why you need the phone. Will give away to someone depending on it. Also preference will be given to older and experienced members.
  9. Guess buying a local SIM there is the best option. One can also get some GSM to Skype gateways like this and forward calls in Indian number to his US number or some Skype accounts - http://www.ebay.in/itm/271191107764?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  10. I think getting it to India will be a headache. Has anyone imported a laptop via ppobox? Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

@Bhav & Phonegeek- I would like to clarify couple of things: - Uploading phonebook data to their server is completely optional. Only when you enable "enhanced search" option after installing, it'll upload the contact to their database. And they also claim, they NEVER share their database with anyone. - It's just a reverse phone number search tool. So you cannot find the number against a name until the owner of the number approves and wants to share his number with you. (this is a new feature added on latest version). As far as your number being made available on their database, it is because one of your friend chose to enable 'enhanced search' to help TC build their database. If you wish to, you can easily unlist your number from their database from their website.
  12. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

Truecaller - A global crowd-sourced phonebook that builds its database with the help of its users, for its users. Whenever there's a call from an unknown number, this will let you know the caller's name. Amazing isn't it? If you are still not impressed, give this app a shot. Or may be search for your number on their website and you'll know how accurately it works https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.truecaller&hl=en
  13. Rajan ji don't you think it's risky to import hard disks considering how carelessly items are being handled at airports?
  14. MNP Retention Offer You Received

And you seriously believe that? They tell the same thing to many but don't do anything afterwards. It's a standard retention technique to calm down the customer! They won't retain the number, simple!
  15. Discounts & Deals For Non Electronics/Gadget Stuff

Yeah. This was 2 good 2 be true. Have subscribed for shopclues newsletter after missing this
  16. MNP Retention Offer You Received

My primary number is with R- CDMA (postpaid) for past ~7 years. Recently when I wanted to move to some other network 'cos of network issues, they said they are seeking permission from higher authority to install an antenna (don't know technical name) at my place

  18. Hi all, I am seeking some information to clear my confusion regarding activation and usage of data plans on my HTC Incredible Since couple of months, I was not using data services on my incredible and last month, one of the most loved member - 'Genuius' helped me activate data services back on the handset. With 4 days of usage, I got billed approx. Rs. 141 with RWorld L1 plan already activated. The total billed amount is bifurcated as: - Reliance net connect (in min) - Reliance net connect (in MB) - Network usage, etc (Attached screenshot for your ref.) Now, can the experts and experienced members advise me, if I activate the recently launched Rs. 199 data plan (giving 500 MB) of usage, will I be billed anything apart from Rs. 199 + Rs. 25 (for already activated L1 plan) for usage upto 500 MB? Or is there any hidden charges involved? P.s. I went through @mitJ@in's guides and notes about data charges and usages but am still confused. Shall appreciate the help of experts Thanks & regards, Deepak
  19. Reliance GSM Retention Plans

Hi friends, I am currently on CDMA with DSWT 399 plan that I got as a special retention scheme and I currently wish to move on to GSM services as, in GSM services I get the flexibility to keep switching phones easily that I get for review from different mobile companies (and friends ) . My question is: - Are you aware if there's any similar retention plan available on GSM (free roaming i/c as in my current plan) - Do you see any disadvantage in moving to GSM over the current CDMA service? Thanks Deepak

  21. Hi Admin, mods & members.. I am starting this topic as I did not find any specific topic relating to rworld membership plans and the charges therein... (If there is anything similar please merge it) After moving from post to pillar, contacting customer cares, sales executive in my area, contacting some rimwebians, looking other threads, I could not clear anything about Rworld charges, its services and exemptions for membership plans.. I am getting a new Mogul, as such I will be in need of a unlimited data plan and when called customer care for the same, some executives say 249 membership plans provide unlimited rworld access without any NUC (network usage charges) and some say NUC will be charged as per existing rates (5ps/10kb) Even recently our very own Dhiraj aka Dkaile got 199 rs worth rworld plan activated wherein upto 100mb of data transfer is free, even then he was charged as per the prevailing NUC and also 199 as plan rental So anyone already using 249 rworld membership plan in postpaid please confirm its charges (whether its unlimited or not) and also let me know whether all websites, IM (instant messengers) can be accessed and which ID and password do you use for it from mogul/treo.. (I presume the id is 'UTS@Relianceinfo.com') http://www.reliancemobileworld.co.in/RMWor.../kbcharges.html The above link says that we can only use wap based sites using Rworld.. is it so?
  22. ^^ Check out my signature link for a 2nd hand Treo 755P
