Referring to the GSKs and the like? I don't think they can work with "non-provisioned" RIM handsets on the RIM network!

Can it be used with any phone? Even CDMA phones that are not supported by RIM?

Which CDMA phone did you try to activate with the GSK? You'll need to probably deactivate it from the current service provider before you can activate it on RIM!

prices are 35K, its not worth, in GSM you get much better phone for this price. I think CDMA guys are digging their own grave by not providing R-UIM support and exhorbitant handset prices. I believe unless they do away with handset monopoly they will start loosing high value customers in near future.

As I am aslo thinking to switch over to GSM after 2.5 years due to same reason.

I tried to activate handset my sis sent me from US. I programmed it for RIM, I can log on to rim network for programming but its rejected.

did u wait for the gsk form to get verified. Until your form isnt verified, the gsk doesnt program the phone.

Can you elaborate on this? What type of phone is this? What did you do to make it work with Reliance? All details, eventhought redundant, will be helpful.

Thanks.

No it is not possible to use GSK on non-provisioned handsets. I even tried to use the HCC on a similar handset as stated by kshah. But it just does not work.

Maybe because the phone parameters (read ESN) have to be in the Reliance database for that to happen.

And rakesh5295 what do you mean when you say "the startup kit works with it. gsk is diff." Kindly clarify.

where start up kit is available? If it is different than GSK and if you have access to it, I am ready to pay for it, if you can send me. I will pay in advance by MO or an means you say.

The startup kit is to program a nokia hanset for reliance and gsk is for geting ur no.

35834[/snapback]

I wonder what startup kit is? What I believe, GSK itself is the startup kit, which stands for Get Started Kit. I do not think there is anything like 'startup kit' available with RWW or even in the market, that too only for Nokia.....
