The only terrorist in the hands of the police has given details of his deadly mission in his statement. The statement was given at the DB Marg (Lamington Road) police station and DNA has gained access to it. It is signed by Azam Amir Qasab, 21, who has identified himself as a resident of Faridkot in Chipaalpura taluka of Ukhad zilla in Punjab, Pakistan.

"I was trained by militants of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba in Pakistan for three months and asked to cause maximum casualties in Mumbai," says the statement.

Qasab has given details of the training imparted by the LeT in Pakistan to 15 men, the modus operandi that they were to use, their journey to Mumbai, and how anti-terrorism expert Hemant Karkare and two other police officers were killed.

According to the first information report filed on the basis of the statement, the group was trained for three months followed by a month's break. This was followed by another month's training, "wherein we were trained how to hijack vessels at sea. We were indoctrinated by showing us CDs of atrocities on Muslims in India." They were also shown the locations where they were to operate and cause maximum damage, he said in the statement.

A few days before landing in Mumbai, the group of 15 terrorists, with a few associates armed with sophisticated weapons, explosives, and inflatable rafts, started their journey in a boat from Karachi. "At Porbandar, they hijacked a trawler carrying five Indian fishermen. They forced four of the crew to sit in the boat heading back to Karachi. The terrorists then boarded the Indian trawler, took one Indian captive, and sailed ahead," said the FIR.

Four nautical miles away from the Mumbai coast, they killed the hostage fisherman and landed opposite Badhwar Park at Cuffe Parade on their inflatable rafts on November 26.

"We then dispersed and left for our mission. I and my associate Abu Ismail Dera Ismail Khan, 25, also a resident of Punjab in Pakistan, left for CST railway station," Qasab told the police. The FIR said that after firing at CST, the duo went towards Cama Hospital through the narrow lane before Azad Maidan police station and moved ahead towards Rang Bhavan near St Xavier's College.

A police officer, on condition of anonymity, said that when a police Qualis carrying ATS chief Hemant Karkare, encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar, and additional commissioner Ashok Kamte neared the special branch office, Qasab and Ismail Khan, who were at the Rang Bhavan corner, opened fire and killed them.

Qasab and Ismail then hijacked the vehicle and drove towards Metro. While Qasab drove, Ismail fired indiscriminately on the police and public on the road. One tyre of the Qualis got punctured near Vidhan Bhavan and the two came out looking for another vehicle. "They stopped a Skoda car (MH-02 JP-1276) in which a couple was travelling. They assaulted the couple, threw them out of the car, and drove ahead," the officer said. At Girgaum Chowpatty at about 12:30am, they were intercepted at a police checkpoint, where Ismail Khan was killed in an exchange of fire while Qasab suffered a bullet wound.

Why nobody talk about the recent attack to our country? Are everybody frightned?

FIRST I'M SALUTING ALL THE ARMED FORCE MEMBERS THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AND THOSE WHO INVOLVED IN THIS OPERATION

Second, I'm giving condelense to the families of Indian citizen those who lost their lives on this terror attack.

I want to inform all of our Indian brothers and sisters, that please please do not listen to Politicians, they are only for looking into the votes, they have not capable to do any decisions, They are wothless irrespective, etc.

Don't blame our muslim brothers and sisters, all of them are Indians, but some of them changed their minds because of the training they achieved from Pakistan. I have no hesitation to say that this attack has been planned in Pakistan, and with full support of Pakistan they have done this.

I know I'm emotional, but we don't want to happen this attacks any more. After 9/11 in America, we can see there is no more attacks on America. Because there is no interference on the armed forces from politicians. But here in India, our armed forces hands and legs are tied and our Armed forces cheifs cannot make a final decision.

There was 1 terrorist captured alive, infact he pleaded not to be killed when he was caught acting to be dead...

This is Azam Amir Kasav, a 21 year old from Faridkot in Pakistan. The only terrorist who has been captured alive.

Azam and his colleague attacked CST (victoria terminus) and then moving to Girgaum Chowpatty in a stolen Skoda. Here they were intercepted by team of police from Gamdevi station. Here his partner was killed and Azam was shot on his hand.

He pretended to be dead and was taken to Nair hospital when a cop figured out he was breathing. Tight lipped initially, Azam cracked in front of anti-terror squad.

