the fresh 2.b rom is now available for public

Fresh Rom 2.0 (Android 2.1) by flipz

Not working:

  • Protected market apps (paid apps do show, copyprotected apps do not)
  • Visual voicemail (this will not work until we have some leaked Sprint apps for 2.1)
Requires a work-around:
  • LED notification for SMS/MMS. The stock sms app will not trigger it however 3rd party apps like Handcent will.

Working:

  • CAMERA!! (video will not work as of now, only still image)
  • Live wallpapers (Only in Android Home screen, it's not made for SenseUI)
  • MMS (Send and receive, doesn't require the telephony.db fix)
  • All sensors
  • Integrated wired tether (pick it from the USB options when you plug in your phone — be patient while it connects)
  • Bottom leds (excluding jogball at random)
  • Google sync
  • Bluetooth (mono and stereo)
  • WiFi
  • Properly working on Sprint's towers
Features:
  • 2.6.29 Kernel!
  • HTC Power Manager (do not use SetCPU!)
  • Modified kernel to add memory tweak script to improve performance (thanks to gbhil from gumbo rom for the recommended memory kill settings)
  • Espresso bottom bar by flipz
  • 2.1 taskbar by flipz
  • flash_image for flashing RA
  • Modified slider icons in HTC applications
  • Removed:
    • Amazon mp3
    • Google maps
    • Google sky map
    • GSD (HTC test program that was draining battery)
    • HTC Footprints
    • HTC Navi Panel
    • HTC Ringtone trimmer
    • HTC Sound recorder
    • HTC Stocks
    • IM (it was giving a sign on error)
    • Quick Office
    • Teeter

    [*]Added:

    • Busy box
    • Estrongs file explorer
    • Super User
    • Wifi tether 2.0-pre-7

I have added pictures to my contacts. These pictures are really fine until I sync the contacts with Google. After syncing the contacts with Google the picture quality gets deteriorated. Any solutions?

From nowhere I have landed into strange problem. I have been struggling for last two days but no success.

I have lost ability to connect my Hero to PC.

When I connect it PC recognizes "Android Phone" in Found New Hardware. but by all means including "have Disk" though I reach Finshed installing, I am not able to start HTC sync, nor am I able to connect to adb. In device manager ! is seen and

NO PORT appears in diagnostic mode.

I have tried showing path to driver freshly downloaded (if mine older was corrupt) no luck

I Updated Driver to v3 in sdk. still no luck.

Please help.

reload latest version of HTC Sync; which OS are u using? did u put ur phone in diag mode before trying to see the diagnostic port?

I am using WinXP. I Dialed ##3424# after connecting USB cable, and also tried to connect after having put it in DIAG mode.

Problem is each time I connect after Installing HTC_Sync_2.0.33 (which I downloaded from sprint support) it does not install driver. Found new hardware shows android phone and when I show C:\Program Files\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\XP_x86, and choose any of the three .inf I get error "the specified location does not contain information about your hardware." When I show it path to "C:\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver" and choose "android_winusb" it does seem to install and reaches finish point but then still kind of loop starts as it re-presents me found new hardware - Android Phone .... :Equivocado:

This appears to have started after I installed updates in my sdk including the usb driver. This I did because I was always getting USB root hub ! in device manager earlier and though htc sync used to connect and I had connection with adb server, I used to be itchy as to why I was not get clean Device manager and why I was not getting mass storage in PC. SO I thought may be it has to do with my root status so I tried to upgrade SDK driver and have apparently landed in a bigger mess.

Hope I made sense. and someone can please helllp.

Try installing HTC sync and all other drivers you have installed. Also uninstall sdk and then re-install fresh.
