Free Email To Sms On Reliance/tata Mobile (email 2 Sms)

Recommended Posts

:( Hi All

I have come across this cool HOTMAIL feature to send EMAIL to RELIANCE PHONE SMS and its working. It may be old feature but here I am putting it as step-by-step Guide.

Now you can give your friends your special HOTMAIL-id which will send sms to your Reliance mobile absolutely free. FREE means F.R.E.E. (till date).

I was fed up of those stupid paid sms services which never work or work with some catch and yes some Fraud sites did steal Credit card money and never gave service to few people and people kept fighting with those fraud sites for sending sms to mobiles.

Steps are below:

Step 1) You must have a hotmail account. Login to it.

Step 2) Go to options. Go to MAIL OPTIONS. At bottom there is MOBILE ALERTS. Click on it

Step 3) Click on SIGN UP WITH MSN MOBILE

Step 4) Click on Wireless service provider :

select RELIANCE INDIAMOBILE or TATA TELESERVICES or HUTCH.

(Other providers are charging the SMS service, These above are still FREE.

Enter your 10 Digit Mobile Number

Step 5) Read Terms and Conditions and see if the service is Chargeable in top Paragraph

(Dont worry about Outgoing Charges) Press NEXT Button

Step 6) Now you will recieve the SMS with confirmation code in 2/10 seconds (cool!)

See the code in mobile and enter in Confirmation box on screen.

Step 7) Now select ALERT method, how you want your incoming emails and from whome.

Press DONE. and you are done!

Step 8) You can again go in Mobile Alert and setup the behaviour in case you want SMS only from people in your contact list.

Now you can give your HOTMAIL id to your friends for sending EMAIL2SMS to your RELIANCE or TATA HUTCH Mobiles

 IMPORTANT NOTE: The EMAIL SHOULD BE SMALLER (UPTO 150 CHARACTERS) AND BE SENT WITH SIMPLE TEXT MODE from any email software or website. Also Sometimes SMS comes in 2 seconds but sometimes after 5/10 minutes, but sure it will come.

BELIEVE ME I AM USING THIS SINCE MANY MONTHS AND NOT A SINGLE PAISA IS CHARGED FROM MY BOTH MOBILES RELIANCE (PREPAID) AND TATA (POSTPAID).

Now itnt this so simple?

HI DUDE!

At least I and you proved  its coming to your mobile in 30 min in U.P. (your state). In Mumbai I get SMS in less than 5 min always. It depends on Network distance from Mumbai Headquarters of Reliance in New Mumbai Vashi where all emails are landed and exchanged to Reliance Network Servers in every region.

You may get better timings in few days if you keep experimenting from different mail servers. Try Sending from Indian MailServers, like REDIFF, SIFY, INDIATIMES, etc and give me feedback on thier timings. Also check with othe Indian Server which I have not mentioned!

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi dude!

I have just updated the Topic and entered HUTCH also as FREE incoming service.

Dude you are wasting money. Discontinue the service to save money and setup a seperate hotmail email-id to use the same service. ha ha ha

Hutch kaa bhee baj gayaa baaraa.

is it possible to setup our own sms gateway or server to send free sms?

When you say SMS Gateway, it becomes professional Server, but comes at a heavy cost. There are two or more methods of SMS Gateway.

1) Professional WAP Portal:

Setting up your own WAP Portal website and taking licence from most Service Providers to send bulk messeges to thier mobile subscribers for any professional services. Your license will allow you to use 4 digit SMS Number for your customers, example 7575 or 7827, etc. This is too costly method. See in google for how to start a WAP website. This is not this forum subject to discuss.

2) Mobile SMS Gateway:

This is little cheaper but good for SOHO. There could be many SMS Softwares available which you need to purchase and use it with your mobile to send SMS in bulk from your computer with your mobilephone connected by data cable. For this you can use unlimited SMS card available in few states. Many companies are running this service from different states becuase providers offer unlimited SMS at a fixed price. The software on PC can understand the SMS messege and send SMS accordingly. Like some computer vendors in mumbai have such services. Example when you send "NEWS" To 8888 it will send current news as SMS. Or when you send "HPSC Mumbai" to 8888, it can send you list of HP Service Centres in Mumbai. The programming is required in this case.

3) There could be many other methods also......when I find anything practical I will mention in this forum.

Hi Vishal,

Why you are giving your email-id to people to send sms without testing. use your own other email-ids to test first. If you are successful then give your email-id to others.

You have to check your hotmail settings for proper Contact List (Does not work on Contact groups), Junk filter settings and then Mobile Alert Settings. All you have to do it on your own. Readcarefully while setting mobile alerts. "From Name" and "From Addr" are different things on same From line. Many people are doing this mistake.

If Junk filter is EXLCUSIVE, be sure you have your senders in Contact List, not in Contact Group. The most common mistake people do is Sending email with SIMPLE TEXT mode will only reach your mobile. Email with HTMLFormat will be simply ignored.

Hello cmahendra,

Hello Mathewvp. I mostly try to send emails with less han 100 characters and all come properly on my mobile. In fact I am using this service only as an ALERT system. Definitely our mobiles have limits on sms length, so how we can expect large emails coming to our mobiles in single sms? Lets be happy with this free mobile alert system.

At the same time you confirmed that at least 96 characters are coming in messege body. Good post.