Ammunition, a satellite phone and a map of CST was found on him. According to him, chief planner of the plot had come to Mumbai a month before and had scoped the locations. The group was instructed to keep killing till the very last breath.

The group of ten left Karachi, Pakistan in one boat and upon reaching Gujarat they asked for help from a coast guard ship. Two Indian coast guard officers intercepted the team at Porbandar. The terrorists overpowered one of the officers and slit his throat. The other officer was coerced into helping the team. However, as they arrived within 3-4 miles of Mumbai, the remaining officer was killed and thrown overboard.

Three speedboats were waiting for the terrorists. The team broke up into separate groups. Four left for Taj Mahal Hotel. Two went to Trident Hotel. Two went to Nariman House and two including Azam went to CST.

Azam is now at undisclosed location.

The account of Ajmal also strengthens the doubt of the complicity of powerful elements in the Pakistani establishment. According to him, the group set off on November 21 from an isolated creek near Karachi without the deadly cargo of arms and ammunition they were to use against the innocents in Mumbai. The group received arms and ammunition on board a large Pakistani vessel which picked them up the following day. The vessel, whose ownership is now the subject of an international probe, had four Pakistanis apart from the crew.

Also, the people of Mumbai and all over India must have been understood by now that it makes practically no sense to believe in politicians whose main policy is to "Divide n Rule" for votes{for personal gain}. These politicians were never available when "AMCHI MUMBAI" was under terrorist attack. Not even they cared to visit the site even when politicians from another state came down here in "AMCHI MUMBAI". Just observations:

1) This attack was aimed to also instill fear amongst the 'very rich' of all nationalities who were virtually unnaffected mentally/physically by blasts in Trains, roads, shops etc. happenning around the Globe. Probably this time, it was the reverse as the lower classes seemed directly unaffected.

2) This was aimed at killing many birds with one stone: i) Spreading terror amongst all classes ii) Paralyzing Tourism/Hospitality as ppl will think 2wice before staying in 5/7 stars in near future; especially the affected Hotels iii) Bringing shame to the Indian Govt. & face embarrassment from the International Community for not being able to protect their respective citizens. Remember when Daniel Pearl was decapitated in Pak iv) Attacking Taj in Mumbai as if to attacking Taj in Agra, India v) Further dividing the Rich-Poor with this ideoligy/point of view of theirs & hiding their real agenda.

3) Almost all politicians keeping mum, very well analyzing that the country was angry was not interested in them Politicizing the issue.. Except Narendra Modi.. who came, announced Crores for the brave hearts & then started barking that "i always warned the coastal guards for so & so". It was good that see news channels like Times Now immdtly cut from the scene & said - "we have better things to report as of now".

4) Controversial: The bravery displayed by iether side is commendable & i don't understand why ppl, especially politicians call Terrorism a cowardly act & conveniently hide behind it as an excuse/cover-up for lapses. Their reasons/ideoligy may be different but its wrong to brand such militants as cowards. The idea maybe cowardly but do you know what it takes to actually commit suicide? Yes, its equally wrong to glorify their heroics. Probably, they are doing this just to support their family with loads of money after they become Shaheed in name of Jihaad/Revenge & 'to f**k 77 virgins when they go to heaven'. Anyways we hope that not only NSG/Marco's but our policemen in general are also kept well motivated so that they do not do PhD's in bribes & further fan such attacks knowingly or unknowingly. Remember in '93 blasts RDX was imported through sea route by bribing coastal guards?

5) It was very inspiring to see how our forces were fighting Day & Night, taking it slow as they had to make sure that Hostages are safe/structure doesnt get damaged.. else who could have withstood attacks by rocket launchers carried by them. It has made me sit in front of the TV for atleast 25 hrs of the total 60 hrs of operation if not more.. The entire episode was gripping & very emotional.

6) Me being actually a Mumbaikar, feel that this 'Spirit of Mumbai' thing is just a cliche.. fact is that all this while, over the years of such incidents, the unaffected ppl just carried on with their daily routine to earn their living. Just like when govt. announces public holidays for Martyrs, ppl visit malls/theatres, hardly bothering about the actual significance of that day.

But yes, this incident will be etched into hearts because of various reasons we all share, Just like how U.S. was shaken up after 9/11. Such attacks do not happen everyday & will surely go a long way in keeping us united.

VS reacts sharply to snub by slain NSG's father

- Thiruvananthapuram/Bangalore: Smarting under the snub of the father of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the slain National Security Guard (NSG) commando, Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan Monday reacted strongly, saying had it not been the house of the officer "not even a dog would have gone that way".

