Nokia 2228 Low-end Cdma Phone With Led Indicator Light

Recommended Posts

nokia-2228.jpg

Nokia is out with a new CDMA phone - 2228. The low-end device seems designed to help the Finnish giant grab some marketshare in the CDMA space, where traditionally Nokia doesn’t stack well.

Being a low-end/entry-level device means there’s nothing to get too excited. The Nokia 2228 is a simple clamshell phone, sporting such features as a 1.3 megapixel camera, 128×160 pixels screen, music player, 2.5 mm universal headset jack, FM radio, and a neat LED indicator light that flashes with incoming calls or messages waiting. Size wise, the device measures 110×40x12 mm and has a weight of 72 grams.

According to the official information, the Nokia 2228 is expected to launch in select CDMA markets in Q4 2008, meaning we could see it being introduced by the carriers anytime soon.

What's the big handle doing on the left hand side? Nokia should give a bottle opener attached next time on :D

Maybe a mobile with swiss knife!

According to me they deliberately sell such phones in cdma market. They may be wanting to prove that nokia, se and motorola only can make good, phones with matured os, may be its nerve game with qualcomm

they just want to reap up every market........since they have a major share in gsm marketso how can they not have theri share in cdma as well?........its just that they want to persist in cdma market....as most of theri R&D is toward gsm services

its only a few months after re-signing agreement with qualcom. don't worry cdma invention on higher end mobiles will be going on.. this model is only a mean time product to show their return.. if they fix a cheap price for this model similar to gsm handsets, then surely they plan to enter cdma completely..

Unless there is a slider somewhere or these are not the actual phone pics, I fail to see where the camera lens is. :)

Guys,

I am currently using this Nokai 2865 phone. Due to excessive use, I started facing problems with the ear-piece.

I desperately wanna change the handset. But no new handsets seem to be that good. I also checked the Nokia 6275. I'm not quite happy with it.

Any updates on this model Nokia 2228 as to when it's gonna be available here in India? Or any other new models which are to arrive anytime soon?

Please keep posted about this topic.

Many Thanks,

Vinay