Achuthanandan did not mince words on being turned away from the Unnikrishnans' Bangalore house Sunday night.

Speaking to an English language TV channel here Monday evening, the chief minister said: "Is there any rule that both the Karnataka chief minister and Kerala chief minister should go together to his home? If not for Sandeep's house, not even a dog would have gone there."

The Kerala chief minister and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan were Sunday night asked by K. Unnikrishnan to leave his home. The father of the slain NSG Major was apparently upset that Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddiyurappa visited him earlier to offer condolences, and the Kerala chief minister came four days later. The Unnikrishnans live in Bangalore, but belong to Kerala.

Sandeep Unnikrishnan was killed Friday while battling terrorists inside the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai.

Former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy said that Sandeep had laid down his life for the country. "Please, my appeal to all is that his death should not be made into a controversy," said Chandy.

Sunday night, an agitated Unnikrishnan refused to meet the Kerala political leaders and shut the door on them. With television cameras rolling, he shouted at the two political leaders and asked them to leave immediately.

After much persuasion, however, K. Unnikrishnan met Achuthanandan, who was accompanied by Balakrishnan.

Achuthanandan and Balakrishnan arrived from Kerala in Bangalore Sunday evening to offer condolences to Sandeep's parents K. Unnikrishnanan and Dhanalakshmi.

The parents were apparently upset that the Kerala government had not cared about their tragedy till Sunday and they told the Karnataka and Kerala police that they had no intention to meet the two leaders.

After appeals by senior police officials of the two states, Dhanalakshmi persuaded her husband to allow the leaders to come to their house in Yelahanka, about 12 km from the city centre.

The ministers then met Sandeep's parents, who expressed their anguish at the insensitivity of the political leaders, a family source said.

The source added that the father told the ministers that they bothered to visit their Bangalore home only because of criticism from the media back home and not because they wanted to share the family's grief.

Unnikrishnan reportedly agreed to allow the two leaders into his home on the condition that they would not speak to the media about their meeting or their son.

Asked about the meeting, Achutanandan said: "We came to convey our condolences."

In Mumbai, Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Hemant Karkare's bereaved family similarly snubbed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi when he announced a Rs.10 million cash relief to the families of policemen killed in the terrorist strike Wednesday.

Modi called on the Karkares in Mumbai Friday, but the family declined to accept any cash or assistance from Modi.

Gopinath Munde, Raj Thackray, Vilasrao Deshmukh all are rolling in money.

Vilasrao Deshmukh is one of the worst Chief minister I have seen. His

only business is to increase the FSI every other day, make money and send it

to Delhi so Congress can fight next election. Now the clown has found new

way and will increase FSI for fisherman so they can build concrete house

right on sea shore. Next time terrorist can comfortably live in those house ,

enjoy the beauty of sea and then attack the Mumbai at their will.

Recently I had to purchase house in Mumbai. I met about two dozen

builders. Everybody wanted about 30% in black. A common person like me knows this

and with all your intelligent agency & CBI you and your finance minister are

not aware of it. Where all the black money goes? To the underworld isn't

holder. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find wolf among

us. There will be political upheaval but that will better than dance of

death which we are witnessing every day. Just give us ambient where we

can work honestly and without fear. Let there be rule of law. Everything else

will be taken care of.

bro the biggest question is whom to vote......there is no potential candidate /parties

and i totally agree with the fact that parties are elected not ideologies.....but atleast one move can be done by our pm .....no one is expecting him to go out of the line.....but in the aftermath of so many attacks and so much of evidence still no action taken by our government besides shuffling the cabinet .....i mean is there no humanity in politicains cant they for once think abt countrymen.....it is really very sad

when i look into history of other countries even they have corrupt, power hungry ploiticians but when sum one kills their people they take stern steps.......and one tihing i cant understand is now FBI is also interrogating and investigating......man how can u let an investigative agency of other country interfere with our investigations .......y do u want to show the world v r so incompetent that v cant even interrogate one militant on our own ....it is a big big shame ......

and more than that when a shooter in olympics gets three crores from government for getting a gold medal ......whne v won twenty twenty world cup the cricketers got 80 lakhs .....and our martyrs who died for our country only were offered 5 lakhs......i m heart broken ....have no words to express my resentment
